Shumi has so good knowledge of automobiles .hats off to him.👍👍👍👍
Yes he is 🔥🔥
As of now there is only one brand out there if you are considering for an e-scooter - Ather.
Yaaa
I agree with everything except what was said about India being a slow moving market and EVs will still be at 20-30% in 2030. It ain't. India is a tech loving country and EV 2W and 3W will form majority of new sales by 2025. Remember the rise of electric slow 3W which took only 5-7 years. These are disrupting things and grow exponentially. This year the prominent EV makers have already seen 10 times(1000%) growth yoy.
EVs still need a lot of R&D and as he said they need to deliver the promise cause ICE have been delivering that promise for more than a century and they need a lot of infrastructure for charging points maybe in near future electric two wheelers can see a boom but definitely not for four wheeler. Only reason more EVs are in sale now is because of fuel prices otherwise no one would have bothered about EVs it can change when fuel prices comes down.
Interesting and informative interview. I would say he is missing the clean air issue in delhi, where 10 year old diesel cars are being phased out. If you purchased a diesel car in Delhi in 2012, and drove it around to shops, keeping it serviced and well maintained and it has 60k km now. Now you have to scrap it. Also a lot of people who drive ic vehicles are banned from city now. Our children are dieing from poor air quality and ic is a contributor. Globally ic vehicles are being phased out with targets of as early as 2030. Someone has to be first to purchase an ev so manufacturers can learn. I salute the 10 lac people that trust Ola and ordered as well as all those that purchased Ather, TVs iCube and Cheetak. They are leading the way to save our country, give future high paying jobs and protect our children. If the USA waited for the perfect Tesla, there would be no Tesla as China builds ev's as good as early Tesla's now, but Tesla has learned and is leading. Ola took a very bold move to build the world's biggest 2 wheeler factory, and dominate the global 2 wheeler market. It's time that India belives in its sons and backs them so we can knock China and USA off the podium instead of worrying about not being good enough, or not enough time. China, Europe and the USA are not taking baby steps.
If not for India, then do it for your kids.
Maybe we stay far from Delhi , we don't know how serious the situation you guys smare facing , I really wish it would get better
ICE vehicles are not the only reason behind Delhi's pollution. It's a combination of various factors,
@@oliverqueen5095 that may be true, but Ice vehicles are becoming a liability on many of the world's biggest cities. Governments love to force people to buy new cars and bikes to collect all the taxes, from hat to income from the worlers
vehicles are not the only pollution that contributes.. there are many things. which people do every day like burning trash.
Govt should invest or provide infrastructure to help in testing the vehicles before they flood the market.
Like he says lot of vehicles are launching Beta models. which are going to fail. BTW Battery also creates pollution in its own way, you don't see the smoke for now..
There is still al lot that we need to understand why somethings never change and high level diplomats, don't want to.
BTW I want pollution free world not just India.
@@RavikFic great point. Even providing trash cans would go a long way to cleaning up the place. It's a tough call. On the one hand, if India does not get a jump start, it will lose the market to China that's investing heavily. I think it's really important to support India's emerging ev businesses as it's a super competative market. Government involvement, although the intentions may be good tends to be ineffective and misplaced
Pradeep, have been following your channel since the whole EV thing exploded in the market. You are good. You ask the right questions which is very important. One suggestion would be for you to be a bit calm and composed, just like Schumi. Will be better I believe. Not saying based on this video alone but in general, after seeing a bunch of them over past month. Hope you take it in the right spirit.
Noted Shankar ,thanks man
I strongly believe that ola will shut your mouth after delivered within 1 month

Hi Ola supporters..ssup? 😋
Everytime hearing Pradeep say hi helo "ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ" its a different feeling...
The questions you asked were very well thought out.. exactly what I as a user wanted to ask the industry..
I agree with shumi the product being released now are beta level and nothing can be 100% tested.. but company needs to be little bit serious about the promise they make.. if ev industry keeps on making promises and not deliver it's gonna lose out on a factor trust.
thank you man , asking the right question is always important

Give shumi any auto topic he will talks for hour together and people will listen to him for hours together as well. His persona & knowledge is next level which no automotive journalist can match till date 🙏
True
Think from customer point of you
Spare parts are too much expensive of ather. E.g rotor belt cost rs 8500
So every company must come put with value of spare parts
Yes it's very expensive
Hi Pradeep, it's good to hear from Shumi since he is indeed one of the credible names in the business. I'm looking for some precise info on Boom Corbett bikes and though there are already some takes, most seem like promos.
I liked that petrol & lithium part. 11:40
Thank you Pradeep bhai Shumi sir, will go for Activa now 😁
😉
Pradeep bhai kush hogaye ather sunthe hi
I don't think so
In short what we have to do is that we need to wait another five to ten years and let the EV scooter mature enough. Especially there should be a huge innovation in battery technology
❤️
I feel as he said people who are riding in city and not going outside city. I think if you can live with the beta version unless the bike breakdowns and no service.its good investment in good company bikes and use for three to four years and maybe upgrade your scooter. Like revolt bike which i am using if next gen lithium phosphate or other technology battery comes and if they can replace with my present battery and controller with same motor which will gives me better range . I am ready to pay the extra differential price which will be good upgrade instead of buying a new bike.
Exactly, we believe journalist/Automobile reviewers to an extent that it gives a sense of understanding wether we should even consider buying specific models.
Hence Shumi is absolutely correct since automobile reviewers have responsibility towards there audiance.
Yes , absolutely
Hey Pradeep,
Great interview. Just one tip, please look the person in the eye when interviewing. You were very fidgety during the interview. :)
Very informative. I always wish interviews should go this way, the person who is asking questions knows good subject.
Pradeep - The Battery is major concern for any EV's , The all EV OEM'S should manufacture standard Battery module not on customized one later EV's OEM will play on battery pricing after three years. Standard battery module will follow some guidelines and pricing also would be competitive for the money spending Buyers.
Hey Pradeep,
Lovely to get Schumi for an interview. I always watch Power Drift, among others like Dino, Bulu Biker etc. Yes, have to agree here, EVs in India are still in the Beta stage. With time they will evolve into vehicles that the the consumer desires.
Ride safe & take care!!
Thank you and you too take care
bilu biker..he has half knowledge of things....
Yes that's true when Ather launch didn't bring Ather beta directly scooter serve to customer in their respective showroom and thise who booked and near Ather showroom their customers called up and gave to test drive
True
Shubhabrata Marmar is absolutely right, we just have to be patient to tap into the world of EV, it's currently just at an experimental stage and we will see more promising offerings with more innovations going ahead.
True
Ather limited to few big cities. Simple yet to take off. Ola started delivering now. I am from Bhubaneswar and we have to be contended with Chinese stuffs of Okinawa, pure ev, ampere....
Hence not many options...
Now this is what I have had been waiting for. 👍🏼🔥Just that the guy holding the camera should have held it stable.
😊😊
Thanks brother , time to upgrade the equipment
Only thing I disagree with him is ,he is underestimating Indian markets ability to pickup innovation and pay the price for it.it will not take 10 years or 8 for ev to grow it will be shorter
It takes some time to mature and standardised. We have to wait little bit. Govt is first to prepare alternate fuel or ev vehicle to be road ready then they have to raise petrol peice. But in realtime most of the ev manufacturers are in prototype stage only. Most of them importing batteries there is no clear sign local battery manufacturing and price reduction of batteries in future stage. Each of them propietery fast charging stations. We have abundant fuel pump stations, coffee shops and motels on highways. Govt should regulate and provide standard fast charging stations only will kick off sales otherwise buyers are confusing and lot of doubts about ev. Sellers should briefly clear their doubts to boost sales. And shumi said one valid point is this is not a micie or grinder its a movable one if anything wrong it kill people and misery. Hope upcoming months we see huge improvement in ev.
Shumi is right, there should be some safety standards against which the products should be evaluated against. The government should introduce some safety standards for vehicle testing like how they intend to do for robot vehicles in the US.
Very nice informative interview i purchased bajaj chetak Ev and is very satisfied with its performance, and built quality.
❤️
i doubt Ola from day 1 there are over promising
Thank you. In the mobiles where we get those Lithium ion batteries, the manufacturers recommend to maintain battery charge between 30-80% not overcharge to 100% or drain it below 10%.
And, given the batteries lose their capacity to hold charge to 70-80% over the time, should we wait until some electric scooter or motorcycle that comes to provide a good range figures considering a deteriorated battery of 80% capacity charged upto 80% delivers 80 km of range of eco mode?
This is when we can say it's out of beta testing?
Replace a battery is not equal filling petrol, as petrol tha I buy will cumulative but not the battery and I cannot replace the battery when it has still some charge
The interview is very good and ...I have an idea to get the iqube home but it is 2months to reach me....then pradeep plz give an idea which bike I could buy EV or petrol...I very confused regarding this.
Pradeep any updates on bounce ev scooter please share test ride experience on B- E1 and can i go with this ev if Yes shall i purchase with batt or without Battery. pls reply
No test rides yet , will update once it's done 🙌
I agree to the point that its early to buy ev right now but here comes the second view. Till the time we wait for the ev to be mature enough to make customers satisfy with the technology we might end up paying more of the amount on filling petrol than buying ev and saving money for a matured product.
Worse, you will be buying a foreign bike, likely Chinese or Japanese. They are ready to bring in a lot of upgraded models in the next year. India has a small window of time to get good at making ev's before the consumer will switch to imports
💯
@@barryobrien1890 i already bought pure company's etrance neo and have drive 10000 kms in 4 months. I would have spent around 25000 on fuel. so within another 7 months down the line. The money spent on ev will be covered. Post that it will be saving on fuel. So, in my opinion the saving can be done for a matured product which we can buy in future.
@@jassji I agree. Very good point. Also helps others think about ev. It is very important to support ev company now so china or japan don't take over indian market
but you don't know the maintenance costs of EVs. Only Ather has been in the industry for an year and they are not good at it. I wonder what others EV manufacturers are going to do.. Even there is no common battery charging model so far
Thanks a lot.Really good work and guidance/suggestions. People are in dilemma about EV or petrol...so this is surely going to help them. plz continue with this kind of videos.
Everything is okay...but Speed is less better to increase the speed upto 75-90 kmph...
more speed less range
@@PradeeponWheels ...if I go with subscribe it's very huge cost ...bike cost 54k + Month subscribe 850+ per swap 35+ per km 65 piesa... it means 850+ 10*35+ 500*.65= 1400/- almost per month.... instead of that we go with battery around 70k ... it's best option...3 Y/ 40 k km warranty and bike 10Y / 1 lack km warranty

Yea he's right Pradeep is on Wheels and the rate he is producing his videos, he is on fire bro🤟🏻.

We cannot make the de novo system in EV
It seems that he believes that a product sound be absolutely perfect before it's launched to customers.
Lucky for us that critiques like these did discourage the imperfect ICE motorcycles being sold since 1885. More than 135 years and they are still pursuing perfection.
Let's remember that a critic is never greater than the creator.
Thats a total different story bro. Like you said 135 years. why would you go to Day 1 and keep your mouth open like seeing an alien technology. Thats not a good comparison. we have that 100 yr knowledge now to critic and see in the correct direction. instead of being a Lab Rat for EV products.
I waited for an EV from 22motors for 2 years.. even before I heard of Ather. After 2/3 years they dissolved it.. I was interested in Ather but the price put me down. there will be an excitement but when it comes to reality that excitement will not stay..
I have a friend who is an Auto enthusiast, told the same things 2 years ago that Shumi said in this video.. its too early to get an EV.
price factor becomes major thing. If a person isnt riding atleast 50 kms per day, they better not go with EVs
