can you swap the tripod head?

Mine is on order along with a replacement for the very top of the center column that will allow you to put a new head on... It is less than $30 USD so I may get another one so I can keep one on a geared head for macro, and astronomy use, and another on a pan/tilt(or maybe a very small fluid head if I can find one I like)... That way I could switch in less than 30 seconds as all you have to do is flip that lever on the main part of the center column, detach the old one and reattach the new one... Or even faster if you do not need the full length center column, as that is the normal way to use it anyway if you are doing low angle work, so it is perfectly safe to use it that way...
