This is the first time that I both hate and love the villain in a drama.The emperor is such a powerful character that you would hate him in the beginning but funny as well.So happy I got to watch this. Jang Nara might be the reason why I decided to watch it but all three of them is the reason why I stayed

You know his character is bad and deserved to be punished but you still want him to be loved at the same time. Shin Sung-rok is such a good actor. I never knew he existed before this drama. He practically stole the whole drama from the male lead. I'm neither fan of both actors but I do find his acting matches with Jang Nara even though I heard he's more of a famous Musical actor. I hope he gets a lead role after this drama. He played the emperor's complex character very well. Even though he's so evil but I can't hate him. I think he's such a pitiful character. But I can't seem to feel Choi Jin Hyuk's feelings in his character. Even though he acted well, I just don't feel what his character is feeling. Like the intense hurt and anger.
He was in my love from another star he play a villain there too! He is indeed a great actor! Seems like he is in the drama a man who dies to live As well!

He really delivers, even as an evil character when he acts childish and funny it doesn't seem awkward at all. The chief guard character is a bit too stiff for my liking, but since everything about him is fake after all, it would make sense for him to always holding in. Maybe because he keeps having straight face in this drama, in Emergency Couple he delivered emotions really well.

I think the emperor's character has a much broader opportunity for creativity. In the beginning he was also quite stiff but as his inner being is being peeled layer by layer we see his transformation. It's just amazing. And now I kinda feel sad for him as he falls in love with the empress. I see their chemistry more than with CJH. Even when they are at odds with each other there's chemistry.
...are they both best actors?...whoever is the villain is equally as important as the leading actor...i salute this villain who really played with his heart and soul in this k drama...he did well or better yet...even better than the lead man...he is equally the lead man as well except that he played the villain role...

I watch this drama because of jang nara and choi jin hyuk. Jang nara potrayed a naive girl try to live in this harsh world. Sound cliché, but I always watch all her drama (although some of her work I don't complete watching it because in the middle I found it boring). At first, I found the story line is cliché, but the twist is so interesting and not mainstream. And choi jin hyuk smile.. i always love when he smile and also his voice. So lovely. This is the best drama I watch in 2018 👏👏 well honestly, nowdays I'm not into K drama but Last Empress made me watch K drama again
These two have such distinct performances in the drama-congrats to them and shout-out to Tae Hang Ho, who played Choi Jin Hyuk’s character beautifully in the opening episodes as well.
I know about Shin Sun Rok after Liar Game drama. Since then I always try to watch any drama of him. I like his acting, his voice, the diction sounds sooo good, and his appearance itself looks manly and somehow "evil". This drama have 3 my favorite Korean actor/actress: Jang Na Ra, Shin Su Rok, and Choi Jin Hyuk. 😉👍🏼 Meanwhile Lee Elijah, I know her after Running Man and I like her personality, she's pretty absurd with that beauty face. 😅 On this drama, her role is such an annoying character but she gives me a slight sad emotions in there. I first watch him in on the way to the airport. Man who not appreciating his wife. And this drama too. Please be a good husband in real life please.
