@@DiasporaDoodles I am happy to be here. Teaching in the UK is quite exhausting. It’s different from my international teaching experience mostly because of the policies that seem to take the control off teachers. There seem to be no consequences for misbehavior rather it’s mostly put off as SEN. I am really considering a career switch at this point. I feel burnt out and mentally drained. How was your experience here in the UK?

@@Onyi.AnekweI’ve stayed international for the past decade. I go back every year for CPD events, since the parent company of the school I work with is based in the UK. However, because they have schools all the globe, I can be anywhere I choose to move to, within the organisation.

@@chizobachizoba608, hello and welcome to the family.
      1. Have you legalised and authenticated your documents? If you have, then there are steps to take to get the teaching experience you need.
      2. What continent are you interested in? 44 is a good age to teach. Your confidence at the interview stage is what matters, as some schools would hire you over a younger teacher because you’ll be perceived as someone with a more grounded worldview and your maturity means you know exactly what you want. One person I just mentored, who now works in the UK, started her TeachAbroad career at 54. My next video will explain it all.
