    Nice job! I'm building one very similar, but a full size rather than a queen. I'll be painting mine as well.

    how long are the 2x4's? and the length for the 1x2's cheers mate

    • @makermatt
      @makermatt  Před 2 měsíci

      I just measured the inside of the outer box for the length of the 2x4’s. That way i could get each one exact. The 1x6 for sistering it together are about 18 inches long. I hope that helps.

    lmao after you say how hard it is to film and walk on 2x4 and then the camera falls
    what would you have used now that you know the fascia was bubbling?

    • @makermatt
      @makermatt  Před rokem

      I think i would still use the facia. You can only see the cupping if you look for it. So for functional and esthetic reasons it worked great! Thanks for the question J-dog! 👍🏻

    Do you have blueprints available?

      @makermatt  Před 9 měsíci

      Sorry, no. I didn't make any blue prints. I just drew out the measurements on a piece of paper and went for it

    I stole your simple and smart build. It is mine now. I did do something a little different because i am old and nothing makes old men happier than finding a use for something they have on hand. Rather than using 2 boards to "sister" the 2 frames together i used 2 "simpson strong-tie" steel hurricane ties which are typically used in rafters(I said I am old and yes I do live in Florida so I have a hurricane tie on hand, shut-up.) That said, they are super cheap(like $1.20 per) and you can bind in center 2x4 to the interior of the lower frame on the top and the bottom of the bed. Now I am off to tell all the neighborhood kids to get off my lawn.

      Simpson strong ties are a great idea… good on ya! 😆
