- Kura Home is a home maintenance and air-duct cleaning business in Plymouth, Minnesota. Depending on who and what lives in a home, skin cells, pet dander, and smoke debris build up in air vents that have been left untouched for decades. How Decades Worth Of Dust is Deep-Cleaned From Air Ducts | Deep Cleaned | Insider - Zábava
Just moved into new house and had whole house ducts cleaned. The smell from the seller is gone. Worth it.
I worked for kura in Minnesota Years ago and I can attest Daniel was an amazing boss I'm sure he still is and they do great work and are very detail oriented and accommodating. Go kura I'm proud
I mean the workers are not wearing any face mask, dust mask or any protective accessory at all. I don't think it is a healthy work environment
@@saikfait when I worked for them in the height of covid we were required to wear masks. I can't speak for the policy now but if you asked them to I bet they'd wear them.
Any tips for getting into that industry?
@@calisto789 hvac is a solid trade to learn if that’s the route you choose to go I would recommend a trade school or finding a place that will hire you and pay for your school.
Removing all that dust was so satisfying
We agree, Brandon!
Iv found myself holding my breath seeing you guys without masks. My nose would start bleeding after about 2 minutes no joke.
same bro 💀
Me too 😂
My dust mite allergy is acting up just watching this.
I have had my air ducts cleaned numerous times and it works very well.
Do you need to clean your air duct
Thanks for this detailed, deep in the system video of cleaning air ducts and dryer vents. The before and after videos are shockingly uplifting. An eye opening video.
How can you guys do that without masks, gloves, hair covers, and eye and ear gear to protect yourselves?!!
You just described a hazmat suit
I’m sure he’s weellllllllll aware of the serious risks associated with his job. Could’ve been done just for the video so he doesn’t look like he’s going on a space shuttle launch to potentially millions of people. Could also be that he’s an adult who’s willing to take calculated risks while being comfortable over wearing full PPE and being totally uncomfortable every single day. At the end of the day I’m sure most of us agree that he should probably at least be wearing a proper N95 and maybe some eyewear however that’s his decision to make not ours. I know some people who totally panic wearing face masks so you just never know the reason why.
We might be only seeing the demonstration parts of the vid so we don't see him wear mask. If he is going to do some serious dust cleening where he is expected to have chuck face full of dust then its safe to expect he is going to use a mask since he is a professional after all. Like this part at 3:43
Maybe if you had your vent cleaned they do wear rotective clothing and a mask i dont recall goggles you can clean your ow n vent as well.
Its just dust mate
Anyone else holding their breath watching the dust fly out? 🤣
Nah i absolutely love the smell of dust and lint.
A lot of that what you were sucking up when you were using the clear dome didn’t look like dust but looked exactly like the loose blow in ceiling insulation. Maybe it got in there in the install but the way it clumped and even had the same sort of mix of distribution of different colours in it, just like the insulation I have in my roof space
Been watching a lot of videos on duct maintenance, leak fixes, and cleaning lately. This was pretty neat ! I must say though I got a real shock with the guy at the outdoor dryer vent using no eye protection blasting away with the air. Anyways, videos like this reinforce my goal of doing a good range of 10-year activities in my new construction home including ducts and vents.
I know when I worn plastic type safety glasses, especially whenever the forehead has a bit of a must forming from some perspiration on the edge of becoming a dripping nightmare.... The onslaught of dusty particles floating freely in my view .... especially the micro pieces of dust, dead skin cells floating, & unknown debris particles would cling to my glasses on both sides ... obstruction of my limited view...over 50 % reduction of clear sight ... & The naked eyeball is that much closer to getting a stray dust bunny cousin or so to poke me in the eyes or hang freely on my lower eyelid area or in my eyelashes... Where if I just closed my eyes in bursts as I cleaned out the vent ... Since the vent cannot move physically from the spot it's in...... Control the directions of where the dust flies.... & Be diligent on finding all the remaining stuff that didn't fully exit the targeted area to get cleaned ..... & Take that soft little ... Whambulance card carrying.... attitude of ....oh my gosh ...I'm gonna get filthy... Oh heavens...look at my clothes .. they have filthy all over them now & gosh ... It must be excruciating to breathe.... normally....as you obviously don't sit there with a mouth all jaw slacked like goober Pyle on AG Show ..... Daydreaming of the fun flavors of the fungi flying in the work space ....
This is a bit of dirty ...but is it a hazmat level every time ....I seriously would doubt it ... And why point out all these mind blowing acts in their videos...if u WANT TO WEAR A MASK ....TTTT...TTT..IMMMMY...wear a flipping mask ...out on 2 pairs of safety glasses ....cover your tootsies up with a full coverall type of suit .. like painters & other cleaning crews wear on more risky type jobs . To prevent any contamination to invade your clothes or in your lungs or melt in through your epidermal organ.... It is indeed the largest organ people have ....so keep it healthy & throw some soap & water on the epidermal areas later that evening to be triple troubleshooter safe
Sounds like a new business opportunity...
The funny thing is. I was actually watching your old dust video. I came across the video as I searched for "professional house cleaning 😅"
Why was this so satisfying to watch??
Awesome, neat device that flushes with wall w/ vacuum hook-up!!!
Where can you buy the reverse air whip or ball attachment for the air hose? Do you have any links to where you get your equipment?
The worst problem I notice is when the register and ducting is so rusty that bits are flying everywhere as I'm trying to clean. Is that affecting the supply air quality and should the rusty pieces be replaced asap?
( me living in a farmhouse built in 1910) yeah, I am definitely breathing in mold some how in some way
Best video I’ve ever watched
*Your video is really relaxing and highly satisfying to watch!* 🥰😌👍
Very satisfying to watch, just like the smartphone deep cleaning or pimple popper videos 🤗
Thanks you guys for this video really important 🤔😊
Oddly satisfying
even watching this is giving me allergies 🤧
Who do we need to call for this thorough type of cleaning? What if one lives in an apartment building? Can an individual apt be done or does it require a full building cleaning?
Yes an individual apartment can be done. I do duct cleaning
You have to report it to lanlord and they have to contract someone to clean it out
We do a lot of apartment buildings and townhouses and condos. We are offering franchises and hope to be out to your area soon!
@@kurahome Thank you. My speciic question was, does it suffice to do an individual apartment, or do you have to do the whole builing, since vent ducts are shared?
Interesting!
I couldn't hear you; how did you power the brush without tearing the foil in the vents? People I had clean our vents did not do a good job so I must redo their work.
Need to watch this kind of video more since my house full of. Can't avoid. Planning to move out though in future.
Well done. I don't have that air compressor but I will use vacuum hose. What solution should you use to clean? Lysol?
Very Nice!!!
I rent a home where this is desperately needed and they refused my suggestion! I've loved here for 6 years now! My power bill in the summer (June thru August) and the winter (december to February) is outrageous! These are the times my home air system is working hard to keep cool and warm! Is there something you could suggest that will help me clean these myself?
@17 seconds looks like something straight out of DeadSpace 😱🤪😂
Some people dont use air filters, thats some large particulate.
@insider where can I buy that vacuum? Looking to clean my house air ducts.
I live in a 70s home and I never had to clean the vents. besides the air returns are full of Dust and Greece
It's time to get your air ducts cleaned!
What do you do if you live in a rented apartment and you're not in charge? The owner is cheap and doesn't see the value in it, but it affects your everyday life because so much dust is formed on everything in your home.
Is it possible to rent the duct cleaning tools and do it myself? What about bugs and spiders, will that cause more of them to come out? I hate that it's not a standard in most apartments to get ducts cleaned.
Can anyone please tell me what the proper name is for that clear box is he’s using to catch the dust I’ve been looking for and can’t find it a link comment would greatly help me
I feel like dust got in my eyes watching this 😂
It's so satisfying
How do you go about removing the vents when they have been painted over many times so you can barely see the screws let alone not damage the paint on the walls
Very meticulously! We do come across this scenario and do our best not to damage the surrounding paint.
Razor knife, patience, tapping and maybe some pounding to cleanly break sealed edges,
Alternatively, consider using negative air pressure method which extracts from trunk lines
I live in an old apartment and that’s exactly how it is 😂
Where can I buy that plastic dome cover?
How satisfying!!! But I would certainly be wearing a mask... or something protecting my airway
Yes
Great vlog, Where to buy the equipment plz?
We had two major companies come and give an estimate and they recommended not to clean because our house built a certain year because it can be harmful?? Can you advise on that
What year?
In Europa they just use radiators or in floor heating. Much better than this nightmare of a mess. Don't know why they still use airducts heating in USA.
Just watching this made me have trouble breathing
Which areas do you service?
Dryer vent, use pool skimmer hose attached to vacuum fo free
I have the ones in my condo cleaned yesterday. It’s been over 36 hours and every time I run the air there’s dust and black soot coming out. The cleaner said it has nothing to do with what he did but I can’t see how that’s true. It’s never happened before. Is this normal and how long does it last? Thanks.
How did they clean your air ducts? What was the process?\
@@kurahome he used a vacuum hose. I still can’t run the AC. Every time I do black particles fly out. The guy has completely ruined my system and I don’t have money to pay for it to be fixed.
Change your filter. Put damp t shirt over duct registers. Run your system, just on fan. For 5 min. Clean up. Change filter and should be good. Or call them to deal with their mess. You paid them. Talk to management of duct cleaning co.
@@peterniven870 I had the entire duct system replaced. Thanks for the tip. Will definitely keep it for future.
Would this hold smokie smells??
No dust mask?
What about if there is rat evidence does the vents need to be replaced how are you disinfecting it doesn’t look like that was done
Can you recommend a company in Central Florida?
Bro one small fire would burn the whole thing
How much does something like this cost
Is this America?? Can someone explain why regular houses have air ducts? Asian here.. I have never heard of an air duct in a house....
Also, why have an air duct near the floor? Why not near the ceiling? That would prevent so much dirt collection in the air duct...
They have air ducts to disperse cool and hot air from the “air handler”throughout the home. In newer homes typically called “central heating and air”. A lot of old style mobile homes have air ducts on the floor, or even returns on the floor and airducts on the ceiling. but I have come across floor vents in a house. Terrible design to say the least …. Newer houses have air ducts on the ceiling or wall near the ceiling.
Have you been living in a cave that has no air ducts?
How are central air ducts cleaned?
The video was all about that. Were you awake and actually watching the video.
For the ones who reads this just know this is only the beginning keep pushing, grinding, and fighting. Whatever it is in life you want to do to go after it life is to short. Life is a marathon not a sprint so go out there and live it up I hope all is well and goes well for you peace and one love!
How much
At the very least you guys should be protecting your lungs by wearing masks while you do this type of cleaning!
Почему без масок работают?
😮
Where do you find these homes? Who lives here? The sasquatch? They don't even sweep their floors
They are only showing the worst homes.
He said “HEPA VACUUM” and is using a Home Depot Rigid Shop vac ($120) hahahahah.
What is the cost?
And I'm asking myself why you need Vents in flats and houses when you have windows. 🤔 Here, we don't have something like that.
They typically provide centralized heating and/or cooling. For example, my area is as cold as -40°C during winter cold snaps and as hot as 40°C in summer heat waves. Opening a window under those conditions would be less than helpful.
@@B.D.F. We have more a -10 to 35~40°C range but not every year. Not everybody have an air conditioning. We help us with fans and other methods. But there are one or another flat/house with air conditioning, but not in this way. To have it warm in winter we use heaters with water circulation. Isn't the heated air pretty dry?
Since the 1960's in Canada they have central heating in a lot of homes at least our did and it was built in 1960 and had he same oil furnace until it was sold in 2010, that 50 years.
@@UncompressedWAVmusic this doesn't answer it for me. :/
Like I said last year, we have radiators. The hot water is also heated centrally and then transported to the individual radiators throughout the building. the air in winter is also dry, but I imagine the air from the shafts is even drier. Added to this is all the dust if the shafts are not cleaned well.
First of all some of this dust is clearly planted just for video purposes. Secondly, notice how all of the cleaning is taking place right at the air ducts, which is where all of your dust or debris would settle in your house. You can do this yourself easy. Just take off your vents and vacuum
How much i have to pay to do that job?
No protection gears for your stuff? omg
How satisfying! And I agree with the other commenter; your guys should be wearing masks so they’re not inhaling all that crap
The poor owner, surely the neglect of the home was a sign of the life they must have endured living in there.
👌👍
The audio quality of the guy talking wasn't very good... I wish we had good mic technology on planet Earth... /s
Typically air duct cleaning is not this comprehensive. House without “50 years of smoking” does not need this service. More likely they need a real/honest hvac assessment that will find something besides dirty ducts
Yeah the fact that the coil, condenser, furnace, and blower fan weren’t serviced leaves a lot of debris, dust and stench in that house. They needed more done than just the ducts.
BS about your comment that unless 50 years of smoking you don't need this service. Get your head examined. I bought a house and my wife and I were fine in it. At our initial house warming party my brothe and my niece said their allergies were going through the roof. So we looked into the upstairs air intake grates in the hallway and it looked like the ducts were fur lined. As in pets for years. So I had the ducts cleaned and the fur lining was sucked all out of the system. Heavy smoking or a lot of pet hair or other reasons can make you ducts very dirty and need a cleaning.
BONES??!!
What happens to all the dust?
It gets sucked up by our vacuum!
The backrooms
Thankfully, We don't have air ducts in our house...
this gave me an athsma attack just looking at this
That's why i have windows lmao
How much does this normally coat. I just had a guy come out and clean mine but he legit just hooked up a big tube 2 one vent and turn something on in his car. but non of this legit cleaning all the vents.
If you don't research the contractor you hire then you just remain clueless.
This makes living in America more dangerous as I have seen they have these types of homes.I could never stay in a home with a risk like this.
It’s only dangerous if you don’t educate yourself on proper home maintenance. Not everyone has this dirty of home. I do HVAC cleaning partly for a living and have seen money a home or business have almost new looking HVAC but they still hired us to clean it.
So thats what my lungs look like
Why in the world would you have an air duct IN THE FLOOR?
A heating system has air ducts in the floor.
Ease of installation in existing residences, especially those with basements or crawl spaces.
Heat rises, if you put them up high you'll never warm a house. Also most are placed near windows and doors, those are the biggest place cold air gets in so you heat that area.
@@moseyoriginal Mine doesn't, the HVAC is on top of the 3rd floor!!
@@indyguy3400 Wrong. Our HVAC is on the 3rd floor roof. Due to the odd, "Remodeling," of the former owners, there's only one register on the 1st FL, over the kitchen sink! I put a box fan on low, to pull the heat through the DR to LR, the latter has a reversible fan, so I pull the heated air through, up, or push it down - depending on temperature.
Looking into hanging round, industrial ductwork from the DR through LR, as DIY. Put in double-paned sliding glass windows, for both sound and temperature control.
Basically a commercial
I'm not from America so bear with me on this. Are air ducts like this an American thing, I haven't seen them in Scandinavia or Australia (or anywhere in Europe come to think of it)?
If you have air ducts in a central furnace or central air then you have ducts unless your house has other types of heating and only have windows.
Volume is too low on this video
The volume is not low you need a ear doctor
Already posted.
Where are the gloves??? They're touching this dust and debris and mold with bare hands. Other than that it looks like good work. They need to wear work gloves.
Who cleans their lungs after they clean these places?
Why is this video so QUIET?
its your volume lol
my nose itch and i want to cough when watching this video
No hazmat suits?
I feel my allergies about to erupt.
I swear I watched sum'n on the hub where this guy was the 'air duct cleaning man' and he 'came' to clean those air ducts🍆
cant really hear you.
Cleaning air ducts with a shop vac, brush line and a plastic cover should be illegal.
Well the machines they are using should be a lot more robust than just a shopvac. With the right technician you only need a 500 rpm fan with a brush line, air hose, and that plastic seal to do a really good job.
Me knowing that dust contains dead skin cells after watching the video:🤢🤮
you volumen is to low
This is triggering my asthma
i can see a french fry in my ducts in a rental property. its not a real french fry, just a toy from a kids playset.
Is it still there??
