In this quick and simple rumba basic steps tutorial, Mila teaches the top 8 beginner rumba basic steps. She later connects these rumba basic steps into a routine that is shared in a different rumba dance video, which is linked above. Rumba is a great dance to add to your latin dance workout, and these 8 beginner latin rumba steps are a great place to start to learn the most popular beginner basic rumba steps.
Rumba music is slower in pace than some of the other ballroom latin dance songs, and it is known as the more romantic dance. For this reason, rumba is often used by wedding dance couples for their first dance. And so this beginner rumba basic steps tutorial is great for a couple learning their wedding dance.
How to dance rumba and especially how to dance rumba for beginners can be found right here, simply by combining these beginner rumba dance steps into a routine. This rumba basic steps tutorial shows steps that can be danced both solo and with a partner. As a solo, these steps are great for a rumba dance workout, or just dance practice in general. And with a partner, these rumba basic steps can absolutely be danced as well. Simply have each partner start with the opposite part of the dance step. If the leader starts dancing with their left food for example, the follower can start with their right foot of that same rumba basic step.
Thank you for watching this beginner rumba basic steps tutorial. Happy Rumba Dancing!

Thank you for not making it complicated like ballroom dancing. It’s reaallly difficult to find actual dancing tutorials on here. I love your approach. It’s real dancing. I don;t want to learn to dance for competitions, just for fun.

It would have been very helpful if these steps could have also been shown with a partner. Sometimes it is difficult for beginners to see the true connection with a partner when learning from watching only the one side.

@@MilaDanceSport thank you! I danced Ballroom about 30 years and have forgotten about the steps. Now that I see them, I can generally do them. Brings back memories.
Since these seem to be "natural opposite" type steps, how do I lead the Lady and/or follower?
