Yea it's one of those things that has a huge gap between "good enough to fight" and 100%. It can be a nagging injury that's never fully healthy again. So far so good, but he didn't really have to test it a lot.
It’s cool and all but fighting the 15th ranked guy in a basically dead heavyweight division isn’t that impressive.
@@jacobross735 lol, UFC was throwing him a softball, because they know he could be a potential cash cow, but coming off a major injury can be unpredictable. They're not gonna throw him in there with a contender immediately.
It was actually his ACL which is a much more significant injury

He is so well rounded and such a talented fighter. I was so afraid of his injuries, and thought he might never be the same again. Guy literally had MCL and meniscus tears, and ACL damage. But look at him now just a year after getting injured. Absolute madman
Nowadays with stem cells and the technology your a better fighter or athlete after repairs.
Tore my ACL in December of last year in the fight gym. almost 6 months post op. Been waiting to catch Aspinal's return fight. When he says he's different in mind and body, he's not lying. For those of you who don't know, to put it bluntly you really do have to climb from the trenches to get back. It is unbelievably hard, and you have to work EVERY day to make a return like this. its not easy, but with hard work, it works out, and you'll be a better version of yourself when you come out of it. We got to really give this dude credit, because those of you who've gone through it know he busted his ass for the last year. As I'm grinding to make my return, it is so motivational and essential to my mental health to be reminded that with hard work, its gonna be fine. Thanks Tom 👊

Everyone acting like Stipe already lost, I'm being real about it, I know it's a long shot, I know the overwhelming likelihood is Jones dusts him in the first round. BUT, on the other side, if there was a dark horse for an upset, Stipe is the guy. His boxing is A+, and fight IQ is A+++, he can make in-fight adjustments and win, he's done it several times. If he can find a home for those left body punches he can make another epic comeback win.

Spivak could potentially If whoever the champ is a pure striker like gane but stipe is still a huge threat to jon.
If anything Almeida should cut the weight like he used to and after the title at LHW. He was there before and he's weighed as little as 229 for HW fights. That's an easy cut to 205. I don't put much stock in his last fight because Big Boy is a slow, aging kickboxer with shit for a ground game.
Also how do natural heavyweights just change the division? Especially the heavyweights that have to cut weight just to make 265. Wouldn't it be overwhelmingly boring if a division had 4 fighters? The ones that aren't the champion have to fight someone besides each other repeatedly. Then who does the champion fight?
