    Hi Chris, are you able to share some ideas on what points/topics you included in your personal English action plan? How many slides did you have? Also, if podcasts were part of the plan, what should students do with the podcasts - listen to them and advice what words they did not understand? thanks :)

    Chris, I recently joined off2class with a premium account and am absolutely loving it! It's seriously the best thing for online ESL teachers that I've ever come across. My question is this: I didn't attend the live webinar as it was before I joined, but is there any way to access the handout that Chris spoke about in the beginning that summarizes this awesome mechanism and key points? If so, I'd be so grateful.
    Thanks again for all the work you guys do!

    Thanks Chris. It's helpful for me who's been teaching ESL and IELTS for 22 years. I think off2class is perfect for students in China to use the lessons as homework practices.

    Loved it and learned quite a bit. I'm new to Off2Class and didn't know I could use it linked to other gateways like Italki. I sure could use a mentor like you. I'll even pay you!

    This was so useful, especially the part about giving the student an action plan for 6 months. During theOff2Class has definitely helped me retain my students. Anyway I can get the cheat sheet? Thank you, Chris!

    Also, what if their ‘reason’ is just that they need to score a 7 to get into a certain university?

    • @Off2Class
      @Off2Class  Před rokem

      Our placement test would be a great starting point. For example, if a student wishes to achieve Band 7 in IELTS, the student needs to obtain CEFR C1 or higher. The placement test will show you which areas the student needs to work on, and our curriculum materials combined with our IELTS or TOEFL materials provide the linguistic and structural needs of the student to take these tests. You can see more information about this process here: www.off2class.com/step-by-step-guide-to-teaching-ielts/

  • @kolmst
    @kolmst Před rokem +1

    Hi Chris - Do you just do the Grammar test? Or do you do the whole IELTS placement test for all sections? Thanks!

    • @Off2Class
      @Off2Class  Před rokem

      Hi Kimberly. Just to clarify, the placement test isn't related to IELTS, it's general English. And it's really up to you! Assigning the full test is helpful if you need to assess your students before you even meet them, but if you already have them with you, often the grammar test is enough!

    Hi! I am LOVING Off2 Class! I have started up as an independent online English teacher and in the next few weeks I will be having my first lesson with my first student (EEK!) to work out their personalised English action plan. (That sounds SO much better than trial lesson btw, I have just changed the wording on my website)
    My question is, how do you manage the "Leading with listening" section with a young learner (5, 6 7 years old) who has limited or little English? I think the student's mum would like to see me teach an actual lesson, so do I cover points 1, 2 and 3 with mum, then find a mistake made in the placement test and do the lesson attached to that mistake with the student THEN "Close the deal"?
    Many Thanks, YOU ROCK! :)

    OH my word thank you so much for this webinar I learnt so much! I've just signed up with off 2 class and your video just answered a lot of questions that I have. But I still have few questions.
    1. Just to clarify do you do the placement during the 1st trial lesson in the real time with students?
    2. Please can you advise me with pricing? Like how much do I charge per lesson or per course I'm new to online teaching.
    3. I need serious help with marketing my business do you think italk can help me with this?
    Once again thank you so much for this video.

    Hi, Chris, thanks for all this useful info. I'm a Spanish teacher trying to start as an entreproneur, and I'm not finding many tips for online Spanish teachers, as there is for online English teachers on the Internet, so how can I find out whenever you hold a webinar if I'm not part of Off2class (cause I don't teach English obviously, rather than cos I don't like your website XD)? I really like the way you provide us with your knowledge about it.

    When you use off2class how is it possible to use a whiteboard. in case the teacher wants to write something? I am also wondering whether this can also happen while the ss' watch live the teacher. how many windows can you have open in off2 class. Thank you in advance.

    • @Off2Class
      @Off2Class  Před 7 lety

      Hi Stratos, all of our lessons come with a whiteboard (we call it a canvas) and in any lesson, you can press the canvas button and you will go from the lesson content to the canvas. Using our live mode, when the teacher goes to the canvas the student will get taken there too! Watch our demo video here: czcams.com/video/68ok_ENJt48/video.html
