    Finally someone made a video addressing this and fixing it, getting ready to do my 07 yukon 2500. Tired of the loss of ac and overheating at stop lights. Thank you foe this👍👌

    Any way you could drop some screenshots of your tune to control these I have done the same conversion and worried I will burn my wiring harness up if I don’t do it correctly

    I have my wiring harness, getting ready to order fans and HP Tuners next. If I would have known the computer part was that easy, I would have done this long ago.

    I have the exact same burban and I’m glad someone is talking about the coolant issue here on CZcams 👍. What year fan and harness did you use? Where they both out of a 1500 Silverado? Also, is the harness plug and play? Thanks in advance!

      The fans are from a 2010 Escalade 7/9 blade. The harness is from a same year Tahoe, but it should work from any matching year 1500 series SUV. Replaced the 2500 harness and then activated the settings in the ECM. I also had to turn up the alternator settings. Hasn't overheated since

    So can I get a 2007 escalade fan to put on my 07 Tahoe? Can I use the same harness and would it improve performance... The AC is reduced at stop lights for some reason

    Thanks for this video, just did the swap on my 2007 Yukon Xl 2500. I avoided swapping the entire harness by just taking the 4 fan wires from the X1 connector to the fuse box on a 1500 harness and adding them to mine. I do have one question, now my voltage seems to run a little low (below 14v maybe like 13) when the fans are running on high in idle. I think you mentioned in a comment that you adjusted some of the alternator parameters, what did you adjust?

      @@shawnmahoney8427 I'm still working on this, honestly. I thought I had it beat and 2 weeks ago, it came back with a vengeance. New alternator and it's still happening. I hope to have an update pretty soon

      @@backyarddoall thanks for the update. Yeah I have a 160 amp high output alternator so I thought I would be set, maybe it's "normal"?

      @@shawnmahoney8427 We went up to KY this weekend. The voltage dropped so low it started having a miss and the transmission started slamming in gear. I had to stand on the brakes to hold it at traffic lights. I shut the A/C off and let it idle in a parking lot for bit. It was fine after that. I have an under drive pulley ordered for the alternator to see if it will speed it up. My problem only happens while idling in traffic.

      Can you please update us with the solution you find for the alternator charging issue? I found a donor to do this to my Suburban 2500😊

    • @backyarddoall
      @backyarddoall  Před měsícem

      @@armondboulware9085 absolutely. I want to be sure I can give you a real fix before I post anything. I don't want to lead anyone down the wrong path. I tried some more changes to the tune and thought I had an answer. A few days later the problem returned, however, not as bad. I hooked my scanner up and can see that it is doing what I command. My underdrive (technically overdrive) pulley showed for the alternator. I just got it swapped onto the truck and so far it looks the most promising. Hopefully, I can have an update in a few days

    I need to do this to my 2007 Chevy Suburban 2500 also. Can I use any harness from a Tahoe, 1500 Suburban, Escalade, GMC Yukon? I've watched other videos and the computer harnesses look different from my 2500 Suburban. I sent you an email too if that makes this easier.

    • @backyarddoall
      @backyarddoall  Před měsícem

      @@JoelHiddema I got a "forward" harness from a Tahoe. I've been told it's the same across SUV's, but I've not verified that. This harness does not go to the computer. It goes to the fuse panel.
      By "forward" harness, I mean the harness that goes from the fuse box to the core support (headlights, horn, washer bottle, electric fans)

    Do you recall the part number for that harness. I cannot seem to find what I am looking for.

    • @backyarddoall
      @backyarddoall  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Call a local salvage yard and tell them you need the front wiring harness for a matching year Tahoe. This is the harness the operates everything on the core support (lights, horn, washer fluid bottle, and fans). I don't recall what I paid, but it wasn't very much
