    This turned out so amazing. I would never had imagined that you free-handed the flames. I figured it had to be a template. Can't wait to see your next project.

      Robert, it’s just normal spray paint aerosol cans that you can buy at the home improvement store. Nothing special. Thanks for watching sir!

    I've always wondered how this was done.
    I'm going to attempt to do something like this for my Nephew as a surprise.
    Figured I'd practice on something else before doing it on the main project.
    Thanks for the Idea and Lesson!!

    Got a barbecue for free with a lot of rust through the 'stainless steel'. If I can find the right colors in high heat paint, I am so putting flames on my barbecue.

      @@Project2Workshop Thanks for the quick reply. Got the base black high heat paint on with a couple of coats. Just too windy and it hasn't let up for days so I just went for it. The tape will be here on Friday, have the engine enamel (hope it's good enough heat wise) in yellow and red for the flames. Thanks for the tips and the inspiration.

    I know this doesn't suit the video but if you don't want paint bleed under the tape hit it with a coat of clear before to filling the holes then scuff with scotch bright and hit it makes the edges smoother

      And how long before removing the tape. Thanks

    • @Project2Workshop
      @Project2Workshop  Před 3 lety +2

      Albert, I don’t remember exactly but you don’t want to let the paint dry much at all before removing the tape. You’ll notice me being very careful to only touch the area that the tape is covering while removing the masking. To get the “chemical bond between the color coats and the clear you want to apply clear before full cure of those coats so let it rest about 10-15 minutes and you’ll be good for clear. Start light and add thin coats! Good luck and thanks for watching👍
