  • Here is a short video on the MPC ONE Exporting Stems for DAW . this has be the best way I have found to export my mpc one beats to move on for some mixing and mastering in Ableton live. it does not matter what DAW you use this mpc one workflow is easy and fast when it comes to exporting stems. after i have my drums, bass and mpc one sampling, that's when i move to save a project on the mpc one and then start exporting my audio stems. This will work on the MPC LIVE II and the MPC LIVE. i hope this makes it easier for your guy's mpc beats and also fun.

    I’m so appreciative of you mentioning the warp issue inside of ableton I’ve struggled with this with other equipment that I’ve exported stems with .

    If you want to loop the exported tracks perfectly in your DAW, you need to set the audio tail to 0 in the export Dialog.

      @@malobeats You' re welcome! Thx for the work and effort you put in your channel. I' m having a hard time as a long term Maschine MK3 user that went standalone with a fully murdered out MPC 1000 about 9 months ago whether I should stick with the 1000 or get one of the newer MPCs. I tried the MPC One twice, didn' t like it at that time. Do you got any suggestions?

      @@MakingMadBeats I know it’s different for everybody depending in their workflow but for me coming from the 2000 XL once I hopped on the MPC one it was a no-brainer everything just made sense for me and made my life so much easier and I was able to do my beats 10 times faster versus my 2000 XL, like I said it’s a personal choice but the MPC one is nearly a perfect machine at least for my workflow and what I needed to do,

      @@malobeats Aight, I get your point, man! Do you mix your stuff or in the One in standalone, too or is it kust some basic sound design that you are doing, e.g. filtering, levels of the single tracks? What about arranging? Do you do all of that stuff in a regular DAW?
      I found a good deal on a MPC X. 18 months old from a music gear seller with a 12 month warranty for 1050€. Here in Germany a new X costs 1800€ atm but with 3 years of warranty.

      @@malobeats Just tried this technique with a track, pretty complex with many different parts weaved throughout and several different programs. It’s honestly pretty messy. When I converted to a new sequence it had some issues. Seems like some of the samples weren’t in the same places. Some timing issues etc. I had to export each section of the track separately and assemble in Pro Tools. Have you ever come across that?

    Good video. One thing to beware of is when using multiple sequences in the song, don't re-use tracks e.g. just because seq2 doesn't have bass on it don't use that track for a different part - leave it empty. If you reuse that track the result in the stem will be the bass program playing that other part. So, be consistent in the tracks; there's plenty of them! 😀

    When u drag and drop the files from finder, if u hold cmd they all go to their seperate tracks in ableton. U might need to have the number of tracks already added in ableton if i recall right but not sure.

    How do you choose if you want to export the tracks with or without effects? Do I have to go in to each track and turn effects on or off?

    Before watching this,do you know if it's possible to have a screen similar to the one on the MPC Software in the mute menu on the One? I'd like to have access to the full track and see where the mutes already are.
    Thanks!!

      Hey brotha, man I still haven’t been able to install the MPC software on my Mac due to some issue with my ilok account it’s been a pain in the ass but I still haven’t been able to use it. I’ve herd that it’s really good

      @PeteOnTheBeat Před 2 lety

      @@malobeats its really good. You have a like a map of where all of your mutes already are. That's something i really need to see on the One,so I can finish the track. I've been trying to mix it a bit,but i think I'm gonna have to finish the job in the computer.

    Good tutorial. I personally prefer to record an 8- or 16-bar section into my DAW (I use Pro Tools when producing with the MPC Live II) via my audio interface, then sequence it and mix in PT. Recording from the MPC outs into Pro Tools I think gives it a warmer sound. I haven't looked, but have you done a video on that? If not, that may be another good/helpful tutorial.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Matthew, dude it’s so funny you mention this because I was just thinking of doing the same thing the other day. I have the Apollo interface and wanted to use some tape plug-ins to record directly from my outputs through the plug-ins right into my DAW to get more of a warmer sound. I will work on smithing like this in a future video

    • @matthewutley5370
      @matthewutley5370 Před 3 lety +3

      @@malobeats good stuff! Certainly no harm in exporting stems from the MPC. It ultimately depends on what sound the producer needs and wants. But I do recommend giving it a try! I used to produce solely in FL Studio, but now I prefer the MPC and Roland FA-06, and recording into PT through my interface breathed new life into my beats.

      @erfzjepacapej7648 Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I think recording thru your outs into interface preamps is just faster - seperate them into stems that way by running a few recording passes. Both arent perfect ways and arent at the same level as elektron overbridge yet unfortunately.
