It’s stunning and close to $40,000 a night all inclusive. Initially I thought that’s crazy. But split across 8 people it’s $5,000 a night all in to experience one of the best resorts on the planet. As a bucket list for 3-4 nights it’s tempting
Still at $5000 a night it's a no. But I'm glad The Luxury Traveler takes me there for free. Still on that dream bucket list though, #1, if I ever hit the lottery......oh right, gotta play to win, oh well.
The people who have the money to come here aren't worried about $40,000 a night.

I liked the Water Reserve house very much, with the exception of the flashing disco stars and the trunks at the end of the beds, which I would surely stub my toes on. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the house-on-the-water concept--it looks like some sort of alien settlement--lol. Even if cost was no object, I would be exhausted from the effort to get to the Maldives. I'm glad, Dr LTE, that you are such an adventurous lad, for you take us to places that we might not experience otherwise. Having said all of this, I STILL want to go to North Island!

After watching the last upload today, it makes sense to have another on the same property. Such expansive, well planned and thoughtfully designed resort without the overload and more like a well run small vacation state. 3 cheers to the team of architect, designers and of course the brainchild of Soneva Jani.
Am I the only one who's underwhelmed by these villas? The area is beautiful with the turquoise lagoon, but these villas, while large, are rather unattractive inside and out. For $40,000/night, I would expect much more luxury.
I’ve always wondered how deep the water is in these types of lagoons around the villas. Any ideas?

Hi Traveler, well that was magnificent wasn't it? I suppose the resort furnishes food for the kitchen, because a trip to the grocery store with your granny cart, might take a while. To hop a sea plane to the coast to hit up a store for food would be prohibitively time consuming I think !! ha ha ha ha

In staying in such floating accommodation it should be noted it does not suit many people - it feels great at first but then quite isolating and for some worrying. If you choose such a wonderful location check the fire safety for obvious reasons this risk is elevated. Enough of my slight negatives but wished to share these facts. Great video.
It's built on stilts, it's not floating. At 40 thousand dollars per night, I would think it comes with it's own butler and many people that seek this kind of holiday do exactly that, for the sole purpose of being completely isolated. This resort is specifically designed for the uber rich & famous to have complete privacy without having to ever leave their bungalo. Me, personally I'm not rich nor famous but man.... I'd love to be isolated there for a month!!

Loved your video tour, but, in your exploration of the single bungalow you stayed in, you missed one important room. I kept asking, Where is the bathroom/toilet? Knowing of the remote location of these islands, there surely had to be a way to deal with this natural function. 😎

Only $40,000 a night? Well lets all go haha. But seriously, seems to be that these villa is just sublime. I have to ask this in relation to your last video, and anyone who has been here please chime in. In the lagoon you see the little hammocks in the distance and the little islands just on the edge. Are you allowed to swim to them? I joked with my wife that I would love top be able to swim to them during the day in a type of pseudo excursion haha. Thank you for all you do and I look forward to chapter 2!

Between this video and the one you published 3 years ago the beach is so different now the water is less clear , so what period you really advise to travel to soneva so we can enjoy a clear cristal water. Thank you so much for your wonderful and exceptional work you become my TripAdvisor.
There are two jetties at Soneva Jani. The video from 3 years ago as well as the one I published last week document the jetty at the island’s northern tip (Chapter One). This villa shown here is located on the jetty at the island’s southern tip (Chapter Two) 😉. The Maldives are best visited between January and April for blue skies and less chance on rain

40k per night a person or per night for the Villa? Why is such a big kitchen in that Villa? What i miss in this Villa is space in each Bedroom waste of space with that billiard Fitness center and a few things more

The water over in this area isn’t even clear. Not worth 40k at all
To me the place looks extremely boring. The colors are too much faded for my taste. Yes the turquoise water is amazing though. I personally prefer the smaller houses. They are more cosy than this huge chilly house.
Of course if I was offered the possibility to stay at such resort I would accept it. But me I would definitively not spend my money there.
I am not impressed with the gym, by the way, where is the toilet?
