- The college football game between Florida State and LSU had an absolutely crazy ending as the game appeared to be over when LSU muffed a punt trailing 24-17 with two minutes left. However, Florida State fumbled on the goal line, giving LSU a chance to drive 99 yards to tie the game... and they did exactly that. However, the extra point attempt was blocked and Florida State survived 24-23.

A muffed is dead on recovery. If it was a fumble than it can be returned.

As a college football fan one game can ruin your entire season that is why it is the best sport. Baseball you can lose 62 games and be an all time great team. Baseball is dying cause of that. College Football is KING AND SO IS THE NFL

Tessitore and Gus Johnson are by far the most intense booth guys in sports. I love their enthusiasm and I wish both had gone farther in their careers than they have. Instead of these guys (as well as Kevin Harlan) getting the best NFL gigs, we get lame-o's like Jim Nantz and Joe Buck. Ugh.

When LSU marched 99 yards, I was losing my mind. The Noles have had too many games in years past where they ended up on the wrong end of the score board. It was a great game to watch. Can't wait to see your Tigers down in Orlando next year.

Joe Tessitore is one of THE absolute best in the business, bar none. I'm still a bit bitter over him not getting more of a chance on MNF than he did. I'd listen to ANY game he calls, even if it's a sport I've never heard of.

Just watched this live and was waiting on this post, that ending was crazy.
This hurts as an LSU fan, so many emotions I felt between the touchdown to the blocked kick. Props to Florida State, they definitely wanted this win. So many things my team needs to fix before the next week and the start of the Sec showdowns.

One of the craziest endings to any college football game I have ever seen. The momentum kept swinging back and forth in those last five minutes of the game. As a FSU fan, I’m so relieved they held on the W after almost blowing the game from thsr botched pitch and giving up the TD at the end. What a clutch play though by FSU! And the crowd reaction? Chills!This is a moment in sports history that won’t be forgotten. Wow!

On the extra point that was blocked, the left wing for LSU could not have been any more useless. He just stood still at the snap and let both the inside and outside rusher by him. Obviously he should have blocked the inside rusher (who blocked the kick), but he actually managed to block neither. Great job.

That's exactly what I told my friends, I was like, the wing did absolutely nothing on that side, his job is to block down and not let anyone shoot inside gap.

Blocking the inside man is the first thing they teach you on the line for extra points and field goals I don't understand how it was too hard for him

As a Noles fan here’s how I have this up in my head cannon: FSU plays one of its finest games-scratch that-THE finest game in at least 5 years up to that point. We didn’t actually think we stood a chance. The ball’s on the one, no way we mess it up, just score and seal the game. But of course, this is Florida State. It’s 99 yards of pure dread, the dream of us being back is dead, back to the pits of the ACC we return. But Shyheim Brown dreads that more than the fans and saves the season.
This hasn’t been our best season but it has been my favorite. I love watching this team and I love watching Coach.
As a lsu fan this is just a classic lsu moment. Gg to FSU. I think we will be good once Brian Kelly has a full team of his own recruits

Literally no one had the guy who blocked the kick accounted for. This was a special teams problem 100%.
Even as it was being blocked, it still managed to hit the lower crossbar (not too uncommonon on such short kicks), and the goalpost said, nope, not today.
