So after a few tries... I got this to work. In order for it to be done, the radio has to be turned off. Then, follow the steps as reflected in this video. I have a Premium Q60 with Bose system just for reference. Oh, and thanks for the vid, MH!
You have no idea! I believe you saved my sanity with this one buahah. Thanks for all the knowledge you share, very much appreciated. Im locked in with an appointment at AMS in Chicago late Feb. To have all the goodies you've recommended taken care of(all parts purchased through them and will be installed and tuned there) can not wait!. I'm in upstate NY so it's about 12 hours away. Thanks to you and some cross researching of my own I won't have to make that long trip multiple times with any luck. Again, thanks for the countless hours you saved me in research! Hello UpState Ace I know this post is 3 years old but I would really appreciate an update as to your car and your experience with AMS. I have a stock 22 Red Sport 400 and I'm considering taking it to AMS.
Great job on the video! I turned mine back on last night just to see how it would enhance the sound with the intakes and it sounds aggressive AF, but I do like hearing the real sound better than the amplified sound. Plus with that on you can't really hear the air getting sucked in, and that's half the fun
As an infosec person, you have no idea how much I appreciate this video! Love finding stuff like this. What other settings can be changed there? I saw a long list of items.
Hi! Thanks for this informative video. do you know is it possible to skip the "Warning" screen for the top screen every time the car is switched on? It's really irritating and redundant having to press OK all the time just to get past the black screen.
One of the very first things i did on my car. Thanks for showing this! It's a must do. The Bose system does some noise canceling by leaving the ANC on and ASC off (that's the fake exhaust). ANC is a good thing. Tire noise etc.. But with my AF FI exhaust I want to hear it. Being aware of what's going on with your motor is important. Note: the exhaust note with the "fake" noise "on" is linked to the mode. So Sport + it adds more cabin noise, vs. Standard mode. Noise canceling is only available with the Bose radio upgrade. Again, useful GOOD video. One ? What's on your smartphone screen in the video????
After installing a mbrp cbe I get this horrible humming sound inside the cabin, do you think by turning this off will eliminate that sound,I have 4 resonator installed so is not the rasp sound
If you have a q60 non bose and If you cant find that option. Look under the rear third brake light you will see a tiny brown connector. Unplug it and you should be fine.

Hey man, unrelated question, but I figured you may know the answer. will the axle back exhausts for the older G37s\ 3.7 14-16 Q60s work on the 17+ VR30 Q60s? They look about the same but I don't know for sure
I have the same car--'18 Q50 3.0t Luxe--and think it sounds great when I accelerate. Is it possible that only the sport versions have the Diagnosis tab? Is it also an enhanced sound in the Luxe? I don't have Bose.
Thank you for posting this, just confirmed it works on 2018+ MY. You have to be in accessory mode, if you try to do it with the engine on it won't work. The VR engine is really quiet but it sounds so much better without fake howling sounds. I like it much better, it was really the only thing about my 2018 Q50 RS that I didn't like.
Question for you. My 2018 Q50S had the Speed i was driving on the dash control but on my New 2019 its no where to be found. is there a trick to get it on my dash?
Go to menu than settings and click on meter and click main menu selection and look for average speed. It should be turned off just click it to turn it on
Would this avoid the extra whining noise you get when changing your stock speakers? I saw a comment where someone said they just unplugged the module from the fuse box in the trunk but if i can avoid that by doing this I rather do so! Swapping my speakers very soon.
Is there a different way to do this in a 2018 with the standard radio. I don't have the option in my secret menu but I'm positive the car still has some kind of noise cancelling feature because I can hear it even with my radio off. Not sure if this makes a significant difference with noise when it's working properly. Feel like I would much rather have it turned off
I followed these steps exactly and my ANS says it is disabled but I still hear the fake exhaust when in Sport+ mode. Am I wrong in thinking this would go away? I was hoping for only my real exhaust noise. No extra.
