I am Jamaican, and I totally embrace unity and appreciation for all our Caribbean islands. 🥰🥰
Yess same. Me too 🙏🏾
@@RiazPhillips Trinidad also has roots in the the French Caribbean Islands and Venezuela.
I don't like when Trinidad brag about how they are richer than Jamaica when their quality of life is the same! In all these islands, rich people getting richer and poor people getting poorer. So it's not so much about the GDP, it's about how the average person is actually living!
How about everyone 🤔
I don’t go to carnival for the music I go for the exotic women
I'm from Trinidad and Tobago , love how you put together this video perfectly not to compare us negatively to our Jamaica family. We are all unique and respect each other culture. The world need to see how we are living in unity amongst our fellow Caribbean people. Keep up the great work king 🤴
Thank you!
This is an excellent and objective video. I am a Trinidadian currently living and studying in Jamaica. I can attest to the validity of your comments. I love the way you choose to let people decide about what aspect of the Trini or Jamaican culture to love or ignore. The social media has too many silly debates of inter-island rivalry that avoids appreciating the complex diversity of the Caribbean, which can be marketed even better if we avoid trolling each other. Kudos to you!
Thank you!
That part! Well said. ❤
I am Jamaican (100%) and spent several months in Trinidad at a time, and I love it. The people are okay. My hardest time was with one immigrations officer on one trip. I love the tamarind sauce, the duck "thingy", the green mango "season up", the doubles; I even tried the shark fin. I find they really love the Jamaican dancehall vibe. Not to mention the Guyanese that were there, they absolutely adore the Jamaican culture. We are really one people.
All over, we are so different and so similar.
All facts! 🤝
Same experience in Trinidad, the Immigration Officer behaved as if she hated me.
@@soniawilson8219 Sorry, bro. Some people forget that they themselves are people too.
I am a Jamaican living in England but I went to Trinidad on holiday, I stop at Maracas Bay and try the bake and shark, man it spicy and delicious
Yes. One of my faves. Hope you not too cold in England!

@Riaz Phillips 🤣🤣 always too 🥶
I'm jamaican.. I also love trinidad.. Its like the vibes are similar in both country.. They are unique so dont compare.
🙏🙏🙏
Yes very true ,the Caribbean is one , but Jamaica and Trinidad have a unique bond.. i'm Trinidadian by the way much love Jamaica
@@clarkeandrews4870 I see some downright nasty comments about Jamaica, from time to time on these sites.
@@RiazPhillips TT have a special bond, with all the islands sorounding, allyu cluster of islands. Not Jamaicans. The make up of Caricom proves this.
Nothing important to the grouping is ever decided in Jamaica.. Including where Caricom headquarters is located.
I am convicted we(Jamaicans
) made the right decision, when we rejected ,the federation . When we look at how Caricom is structured . All the other islands
vote as a block, which typically vote against anyting to benefit Jamaica .
Even the streets ,unlike Jamaica, aren't ever named after places in Jamaica, as we do.
Much love my Jamaican 🇯🇲 brother
Greetings from Trinidad🇹🇹
I love this because it is so positive. Too many Caribbean videos compare and depend on the author one country is better than the other. This video is balanced. Thank you, sir.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
He did say Trinidad had the best Carnival! I mean for their country yes, but dancehall and reggae is world wide and we have a lot of big sunsplash parties to rival! We don't really play soca music in our country that's why it's not really popular but Trinidad play a lot of reggae and dancehall music. Even a lot of their artist try to chant in patois...Let's just put it this way, each island has their own music and style so no need to compare!
@@jennalud4748 well people no Brasil in Trinidad for their carnival so I understand why he said there carnivals the best because the other Islands try to duplicate it but don't compare
@@RiazPhillips NEW Subscriber here. This is probably the 1st time I came across ur channel & 1st video I watched. LOVED IT!!!! Greetings from Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 Keep up the great work!!!
I agree. It's great to see ppl outside of the Caribbean, trying to become well informed of the differences of all the islands. We may have some similarities, BUT we're all very unique. Food, culture, vocal dialects etc.
I am Trinidadian. You did your research my brother. Well done.
I'm Jamaican and has never visited any other Caribbean island. Now I need to figure how to change. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, Its a shame they make it so expensive to fly to other Caribbean islands from one to another
Great analogy of comparison of both countries I really enjoyed this unbiased opinions which are uncommon when comes to T&T and Jamaica good to know you had spent time in both countries to understand their cultures and people
Thank you!
I am of Jamaican and Trinidad heritage. I have been Jamaica many times and I am finally going Trinidad this year. Thank you for this video, well done😊
This was so well done. I'm of Jamaican descent (now living in the U.S.). I had roti today which I absolutely love. Looking forward to your other videos about the Caribbean.
P.S. Tobago is definitely on my bucket list. Looks beautiful.
Thank you! You wont regret Tobago!
The way this video started, hit the nail on the head, every educational and a really good comparison
Thank you!
Just discovered your video I'm from Trinidad and I love my Jamaican people every day thanks for showing the beauty of us all.
Thanks for watching

As a Jamaican and Trini I am deeply honoured by this video ❤
I love your video. Caribbean people are real foodies and party people. You did an amazing job of telling some of our story. Thanks. 🇯🇲
Chandon Beni or bandania is called spirit weed in Jamaica. They don't cook with it. When I tell them it's a good seasoning, some them get tickled, some a them get horrified, lol. One of the few places in the Caribbean that don't use it to cook. Jamaicans don't boil and drink mauby, either....madness, lol.
Ah I did forget to mention mauby! There was a lot I didn’t fit in. Ill have to ask my fam if they heard of Spirit weed. Thats Very interesting! Thank you
I'm from Trinidad and I don't drink mauby. Also, my family never cooked with chadon beni and my first taste of it made me feel physically ill. Over the years I've grown more tolerant of it by eating micro-doses.
To God goes all the glory for His everlasting blessings. Welcome back. Missed your vids.🇯🇲🇺🇸🇹🇹

This is the first time watching your channel and I immediately become a new subscriber. The more positive and honest you are with your content, will definitely help your channel go places. I love all Caribbean food!! My husband is Trinidadian and we visited his country for the first time, as a couple, back in 2017. All I can say is “MY GOODNESS, THAT’S SOME GOOD FOOD THERE!” 😋
I’m so excited because we’re going again in May and I plan to lose weight before, because I know I’ll be coming back a lot heavier. 😂
Ha yes, definitely elastic waistbands are needed
As a trini, I love our food…but Jamaican jerk!! Is life!
Glad you loved Trini food. My family who live in the US & UK are always carrying frozen local food back home after they visit during Carnival time LOL!!! (Curry Chicken/Duck, Saheena, Aloo Pie, Pelau, Calalloo etc)
@@keronleons1140 I love Jamaican Jerk as well!!
A well-balanced objective comparison. Kudos. You've gained a new subscriber. ☑

I am Jamaican and our Trini brothers and sisters can cook some nice food, and bake and shark and doubles! Delicious!!!
Really enjoyed this. As a Trinidadian living in the UK and also married to Jamaican love both cultures and countries.
Best of both worlds!
Mi did a wandah weh yu deh enuh! Great to see another video from you. I thought you were Vinci and Jamaican roots. Riaz, Shadow Benny is in Jamaica, but we don't use it as much as Trinidad, in Jamaica it's call Spirit weed and use as herbs for Tea by some people.
I have a big family! Respect and thanks for supporting! I need to look out for Spirit weed. Thank you!
Yes Star, Nuff Respek
This is excellent journalism and the most accurate video I have seen comparing the two islands. You should definitely continue.
Thank you! Will be covering lots of different types of topics
Its not accurate regarding Jamaica
Yea my boy I like what you're doing. Respect from 🇰🇳🇻🇮
🙏 Thank you for the support!
Big up mi Trini people...1 love 🇯🇲❤🇹🇹
"jerking" chicken in the pan isn't technically the actual jerk chicken. Jerk chicken is actually digging a hole and creating something similar to when creating fire coal, with the meat in the middle, covered and left...the drum concept was introduced to emulate the the process of digging a hole n more convenient, but they're 2 different concepts.
Love the side by side comparison 👍👌
Great commentry on both countries ,much love.
I love them both
Reggae (Reggaeton) has taken over the world and has replaced must cultural music world wide. Amazing.
Thank you this was very educational. I’ve been to Jamaica many times. Going to Trinidad soon!!👍🏽❤️✈️
Amazing! Trinidad is great!
Great unbiased video.
I am a Jamaican, and I totally endorse this channel!!

First time going to carribean was December. Where I’m from in USA it’s heavy Jamaican culture restaurants etc. so I’m used to jamaican food being that I’m partial jamaican
Interesting going to Barbados and tasting bajan meal with bajan seasonings, different than jamaican flavor. Interesting. Carribean was great
Thank you! Cant wait to visit barbados
Very well balanced. Excellent job.

Allyeh done know Trinidad have the better food!
🤔🙃

Great video 👍🏾
Appreciate it!
On Lady Young road in Trinidad, I'm pretty sure you went to the Lady Young lookout where Downtown POS is there. It's a beautiful view though.
Yes we did. Went to see the view of POS and got some sweets just there. It was amazing
Every country has their own traditions when coming to food, Jamaican know learning about making different dishes, Jamaican like comparing too much about who's better than who's, God bless everyone with their food and their country, one love ✌️❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️
All true! 🙏
@Riaz Phillips we are all unique ✌️
But you never see a Jamaican making these videos to compare with other island countries, its always other islands doing it, so your claim is invalid. We Jamaicans consider ourselves to be the best so we dont need validation. People who do comparison videos need it. We also have nothing against other countries who call themselves the best, we like when others are confident.
@NativeNomads10 Jamaica is still the same. Nothing changed. Look at the economy and how much one US dollar is?
@@joycerussell4815 A person who doesnt understand economy yet talks about it. If you had sense you would focus on the real value not the nominal value. In Jamaica, even though our nominal value fluctuates, our real value is still better than Trinidad, and even the United states which speak volume. You should focus on you all high unemployment rate and inflation rate
Happy Your Alive and Well King, I have been waiting .....
Thanks for still supporting!
Welcome back brother🌹

wow you're back!👍🇵🇭🔥

Interesting video but some discrepancies. Jamaican callaloo (from the amaranth plant) is not made from dasheen bush and Hellshire is NOT in Kingston but in St Catherine

Can you do videos where you talk about how you do solo trips in the Caribbean? To inspire people who are scared by the "the Caribbean is dangerous" propaganda spun by the west.
Thank you! Possibly but the thing is. Its not always propaganda, it can be very dangerous and intimidating especially for women but ill give it a think 🙏🏾

Hey in Jamaica we eat gungu peas all the time as rice n peas. We love curry & dumpling or provision too.- not just rice. However, curry & rice is more popular. And curry is also traditional in West Africa. The traditional curry and dumplings is made in Botswana and maybe Namibia.
And research Chipati. Everything originated in the motherland. Chipati is also Indian. The Ethiopian apple also called Oti iti is called “apple” in West Africa. I find that it is in many places in the continent.
Thx for sharing.
Boil dumplings in Trinidad was adopted from Jamaica boil dumpling recipe, and yes, we eat Gungo peas. Rice and peas is Jamaican recipe, while Pelau is Trinidad, we also use bud pepper a lot, its grown widely in the rural areas. Mostly used for boiling crab
