  • www.mormonchann... - Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) believe that we are eternal beings, sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. We lived as spirits before we were born and we will continue to live after we die. Depending on the choice we make in life, determines if you will live with God again.

When I first heard this as an investigator back in 2002, it made perfect sense to me. I felt loved, I felt the comforter confirm the truth of it and understood that we are not alone in our struggles, Heavenly Father perfectly understands us, and will teach us vital lessons throughout our lives that will bless us through eternity if we look to Him. The Gospel is true and a great blessing to me.

@Zoot Rollo To visit the services does enrich your soul, with essentiel knowledge that you otherwise will miss or misunderstand. If you go to a service in a CJC of LDS you'll receive at each service the sacrament which is so important for your own development, your protection and also to receive the Holy Spirit his guidance. You'll become so much stronger by visiting the Sunday services, as you'll be much more vulnerable for the influence of God's opponent when not visiting and receiving. Of course, no one will force you, but realise what you surely will miss !

The reason the church sends missionaries to teach these principles is so that everyone have the opportunity to learn. You will feel a fire igniting in your heart that will tell you that you lived before this life. Your spirit will remember and will start to recognize people you met before coming to this earth. You will realize that you've known your loved ones even before coming here. That knowledge will motivate you to be better. I bear my testimony it's been true for me and so will be for you.

I live to love, experience as much as I can, and share my talents and ideas with as many as possible. And I do all of this without a God. Kind of like how Catholics pray to saints and I think baptists only sing hymnals (that may be wrong)

This is why it's called faith. If we remembered our time in the pre-existence then it would be knowledge, no need for faith.

A lot of religions believe that there is a difference between angels and us, and that angels were with God before we came to earth. We believe that we were those spirits in the spirit-world who were with God, our creator. The reason we are here on earth was because we chose to follow the Savior's beautiful plan. I testify to you that this church is true and living. You can learn for yourself like I did, by reading the book of Mormon and asking God if it is true with real intent & faith in Him.

God promised us eternal life before this world began. When we choose to follow our savior Jesus Christ and his plan.
    2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
    (New Testament | Titus 1:2)
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
    (New Testament | John 3:13)

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
      (Old Testament | Jeremiah 1:5)
Anther one that testifies of the pre moral life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
      (New Testament | John 3:17)
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
      (New Testament | John 17:17 - 18)
I know we are all children of God the most high. We have been promised all the glory he has...Pretty amazing promise when you stop and think.

Hi, I have been asked this question many times by struggling members and investigators. all i can say in the space allotted is this; all people are free to make their own choices sometimes those choices bring pain to those around them, but if all you knew was happiness would you appreciate it? what we are to learn is; choose good circumstances, associations and mindsets, follow the gospel closely and even when hardships arise you will feel support and love from God and you will be happy.

Those who don't think this church is true, Please reconsider. It is true. I know it is true, and you will have a chance to know if it's truthfulness either here in this life or in the next.

The fullness of the Everlasting gospel are the things at we must know, understand and do to return to Heavenly Father. The Fullness of the Gospel is Faith in Christ, Repentance, Baptism and receiving the Gift of the Holy ghost by one having authority. It is these principles that give us eternal salvation. There are many places in the Book of mormon that teach us about Gods Plan and we have modern day prophets that shed light on some of the deeper questions that the Scriptures prompt us to ask.

  • @SuperTrevorWhite

It is interesting that the questions are about evidence in the Book of Mormon.
The respondents have answered well & we can find supporting evidence in the Bible as well. Eccl 12:7 (operative word "return" suggests where we come from) & Jer1:5; 2Cor6:2 & Phil2:12 (Needless to mention why we are here).

  • @DiaDarcey

That's an important point, Cory. "Resurrection" as in "Jesus was the first to be resurrected" (and as many religions define it) is a state wherein the person returned to life will never die again. On the other hand, Lazarus, Jairus' daughter, the widow of Nain's son and other individuals miraculously returned to life by Christ would eventually again sicken or age and die. Jesus as a resurrected being, like you said, fully perfected his Godliness--and would never die again. Beautiful :)

No matter how much He knows us, it is important that, through agency, as you said, we prove Him we will do all the things He commands to us... like Abraham did. It was not an easy task to sacrifice his own son, and yet, Abraham proved God he would do His will. In His immense wisdom and to fulfill the requirements of justice, God allows us to exercise our agency freely. We choose to follow him or to don't, but ultimately it is us the ones who decide.

I love the Lord's words in Matthew, "Not everyone that saith Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." the only work Mormons believe in doing is following Jesus Christ. They believe that if they accept him, then his Grace will save them. No one can work their way to heaven... It is the gift of God, but even gifts have to be received. Mormons believe in accepting and receiving Christ's grace... as the narrator says...

Well, I think the best explanation is, well, the one that the Book of Mormon gives. Alma 30. All things witness that there is a creator and there is no empirical evidence to the contrary. For my own opinion, in matters regarding that which we do not know, which is the majority of that around us, we take comfort and guidance in information beyond the scope of our full understanding but well within the grasp of our hearts. It is thrilling to live like that and to know that it is true.
