A very busy level crossing found within Mortlake near Richmond in the suburbs to the south west of London, also very close to the bank of the River Thames. It is found next to Mortlake Railway station on the busy London Waterloo to Reading Line, and one of the two alarms has an unusually fast tone. Most likely in part due to the Ultra Low Emissions Zone, there was much less road traffic here than I expected there to be on my visit. Most usage came from pedestrians and cyclists, and this is a very busy crossing given its width.
Usually bustling with suburban and commuter services, this line also saw frequent diverted long-distance services to and from the South Coast on the day of filming due to engineering works and a line closure on the main line between Clapham Junction and Weybridge. This line was still very busy given it was a Sunday.
    Thanks for watching!

Great video and nice crossing! What was the hangman on the last activation for? Also, I'm kinda surprised that the one side street is striped all the way up to the bollards, given how there seems to be no place to turn around beyond a certain point. Might be worth just pedestrianizing it beyond any driveways.

      Thank you!
It does seem a bit odd that both of those side streets aren't pedestrianised at their ends to be honest. Both 'hangmans' in the video were to allow people to finish crossing.
