I've been really impressed with mine, got one to save my Wilson Combat barrel from all the steel case I shoot and I've been making good hits on 6" gongs at 50ish yards.

Not really, Black will show the most wear the fastest. Rainbow hides it a little more, in my opinion from what I have seen.

yes. +p rated but not +p+
Suppressor with out a shoulder will hit the recoil rod.
i need to know WHY it doesnt work for gen 5
The only ones that could would be the 19 barrels. However they are flush cut and target crowned for the dimensions of the gen 1-4 slides. The barrels sit a tiny bit inside the slide on a gen 5 and are no longer flush. Not that it doesn't work, just might cause some unforeseen issues later on.
