Can you tell us about balloon test and other test for assessing width of keratinized mucosa

Iodine test also called as Balloon test where we use cotton swab dipped in Lugols solution and apply on mucosa. Alveolar mucosa will stain brown color whereas attached gingiva remain unstained.

Sorry I’m not sure about the name Balloon test for iodine test as it’s given only in Nallaswamy text and nowhere els. Pls mention the name as iodine test only.
