Queen Mary stuns in an all white dress in her first appearance as a monarch

- Denmark's new Queen Mary was seen in an all-white dress as she appeared on the balcony at Christiansborg Castle on Sunday.
Queen Mary donned a white dress which was designed by Soeren Le Schmidt and sewn by Birgit Hallstein.
The abdication of Queen Margrethe II is well underway.
Queen Margrethe II was the world’s only reigning queen and the longest-serving current monarch in Europe before her abdication.
On the first day of their reign, Mary and Frederik and the entire royal family will participate in the Danish Parliament’s formal celebration of the succession of the throne.
The new King and Queen will also be marked spiritually in a celebratory church service at Aarhus Cathedral on Sunday.

In Denmark, it has been noticed that Mary wears white, Isabella red and Josephine blue - some believe it is a salute to queen Margrethes husbond and King Frederiks father Prince Henri, who was French. It's also the colors of the danish Coat of arms

Who was it a shock abdication to? Queen Margaret told Denmark ages ago, when she feels the time is right, she will abdicate, and she did, the system works perfectly there..the media makes so much fuss of it. It was anyway, a smooth transition. She stepped down, Frederick and Mary stepped up to the plate.
