I had 2 cesareans. Both of my sons were over 10 pounds. I hate how women are shamed if they don’t have a ‘natural birth.’ Hey, what is ‘natural’ is growing a baby inside of your uterus for 9 months and then having it extracted, one way or another.
Without a C section my mother would’ve been a classic childbirth casualty. She was too small to deliver naturally, we couldn’t pass through her pelvis. One of her coworkers actually shamed her for going C section and my grandmother, who had dropped her off and was hanging around, said “Look honey, if you’re willing to die in childbirth that’s YOUR business and you’re welcome to it.” Ouch 😂
I’m sure there is some shaming for getting epidural, but there is certainly shaming for doing home births. I’ve gotten that from more than a handful of women.
I had natural….I had epidural….I had c section. I breastfed and then I just did formula. It’s ALL good. Just as long as you love and care for the baby. It doesn’t really matter how you do it! Mothers we are strong! ❤
Yesss, I had an unmedicated labor and also a medicated labor, I also did formula only and then breastfeed and thank god my kids are healthy and great ❤ as long you love and do what’s best for baby & yourself as a mama WE are doing an amazing MAMA🙏🏻
@@tequilabumbum4373 it definitely is more difficult. It takes you on average two weeks to heal from the C-section. no heavy, lifting, straining, etc. I had a natural birth, and then I had a C-section. The C-section was more difficult to deal with.
@@medico8504 i just gave birth on june 2nd with an epidural - the only pain i had was a little pain when they placed it, it was a pinch and a little bit of a burn. afterwards no pain at all after it was removed but i did have a reaction from the tape they used around it. otherwise it was great and i would definitely recommend it!! my contractions were so painful before the epidural and afterwards i had a great, quick delivery with my son. 😊
@@hannahtoebeansso they really aren’t as painful as everyone makes them seem? i give birth in about a month & a half and i plan on getting it but i’m scared it’s gonna be extremely painful 😭

@hannahsmith-impellizeri3207 awee that's my birthday🥺 happy really late birthday to my FIRST birthday twin! I hope you guys are thriving today & have no issues in the future you're amazing mama!
It really gets me how ppl can take any credit away from someone if they had some assistance. Its still an amazing feat for the female body! What it goes through during childbirth is extremely painful but also a beautiful miracle. No matter how you bring that baby into the world, you're amazing for doing it!
@@azraorucevic2438 Another uninformed individual making a comment. I endured 40hrs of labour before the medical team realised I wasn’t going to give birth naturally. By the time I went under the knife the epidural which I had 8hrs prior had worn off. The pain was so unbearable I said to the team that I could feel myself being cut open. They asked me where the pain was and as soon as I told them they panicked.
I wanted a silent natural birth. I ended up screaming at every contraction i had after 7cm and begging for pain relief. But it was too late, so i had the natural birth i wanted in the end, lol
@@therealdes296 Do you know why it's dangerous after 7cm? When I reached 8cm I received an epidural and only afterwards the nurses told the doctor how dilated I was. The doctor was clearly upset with them and said they should have told her. (everything was fine)
I was the same! I wanted to do an unmedicated birth but was open to an epidural if need be. Well, my water broke and I was admitted to the hospital at 6cm dilated. I already couldn't handle the pain, so when the nurse said I was progressing too fast and needed to decide on the epidural then and there or it'd be too late, I went with my gut and said yes. Within 1.5 hrs, I was at 10cm and my contractions were way longer than average. It was unbearable waiting for the needle to come, but my god was it the best decision I ever made! The rest of my delivery was calm, quiet, and amazing. I will never shame someone for taking pain medication. What matters is a healthy mom and healthy baby 👶 💕
What a beautiful baby momma 💜.. currently 28wks with a little girl and praying she's our rainbow baby.. I've had several miscarriages have never made it this far... so far so good thinking positive and praying
Sorry for what you’ve been through, but take heart! Your little one is 28 weeks(29 now it seems) so even if the worst were to happen and they were born this week they would have an over 90% chance of a perfectly healthy life.
I had no desire to be in pain and i didn't personally see it as an accomplishment. Preg again and will get pain relief like my first. My first delivery went so well felt my contractions but no pain pushed beautifully ❤
@@faithrachel7696same here. I went to the hospital at 6cm and told them to give me the epidural lol. Was in so much pain at home I couldn’t take it lol
I had my first son at 17 years old, and my 2nd one eight years later, both were natural . You know your body best. As long as the baby and the mama are well, that is all that better ❤❤
Just wanted to share for the people reading comments looking for reassurance one way or another. I planned a home birth with a midwife. Started having contractions around 0700 and water broke on the 3rd contraction. Starting off they were already 5-7 minutes apart. Within 2 hours they were 2-3 minutes apart with some around a minute. After laboring at home for 15 hours I was only dilated to 4cm and my blood pressure was 170/110. My husband and I are both nurses and understood this wasn’t worth trying to stay home to see if this improves. My contractions were INSANE. The only position that was bearable was standing and rocking holding onto my husband. Fast forward to getting to the hospital, BP still high, they ask if I want an epidural and I was more than happy to accept at this point. Epidural was done around 11 pm and the anesthesiologist was easily my favorite person I had met. There were 3 separate times that due to position changes it stopped working on my right side for some reason and it was borderline unbearable lying down. I had no back labor but it hurt so bad down my right hip and thigh. Turns out after babe was on the monitor his heart rate was dropping after contractions, so they replaced my amniotic fluid and he was okay after that. I was on pitocin after the epidural and still did not have him until 36 hours after labor started. My nurse was amazing and we did spinning baby moves for hours because baby wasn’t moving down. They believe he was malpositioned against the right side of my pelvis. I truly think if that nurse wouldn’t have been there I would have ended up having a c-section. My baby’s birth was absolutely nothing like I had planned, but it was an amazing experience. I did everything I could throughout pregnancy, educated myself to the fullest, tons of evidence based research and had a great pregnancy. I did all the “tricks” like red raspberry leaf tea, dates, etc. I went to the gym 6 days a week, but my body and my baby needed help. Thanks for sticking it out if you made it this far. 😂 This all to say, I would love to try another home birth, or at least a less medicalized birth at a birthing center or a hospital but I am at peace with my experience. ❤
Girl I’m in my third trimester and this story was not reassuring at all 😂😂 it was frightening - as someone with trauma and striving for an all natural labor
@@alexisy7056I was scarred so bad had my first on oct 28 all I can say is I stayed home when the contractions started n I waited till they were less than four mins apart and when I went to the hospital it was painful ain’t gonna lie but I tried not to hold down there and act like I was going to the number 2 the whole time will it hurt most definitely but once ur lil human is out it’s a relief like finally
I was in labor for 18 hours and stuck at 4 cm, all natural. Then they said I needed pitocin, and at that point I said okay fine but I want an epidural. After that epidural I felt so much better, and was so much more relaxed. I even got a short nap in. Between the pitocin and my body finally relaxing. I had my son after a total of 26 hours of labor. I'm now almost halfway through my second pregnancy and fully plan to get an epidural from the start. It doesn't matter how your babies come ladies, it's just matters that you and the baby are healthy and safe!
I've had 5 epidural, don't have any back pain. I was induced every pregnancy and though I tried to go natural, always ended up getting the epidural. Sometimes when you're induced, your body isn't ready for birth and just won't relax. With the epidural, it's like my body finally said "OK, let's go."
@@emilyh8115I know my body wasn’t ready for birth that I was so stressed out and can barely breathe. Relied upon laughing gas too much and I gave up. I cried when making the decision of requesting for epidural at 4cm. But it helped me to have the energy to push 3 hours later. This was 2nd pregnancy and my labour was 15 hours😊
I wanted a natural birth too, but mine was an emergency c section micro preemie. I’ll never feel ashamed of that cuz i got my baby boy in the end and i still had a long recovery 😅
I had 1 c section and 3 natural and the c section was so much worse. I really give women lots of credit who have c sections. Those are so hard. I’m now 9 mo pregnant with my 5th and will be having a natural birth hopefully with an epidural. My last birth back in 2021 was with no epidural and that was sooooooooooo painful omg I’m traumatized.
I had a homebirth with no drugs but I cannot imagine being in a hospital bed and still not get paid meds. I only layer down for 2 contractions and they were the most painful I had. If you want a natural birth I suggest not being on your back in a bed! But with that being said, I would've killed for a nap during my labor so I totally get people wanting an epidural to be able to actually rest. No judgement either way(: whatever makes mama feel good
I wanted all natural. But after 2 days back labor and not progressing I needed Pitocin. I told them I wanted the epidural first. Im so grateful I did it. I was finally able to sleep 🙌🏾. Apparently I slept too long because slept through the rest of my labor. I completely slept through transition. And they had to wake me up because I was fully dilated and needed to push 🤣. Childbirth is amazing no matter how you do it!
brookew2403 I guarantee you that you would not say "child birth is amazing no matter how you do it" if you had a natural unmedicated child birth. Of course, your child birth was amazing because you had an epidural and didn't feel any pain and actually slept. But not child births are amazing.
My labor was induced on a Wednesday night and made it to early Friday morning before I gave in to getting an epidural and then slept like a baby with no pain till I gave birth to her later in the morning. I felt so disappointed in myself but looking back it made the experience so much more pleasant.
Induction Contraction are far and away worse than natural ones...I've had 5 babies and 2 needed pitocin. Both of those I needed epidural. Despite my natural births going as planned I never feel any remorse for getting and epidural for the pitocin contractions.
This is exactly how I felt. I would've loved to go natural but I also wanted to enjoy my vbac experience and relax. I got an epidural at 4 and I could've kept going easily. My epidural slipped out and I was feeling 8cm contractions, thank god the anesthesiologist was on the floor still and he got another put in.
I had to go no contact with the one woman who I needed to tell me that I'm not weak for giving in. I needed this video deeply as I'm being induced tomorrow. Thank you for reminding me that I'm strong no matter what happens. Thank you for reminding me of why I'm doing all of this either way.
I had mine at 2 cm - I absolutely could not take it. Bad ass mama for making it halfway!! And I’m proud of you for allowing yourself to get the epidural 💕
Needed to hear this as I am planning to have a natural birth as well but am afraid I won’t be able to handle the pain so I am staying open! So glad you were able to enjoy the delivery 💚
I don’t have insurance, and where I’m from you have to pay for an epidural up front. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it, and had no choice but to have a natural birth. It was the most painful experience of my life. But I made it!
@@jomc20 that does not seem like an American thing. In America the use of a epidural is extremely common. I’ve never heard of anyone having to pay upfront for medical expenses regarding birth (in America) sounds German to be honest, they have a poor birth and labor track record.
@@Rachel-yx2xn in america yes it does happen lots , sweet Jesus is it expensive, my mom had 5 all natural :/ and charged her hella for her emergency c section and epidural. and maybe not upfront but even if its charging by oh this amount due xyz, every two weeks etc. some people just cannot afford it in our system 😢
If any of you ladies wish to go natural without an epidural, my advice to you is to go through most of you contractions/ labor pains at home, you can cook clean, organize the house, run errands, go for a walk. You’ll know when it’s time fight through it. I found it to be faster and more comfortable distracting myself and staying busy rather than constricting myself to a hospital bed and a bed pan. Good luck ladies. I had always told myself I would have a natural birth because I believed that it was a gift to give birth the way my ancestors did. It was such an humbling and satisfying experience to make it through 2 births.
Me too I waited all night for my labor when everyone was sleep and went to the hospital in the morning I like that you didn’t rush to boring hospital bed I hate it most uncomfortable but It’s only this country that are pregnant ladies kept in bed not the same every where
@@deeqaabdullahi5777 exactly only in America 🇺🇸. It doesn’t make since when we all know how gravity works. How is pushing on your back even normal but hey I have my views & not everyone will agree. If your healthy otherwise there isn’t a need to go to hospital right away. If I have a third child I will be having a home birth. I lie to not by the time my extended family came to see me I was walking the halls and all when they came to see the baby 😂. My dad was like wait you sure you just had a baby? 🤣
Every pregnancy is totally different. I also had 2 births that were natural and no complications at all. No medicaments whatsoever. Was walking most of the time. Feld like a piece of cake. Even the contractions were like strong menstruations cramps for me. And I was like why do they exaggerate about giving birth. It is obviously not that hard. THEN came my third (and last) pregnancy. A total Horrorshow. The birth itself was also almost everything what women who has a bad experience has. It ended in a C-section. The recovery afterwards was also hard. But so glad that we have the possibility of C-sections and modern medicine. If not me and my baby wouldn't survive. No one is better or less when they birth naturally, epidural or C-section. The most important thing is that they all survive and the mother is content at the end. Happy mom, happy child.
@@candy405 yes that what I planned too. A Home birth. 🤣 Because my first 2 were easy. So glad my husband insisted otherwise or I would have died. But every pregnancy is different. Not only Evey women. Every pregnancy is different. I have learned that the hard way.

There’s no set way to have a baby. Everyone’s birth experience is different, you don’t know how your bodies going to react. NEVER feel less if you got an epidural. ALL women are AMAZING. You delivered a baby, that’s a miracle in itself. Congratulations to all mama’s ❤
They asked me if I wanted the epidural at 3cm and I already knew I wanted it. Let me tell you… with all the horror stories of an epidural it made me nervous but I knew I needed it and got it and finally got to sleep then I got woken up and the nurse said “honey you’re at a 10 and your water broke in your sleep. Time to have this baby” had her 15 minutes later ❤
Yh it’s a very mixed experience cause some have bad experiences and some have good. I would personally avoid it because I have scoliosis and I know something will mess up. 💀
And you are amazing! I held off with my first two as long as I could & also got epidurals. Yes, our mothers & grandmothers did it, but I bet if they had a choice of having an epidural, they would take it
@@dayanerafleets6278 Tbh I support whatever someone wants to get but getting an epidural can slow down labour and can get the baby stuck (happened to my mum with me) and it can cause semi-permanent or sometimes permanent back pain in the area. Some don’t have a choice either. I need to avoid it as much as possible in the future because I have scoliosis.
Lol this. If it's a challenge/ personal goal you want to achieve for yourself...go for it! But if youre doing it for some type of pat on the back or special recognition from others, youre gonna be real dissapointed when you realize no one cares. I have never once regretted my epidural because someone else did it unmedicated. I was literally texting everyone during my delivery saying "yo this epidural is amazing!!" Haha. We are bringing LIFE into this world! That's the amazing part and what deserves celebration! C-section, medicated or not, at home or at the hospital, laying on your back or squatting like youre taking a poop. Does. Not. Matter. It's all beautiful and unique to you.
I never understood this stigma. Epidural or not, c-section or not, you are bringing life into this world and it is amazing! C-section is NO walk in the park at all. I am having our first baby this July. It never even crossed my mind that I’d rather have it one way or another. I won’t even be devastated if I can’t breastfeed! I just want our baby to arrive safely and we will do everything in our power to be the best parents we can be. That’s all it’s about.
It’s just that this particular intervention often leads to other medical interventions and can complicate the labor process and have longer term and short term impact on mother (and baby) including having to labor flat on your back, the least optimal position for delivery, and especially if not administered properly (placement, timing etc). But when done right it’ll definitely deliver that welcomed pain relief. As a second time mom who just had a natural birth (and truly loved my experience) if you go to 8cm or more dilated…KEEP going. The hardest part is behind you! 💪❤️✨ at 5cm…it’s probably more worth it, then you can coast along on the epidural for the through “transition” (8-10cm) then on to pushing. Pushing is the easiest part! Our bodies are amazing 👏
@@tarahpi7821 I have chronic vaginal pain vulvodynia. Im gonna take that pain killer probably. I’ll try water birth first cuz warm water is a good coping mechanism

I went in not wanting an epidural, even told my husband to help me with breathing exercises, I made it until I was 7cm. I was stuck on 7cm for awhile and couldn’t deal with my contractions anymore. I got an epidural and I’m so glad I did, it felt like I needed to go to the bathroom
Thank you! You're so strong! I have epilepsy, but have always wanted a natural birth. However, the stress could cause me to have a siezure during or after birth.
I am so glad that it worked for you. For me the 1st time didn't work. So I felt ALL the pain. And with my 2nd I was convulsing. I can only get the spinal tap.
I just had a natural at-home water birth two weeks ago and couldn’t be happier! ❤️✨ That said, you are still incredible! You carried, nurtured and birthed your baby into this world! And you enjoyed your experience. What matters is that you did what felt right for you and your baby and YOU DID IT! Hats off to all wonderful mothers out there 💪👏💙💗✨
I'm glad you went ahead and got it. I didn't give in till it was too late to get one and I absolutely hated my first birth. I would never do it again. I'm glad I did natural but honestly I wish I had gotten the epidural my experience was traumatizing. My water would not break I was in so much pain. It was unreal. Proud of you mama you made the right choice for u and your baby❤️
I honestly give props to the moms that go through with the epidural. I’m honestly more afraid of needles, than pushing my babies out. I think I cried more when the nurse kept poking me with the needle because she was struggling to put the iv in.
Surprisingly, the epidural was the least painful part. The IV placement, cervix checks, contractions, and vomiting/shaking during contractions were way more painful. God willing, if I give birth again I will most definitely ask for an epidural again. I think I would’ve passed out from the pain during delivery and the stitching (2nd degree tear) afterward if I hadn’t 😅
@@viancacox6551 I don’t think you understand how bad this needle fear is. I have scoliosis too so chances of something going wrong are so much higher. Even if I didn’t I wouldn’t get it because the mere idea of a needle in my spine makes me start shivering, squirming and I feel nauseous. The things you stated give me less anxiety than the needle. 💀
Omg girl I didn’t even think about trying a natural birth. Got the epidural as soon as I possibly could and I luckily didn’t feel any pain at all up until that point or at all after I got it. 😁
I had my first son at the age of 18 and my second child was a beautiful baby girl at the age or 23 and both normal with no epidural but I’m now 38 years old and on my 3 child I’m four months pregnant I think with this one I will need the epidural 🥰 it’s a beautiful blessing giving birth
I want to give it my all to try and go unmedicated, but I absolutely am not opposed to medications or interventions. You plan and then sometimes you have to be flexible. No shame from me to anyone. You did your best. You actually made it pretty far without medication. And it’s good that the epidural helped you enjoy your birth.
My first baby I went in thinking “imma do a natural birth” because so many women scared me about the epidural 🙄 and then I lasted until 6cm before I gave up and got the epidural. However my 2nd baby I told the nurse I was getting an epidural as soon as I got in the hospital 😂
how was it when you got it?? everybody has been trying to scare me out of it aswell saying it hurts more than contractions and i don’t think i’ll be able to do it unmedicated😭
@@kisses4m. hurts more than the contractions??😭😭 no way, or at least for me. The contractions are another level of pain that when i got the epidural done i didnt feel any real pain. Also im pretty sure they numb u first. Dont worry just listen to your body and so WHAT U WANT!
I was induced on my 2nd child it was a nightmare had labour pains for 3 days solid and knew I was getting clone to having him. They refused pain relief and kept telling me I wasn't in labour it was just what they were giving me. My waters broke they then examined me and rushed me to a delivery room and told I could only have some gas and air as it is too late for anything else. I had him 30 minutes later it was not the best experience.
listening to you body and what you need in the moment and adapting based on what's happening right now shouldn't be considered giving in. You did so well giving birth to a gorgeous, perfect little baby and you're amazing for listening to what your body needed as it was actually happening rather than holding onto an idea you had before of what you thought it would be like. You rock!
Honestly, I wanted natural birth and least pain relief... ended up being 3 days of contractions eventually induced to speed up contractions as was stuck at 3cm dilated overnight... omg, the contractions became unbearable. Told them to have epidural setup in advance in case I want it, which they didn't, so they had to wait ages to get it (after they said Ican't have it), but honestly, it helped so much. Got to 6cm in the end but as they were monitoring the heartbeat of the baby going up and down with each contraction, which got worrying. Tired and exhausted, I agreed to the section in the end. No regrets at all and would have epidural much earlier next time round! Just wish that Drs had been more helpful and gave appropriate pain relief in timely manner as requested, but also grateful that my baby boy is here safe and well, and my operation was done really well too with minimal scarring and quite a quick recovery to be honest xx
i don’t understand all that with “natural birth.” like, if you can have no pain, why would you choose pain?? is it better for the baby? no. so who cares???
I got an epidural after 3 or 4 centimeters. I didn't mind whether it was a natural birth or not, but I held myself back from it as long as I could because I am horribly afraid of needles and could barely even stand to have the IV placed. I got through the first contractions, but the pain and exhaustion began to feel more overwhelming than the thought of another needle stuck in me. And honestly? The epidural was so much easier than the IV in my arm 😂
I was induced at 9am started having strong contractions a little after noon. I started to have labor shakes so bad I couldn't be standing and ended up having to get an epidural. I'm so glad that I did. Sweet girl came just before 11pm and I was able to fully focus my energy on getting her out and holding her right away!
Remember, you don’t get a cookie for putting yourself through physical and mental pain and stressing yourself and baby out to the max! So don’t feel bad for using pain relief! I understand that’s what people used to do, but that’s because they were forced not having todays medicine 😊
Getting the epidural was the best decision I made. I was afraid of getting it but it helped me through my labor. I ended up with first and second perineal tears due to a complicated vaginal birth where the vacuum was used to extract my sweet Angel. It is all worth it when I saw my baby for the first time.
I don’t understand why some women wants “natural” birth. The epidural is there to help you have an easier and comfortable delivery. Most countries don’t even get that option. Getting an epidural or not does not make your birth any better or be ashamed of.
I'm more scared of the needle of the epidural than having a natural birth. I'm scared of the side effects of epidural such as it hitting the spine and needing a C-section because labor takes too long. I've had 2 babies and am pregnant with my third.
I really wanted to have a natural birth and when I reached 7cm it was too painful so I ended up getting an epidural! I think it was the best decision for me, my husband and my baby! It was beautiful and quiet. We will cherish those moments forever! ❤
That Epidural is a Life Saver Sometimes. I'm Pregnant and This isn't My First Rodeo. If Your Blessed Enough Not To Need it Then Great But Never Feel Bad For Asking For Pain Relief. You Did a Great Job & Congratulations On Your New Edition!!! Have a Blessed Life!!!
My husband forced me to get the epidural at 9cm, even though the pain was still manageable. After 9cm, my body stopped progressing and I kept almost passing out. A few hours later, I was still at 9cm. My water would not break, I kept almost passing out, then I almost had a seizure. I got the epidural and 6 hours later my first child was born. Rowland Clark was born on 12.22.2022 at 2:15 pm. 7 lbs 9 oz. 18 inches long. 💙
i was gonna go all natural and then i was induced and the pain was too much and also glad i got it i slept three times and woke up with my son falling out of me, best plan is the flexible one, good job mama
Same sis, same! Down to the centimeter. I really enjoyed my birthing experience following my epidural. Us women are strong, resilient, and beyond amazing no matter how we choose to bring our babies into this world! We are divine ❤ All my love to you
People from the west are really interesting. In Africa 90% or more of mother's give birth without an epidural. It's unheard of in some parts of the continent so I'm just wandering why this is a big deal.
Cause some women would bash a women cause they think she’s taking the easy way out n cause ur women n designed to give birth u should basically take it n get over it but not everyone is the same so it simply won’t work naturally for some people ( not saying a women’s soul purpose is child birth either )
It takes all the pain and anguish away from the experience. You won’t feel contractions or tearing in the moment. The only thing you feel pressure when the baby is coming out. Of course after it wears off you feel the same as you would if you had done it natural but it makes the actual labor and delivery far less traumatic and physical strenuous.
Congrats on you’re beautiful blessing. I personally have 4 children 2 with epidural and 2 without. The reason why I decided not to get it was because I have a-lot of back lower and upper pain and I strongly believe it’s due to the epidural. I know many people that relate and others that don’t. I believe is a personal decision whether to get it or not and based on that it doesn’t make you less or more of a mother. Although in my personal experience I can say that it’s a-lot more painful when you don’t get epidural because it numbs the contractions during the time period. But at the end Once you’re ready for the expulsion I feel like the pain is the same. ☺️ Overall I feel like you embrace and value more that moment of pain that you naturally go through. Well whether you get it or not is you’re decision and you might have you’re personal reasons I congratulate each women for saying yes to life! Regardless of how you end up bringing you’re baby to life. Blessings. 😘🙏🏻
You did great! Thanks for sharing your story!!! This is so helpfull for others ❤❤❤ Always remember that you are strong no matter if you got the epidural or not ❤❤❤
i was in labour for 56 hours at home. my baby was back 2 back and i couldn’t move him. i have in an had an epidural and everything else. i feel like i let my son down having such a traumatic birth but i do believe everything happens for a reason. thank you for sharing ❤
Don’t feel guilt for not wanting a painful process it is okay and totally perfect, and i bet your kiddo especially wanted you in no pain whatsoever. especially too. or as reduced as possible.❤
I live in Romania and here c-sections are VERY encouraged by doctors.. i was told i won’t be able to give birth naturally altough i really really wanted to. I have a blood disease and they told me i could bleed to death if i naturally give birth. I still believe with all my heart i could’ve given birth naturally .. i had a really hard recovery after c-section and now after almost 4 months i still can’t walk properly. I admire so much the women who go through natural birth.. i really appreciate you!
Wow I’m sorry to hear you were pressured. I just had a natural birth (and truly loved my experience ❤️✨)… there’s no blood until after baby is born where you simply bleed from where the placenta was once attached to the uterine wall. It’s like a menstrual cycle for a couple of weeks postpartum that starts heavier and continually gets lighter until it stops. They can simply give petocin AFTER the natural birth to help the uterus contract and “close the wound” so to speak, from where the placenta was. The c section on the other hand is a major surgery! I’d think THAT would be the concern for bleeding, but they do push c-sections, making a natural process a “medical emergency” when it’s NOT necessary. I hope you heal well and congratulations on the birth of your sweet baby!
@@tarahpi7821 that’s true. I research everything about natural birth and i was feeling ready to do it but the fact that something might happen to me and i won’t live to hold my baby made me anxious…i had the bleeding after the surgery also for a month but very very light, it wasn’t a problem so to speak. Thank you for your kind words, God bless you and your baby!!❤️
@@adadada6263 that’s a very scary thought. If you might have another pregnancy, you might consider getting a second opinion and research VBAC. This is how you might be able to experience a natural birth even after c-section. If not, no regrets. Enjoy motherhood and your baby as well!
I did the exact same thing and now all my kids are adults and trust me, ur going to feel PLENTY of pain that u can’t numb or take away-if ur a good parent that is!!!
Thanks for the encouragement. I am due in December and I have a strong feeling that I am going to end up having an epidural due to my low pain tolerance. 😮💨
Absolutely! Having an epidural doesn't determine how strong you are. It's always the ones who aren't experiencing the pain who are the loudest. If only they knew how painful contractions can be, they wouldn't be so judgmental
I really wish they gave us epidural in Jamaica we ofto feel the labour pains right up to 10 cm before we can push.So I'm glad you were able to have that option to ease the pain 🎉😊.
I had an epidural too and I was adamant I wasn’t going to have it but it gets to much sometimes and you still delivered your beautiful baby so don’t stress it makes you stronger to admit you need the help than pushing through and not enjoying it ! You’re amazing
You go mama! Your birth story is still as amazing as if you hadn’t gone with an epidural. I say if the medication is available why not take it? I was in labor for 30+ hours. I knew before stepping in that I was going to take the epidural - I hate pain so for me it was a no brainer. I was at 4 cm when the nurse encouraged me to get the epidural even though my contractions felt like cramp during that time of the month. SO glad I did not wait because even though I got the epidural it wouldn’t be 30+ hours until I gave birth. Things got scary quick & I ended up in an emergency c-section. NICU team took my baby as soon as she came out. I don’t regret any of it! I gave birth to an amazing 8lb 4oz baby girl
I had a epidural and it was the best decision of my life! I loved it! I heard a women once tell me “you don’t get any award for doing it without the epidural.” So I’m like hey why cause yourself more pain. Get the epidural! 😅
I had 2 cesareans. Both of my sons were over 10 pounds. I hate how women are shamed if they don’t have a ‘natural birth.’ Hey, what is ‘natural’ is growing a baby inside of your uterus for 9 months and then having it extracted, one way or another.
Amen!!!
Without a C section my mother would’ve been a classic childbirth casualty. She was too small to deliver naturally, we couldn’t pass through her pelvis. One of her coworkers actually shamed her for going C section and my grandmother, who had dropped her off and was hanging around, said “Look honey, if you’re willing to die in childbirth that’s YOUR business and you’re welcome to it.”
Ouch 😂
No one is shaming women for not giving birth particular way.
The only thing is natural births are encouraged for obivious reasons.
@@guess7576 Where the heck do you live?? YES women are being shamed, I just shared a story where my mother was shamed for needing a C section!
Thank you! Beautiful words to read. I hope you are having a wonderful 2023! ❤🙂

Yesss, I had an unmedicated labor and also a medicated labor, I also did formula only and then breastfeed and thank god my kids are healthy and great ❤ as long you love and do what’s best for baby & yourself as a mama WE are doing an amazing MAMA🙏🏻
Would you say that having C section and a recovery from it was much harder than the natural? I would appreciate your answer 🙏🏽
@@tequilabumbum4373 it definitely is more difficult. It takes you on average two weeks to heal from the C-section. no heavy, lifting, straining, etc.
I had a natural birth, and then I had a C-section. The C-section was more difficult to deal with.

Thanks for sharing!

Does epidural creates back pain in future
@@kanijesus2065never had back pain after mine

That's awful! Only in America would women be made to suffer because of lack of funds. Its a rotten system.
@@jomc20 that does not seem like an American thing. In America the use of a epidural is extremely common. I’ve never heard of anyone having to pay upfront for medical expenses regarding birth (in America) sounds German to be honest, they have a poor birth and labor track record.

I agree! Just like people saying don’t get a tattoo if you’re gonna use numbing cream. Like I’m sorry, but if I’m getting a big one, I’m using it.
I honestly give props to the moms that go through with the epidural. I’m honestly more afraid of needles, than pushing my babies out. I think I cried more when the nurse kept poking me with the needle because she was struggling to put the iv in.
Surprisingly, the epidural was the least painful part. The IV placement, cervix checks, contractions, and vomiting/shaking during contractions were way more painful. listening to you body and what you need in the moment and adapting based on what's happening right now shouldn't be considered giving in. You did so well giving birth to a gorgeous, perfect little baby and you're amazing for listening to what your body needed as it was actually happening rather than holding onto an idea you had before of what you thought it would be like. You rock!
The epidural always helped me bounce back! My first two I was so weak for whole 6wk wait!
But my last 3 nope because the epidural work wonder’s.
You are far braver than I was.
Taking a needle in my spine was far more terrifying than suffering the exxxxtreeeeme cramping of giving birth.
i don’t understand all that with “natural birth.” like, if you can have no pain, why would you choose pain?? is it better for the baby? no. so who cares???
They just like to brag. Its a dick measuring contest for women.
They gave us no choice back in my day….we felt ALL of the pain!
I wish I cud get dis opportunity, bcs i had to go through the whole labour without medications and it was so traumatic and painful
Remember, you don’t get a cookie for putting yourself through physical and mental pain and stressing yourself and baby out to the max! So don’t feel bad for using pain relief! I understand that’s what people used to do, but that’s because they were forced not having todays medicine 😊
You don't stress the baby out at all..
Getting the epidural was the best decision I made. I was afraid of getting it but it helped me through my labor. I ended up with first and second perineal tears due to a complicated vaginal birth where the vacuum was used to extract my sweet Angel. It is all worth it when I saw my baby for the first time.
Agreed. No one to compete against ourselves but ourselves.
I don’t understand why some women wants “natural” birth. The epidural is there to help you have an easier and comfortable delivery. Most countries don’t even get that option. Getting an epidural or not does not make your birth any better or be ashamed of.
I personally didn’t want to be tied to a bed so in that respect I did find that an medicated birth was better.
I agree with you 🤍🤍🤍 so proud of you sis 🥹🤍
I figure epidural or not that baby is coming out the same "natural" way... pushed out!☺️ 🤍 going no epidural doesn't make you a better momma at all!
Madam is there any use of epidural during delivery process??
@@jhansilakshmi7031 the epidural makes your body stress a lot less. Making it possible for your body to progress.
i was gonna go all natural and then i was induced and the pain was too much and also glad i got it i slept three times and woke up with my son falling out of me, best plan is the flexible one, good job mama
Same sis, same! Down to the centimeter. I really enjoyed my birthing experience following my epidural. Us women are strong, resilient, and beyond amazing no matter how we choose to bring our babies into this world! We are divine ❤ All my love to you
I gave natural birth without epidural. Every women has power to bear this pain .
People from the west are really interesting. In Africa 90% or more of mother's give birth without an epidural. It's unheard of in some parts of the continent so I'm just wandering why this is a big deal.
What’s a big deal the epidural or her talking about it making her equally a mother just cause she did it
Cause some women would bash a women cause they think she’s taking the easy way out n cause ur women n designed to give birth u should basically take it n get over it but not everyone is the same so it simply won’t work naturally for some people ( not saying a women’s soul purpose is child birth either )
Blessings. 😘🙏🏻
Agreeed!! So glad you enjoyed it and it was wonderful for you
You did great! Thanks for sharing your story!!! This is so helpfull for others ❤❤❤ Always remember that you are strong no matter if you got the epidural or not ❤❤❤
Absolutely mama, so long that you and baby are safe 🌻
So encouraging. You tried and succeeded. Look at the result. A gorgeous kid❤
i was in labour for 56 hours at home. my baby was back 2 back and i couldn’t move him. i have in an had an epidural and everything else. i feel like i let my son down having such a traumatic birth but i do believe everything happens for a reason. thank you for sharing ❤
okay I needed this
Don’t feel guilt for not wanting a painful process it is okay and totally perfect, and i bet your kiddo especially wanted you in no pain whatsoever. especially too. or as reduced as possible.❤
Same I wanted no meds. I kept telling myself I can do this but once I got more dilated I couldn’t even take the pain!
Getting induced tonight! Been leaning towards epidural and thinking this is the route to go for me. Wish me luck!
A healthy approach to this topic. Thank you.
You better believe it love, I've had 6 & only 1 without no judgement here sugar. Great video
I did the exact same thing and now all my kids are adults and trust me, ur going to feel PLENTY of pain that u can’t numb or take away-if ur a good parent that is!!!
gosh, us women are so brave 🤍 God bless you all 🫶🏼
Thank you for sharing!! I see so much pro natural birth info, but there is nothing wrong with getting an epidural
There are pros and cons though
Awwww yeah that'd true either it a blessing to u and ur family! 😇💜🙏
What a beautiful message❤
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 Beautiful Baby 👶 ❤️
You're so strong!! I got to 7cm before breaking down and asking for the epidural. It's TOUGH
I loved it!
I heard a women once tell me “you don’t get any award for doing it without the epidural.”
So I’m like hey why cause yourself more pain. Get the epidural! 😅
