Frank and Mr. Bennett are nothing alike, in my world. I always felt that TB's music was more organic; it had much more heart, if you will. TB had talent in myriad different mediums. His painting talent is magnificent! Until the Alzheimer's began to creep in, literally EVERY time he performed, he exuded joy onstage. He absolutely loved sharing his talent. Every musician, technician, sound engineer, stage manager, etc that ever worked with TB adored him. Ever gracious, ever humble, he showed such respect to everyone on the project, including his audience. My admiration for the man was so great that I actually named my son after him! My own Tony loved his music as much as I. My son was killed in 2020. So when I hear this song, or anything else by Tony Bennett, it brings tears to my eyes. My boy's greatest wish was to someday meet Mr.Bennett; Now, he will get that wish fulfilled. I imagine my son will be one of the first of the angels to welcome his namesake.There will NEVER be another like Tony Benedetto.

It is such a beautiful city. I feel it whenever I hear this song. I remember when I was working in Oakland at the hospital and I was in the upper parking deck one day, leaving work. You could look across the bay and see the evening fog start rolling in. I got in my car and turned on the radio and the San Francisco station was playing this song. To this day, it brings a tear to my eye. The beauty of what saw from the top of a parking deck. Well, it meant a lot to me.

I visited from London,England as part of my 7 week holiday thru THe USA/Canada by greyhound bus and my memories are still vivid 44 years later.

I always enjoyed Tony Bennett 's music! I enjoyed his singing more than Frank's, Tony's voice was so smooth and relaxing! Such gentle singing from this man.I loved the way the two songs "San Francisco",and "I wanna be around"went back and forth the way Tony was singing them! Pure Classic singing! Tony you were the master of singing for me! Pure class from one cool cat,who knew how to sing many classic songs! Now that's the reason for Tony's twenty Grammys,and many other awards he had achieved over the decades.! Rip my Tony,the heavens are up all night listening to your beautiful 💕 songs! They have indeed gained an angel for sure!😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤😅❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢
I am from the Bay Area and San Francisco “ was” such a beautiful and clean city, but unfortunately not any more.

Re confusion between Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett I'd say that's forgivable for anybody under 50. Both epic crooners.
Never got Frank or Tony mixed up but I can see how you could. Tony was a class act with a beautiful voice!!!!!!!!!!! Love the song!
Bennett and Sinatra came from the same area,but there's no confusing their voices...

Growing up listening to these men, no, we never confused Frank and Tony but I can see why you would think so. Great singer and I love this song!!!!!!!!

Nope Sinatra and Bennett were so different to me. I ❤ Tony much more. I think it’s the styling of the songs. Similar but with love him much more.
RIP Tony, Fabian you don't want to go to California today. I lived there as a kid in the 70's and visited there - both LA area and SF area from the 80's through the 90's. By the 90's it was turning to crap (Rich and Poor and little in the middle - today it is 20 times worse).
What happened to California was what also happened to Austin TX - lived there from 90 to 99, first half was a nice artistic community of lower middleclass folks and a city with personality, by 95 rich folks from CA started moving into the place I called home - jacked the rental rates up and forced me out by 99 (I've been in OK ever since - now NOW CA rick are moving up here and jacking the rental/home rates - I own my home now - so it don't hit me like it did then (but I resent it, for i can place myself in my old shoes when I rented and so know it sucks to rent - now here in OK (as it did in Austin in late 90's).
Rich CA folks move to a place and it ruins it for the rest of us!

Don't misunderstand: I'm all for reaction programs; I Just like them to react AFTER the song is heard, not during it. Do not everyday people react exactly that way when they listen to music?? It's just an opinion that I am sticking too.
I thought that was one of your best reactions as you, respectfully, did not break up the rhythm and flow of this Maestro too much though you could have saved the point about the confusion with Frank Sinatra until the end so it could have continued to the end, which was near.
