Great recap Rick! Missing you by a day. Next time
Josh! I heard you were coming today. I hope to catch you next time for sure. Show us what you buy please!
Perfect recap Rick. I went yesterday too. Early entry. I’m disappointed that I didn’t run into you. I had a great time.
Ahhh we have to make a point to meet up next time. Where are you located?
Sounds like an amazing show. And you met some good dudes. Great pickups.
Hey Rick! I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the show. I am glad you were about to meet up with Mike. He seems like a great guy that would be fun to talk to. Always good to see George too.
Twelve to go on the 1963 set. Nice! You should be able to complete that and the PlayBall this year.
Sharp looking 50 Bowman cards. That seems like a doable set being there is no Mantle, Mays or big rookies. It is a nice snap shot of late 40s-early 50s baseball minus Stan the Man.
I always enjoy hearing you talk before you get into the cards. I missed that in your last few videos.
Terry, I wish I had spent more time with Mike. He and is friend Bill are great people.
The key for me is the 1950 Bowman is what you said, No Mickey or Wille. I own Jackie and all the Dodgers, Ashburn, Feller and now Roberts. If I can get the Ted Williams, Rizzuto and Yogi, I'd consider making a serious on the set. Would be a great set to own.
Yeah, I threw myself in front of the camera again. I need to find a happy medium where I am in front of the camera some shows and behind the camera on others. There were days in January that I just didn't have the energy to go in front. It's all good. It was a fun show. You already know I am beat. hahaha. Thanks for watching!
Hey Rick, it was great seeing you and talking for a bit. George and Levon certainly had some great stuff at the show, and you're definitely right when you say you should ask the dealers if they have stuff because they obviously can't have everything out in the case. I was kinda bummed watching the footage at the end of your video where you showed a 1955 Sport magazine signed Duke Snider for $45 sticker. I would have jumped on that had I found it. Oh well, overall a great and tiring day. Have a great weekend.
Mike, that's George's magazine. Hit him up! Was great seeing you. I am beat!! hahaha! Thanks for the music advice.
Nice show recap Rick. I haven’t been to a show in ages. Great pickups.
Thanks Peter! I hadn't been to a big show in years until this Burbank Show came along. We have a lot of small local shows that aren't the best.
Sounds like a blast. The next show I’m going to is in May but will be the first time I’m going to a show with part of the intention of meeting up with some guys I’ve met on CZcams. Nice 50 Bowman’s. Kind of an under appreciated set in my opinion
Drew, a card show is fun and is even more fun with people from CZcams. A great way to spend a day, buying and talking cards with friends. I look forward to your video of the show. I think 50 Bowman is very underrated. I think part of it is the card size.
Enjoyed your review of the Burbank Show. Sounds like a great time. It's cool to be able to walk around and talk to other CZcamsrs.
Nice pickups, Rick! Really nice '63 Topps Richardson. You found some great '50 Bowmans. Really enjoy those 50's Bowman sets.
Thanks so much. Was a fun show and lots baseball cards for everybody,
I live near Ontario. I wanted to go to this show but had to work. Great review!
Sounds like you still had a great show Rick, and picked up some nice '50B!
Great recap, Rick. Really enjoyed seeing your Show pickups. Patience and focus looks like it paid off. The '50 Bowmans are beautiful. Irv Noren is a Pasadena guy as you probably know. I bought my first glove when Irv was in the local Pasadena sporting goods shop back in '65. Nice Brooksie, and the Maris and Banks are outstanding. Thanks for showing us some beauties.
Thanks so much, Rob. I didn't know about Ira Noren being a Pasadena guy. That's a great story when you bought your glove. Thanks again for watching!
Rick, another Pasadena guy who lived five houses up the street from me was Ben Wade who I am sure you are familiar with. I have both Irv's and Ben's 53 Topps cards. They played against each other in the '53 Series.
@@BaseballTimeTraveler how cool is that? I would have died if I lived near a major leaguer.
Cool video. After watching this I need a road trip to the West Coast. Take care.
With that nickname of yours, you definitely need a west coast trip!
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector lol. The name comes from Dodgertown in Vero Beach Florida. The 76 comes first year I attended spring training. I was 9 or 10. The fungo is for the bats and balls I would get from a lady who lived on my street. Her husband was a grounds keeper at a field. Dowdy Field in Hollywood Fla. which is a soccer field now. It was where the baby Yankees trained. Every week she would deliver a duffle bag of bats and balls to me and the neighborhood kids. We had many great summers playing ball. I would always keep the fungo bats for myself even had a few corked bats. He also worked at the Miami Stadium where the Orioles trained. The Dodgers was a magical team for me growing up and actually talking and getting autos from the players. Ron ( The Penguin ) Cey and Davy Lopes were always very cool to the fans.
Wish I could go. George is pretty cool.
Are you out for town, Sean? It was a good show. George is a great guy!
Hey Rick, luckily fell onto your video of the show and recognized you. I’m a dealer that you have looked at my cards at a few different shows. I’ve always enjoyed talking with you. I remember you asking about ’63 Topps baseball of which I have some but I didn’t have any you needed this time. It gets tough as you get down to the last few cards you need to finish the set. You’re lucky if you find one that you need. Wanted to say I enjoyed your video and I will look for others as well. Wanted to let you know if you continue looking for ’50 Bowman baseball that I have a large amount of them in good quality that I always make available at the shows in which I have a table. I always bring my boxes of ungraded cards to make available to set builders. Anyway, thanks for the fun video and hope to see you at another show soon.
MITCH! Love your table. You always have great cards. I will probably be hitting you up for 1950 Bowman's. What show are you doing next? Pasadena? Del Mar? Thank so much for watching!
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector I’ll be at Del Mar March 8-10 and looks like I’ll be doing Pasadena in May as well. Hope to see you there. Keep up with the great content.
Yep, pretty much no such thing as a Dodger or Yankee “common” vintage card.
“Ran into Geezmikey”. Id like to be in on that conversation!
We talked about a lot things besides cards. He's a good man. Yeah, those Yankees and Dodgers are even mentioned in the Beckett guide as being more valuable than regular commons. Thanks for watching!
Orange County. But I can drive to the Pasadena show. I go to the Burbank Card store on occasion.
Wishing I could’ve been there. Thank you for the recap. Thank you for sharing
Orlando, you should come out some time.
