@@ILoveCatsAIot Thanks a lot for commenting and lovely to know you! I'm not entirely sure what the story is behind it, but from what I know in my upbringing as a Lebanese who very frequently went to Syria growing up, it's definitely of Syrian origin, same with Shawarma I would say, these are Syrian specialties in my eyes that Lebanese people often adopt in their cooking, I do think if we want to be rightful about it, Lebanon's national dish should be Tabbouleh as it was certainly at least popularised here, in terms of official national dishes, it seems that both countries settled on Kibbeh for whatever reason, but that's as far as I know! (Syrian kibbeh and syrian shawarma though >>>> 🥰)
Edit TL;DR: Syria's dish should be kibbbeh for sure, Lebanon's should be Tabbouleh in my opinion, because of how their origins came to be!

Slayyy. And here are some extra infos on kebbeh from a Lebanese (me) in case anyone is interested!!
Kebbeh can be cooked it various forms, shaped in ovals like in this video and the filling can be switched with a mixture made of some leaf vegetables (i think spinach but i m not sure) onions, oil and some spices, or switched with a Lebanese dairy product called ed labneh. Kebbeh cooked in that shape is called kebab. Then there's kebbeh bel seniyeh which literally translates to "kebbeh in a pan" since it's cooked it a pan. It's like pie where the crust is kebbeh and it's filled with labneh.
And finally you can eat it raw which would be the same as just doing the kebbeh with out adding any filing or labneh nor chilling it or baking or frying it.

I think you mean laban and not labneh (otherwise if you do mean labneh then I've never seen it made that way).
That aside, kibbeh is delicious, especially raw with just a sprinkle of salt and a drizzle of olive oil. Also if you make kibbeh with a bit of fine bulgur (a form of cracked wheat) with a few spices then you make a dish called frakeh which is also delicious.

This is a common food in the Middle East and the Islamic world. I had this in Iraq with a yogurt style Taziki sauce with cilantro and green onions. This was a snack dish served in the afternoon like British Tea Time around 4 PM before dinner. The Iraqis called it Kebeeh as it was pronounced. I could be wrong but I did enjoy the dish.

Day 7 :Can you please do gormesabzi for Iran. Yes, while kabob is notoriously known as the prime food from Iran, ask any Persian what the most beloved dish is and they will say gormesabzi. Though is somewhat tedious to make, it is considered one of the most homey dishes, as it is not only delicious but is usually not in restaurants because of patience required for sabzi’s. It’s one of those meals that feels so comforting in the knowledge of the aromatic ingredients and time put into the dish, most likely provided by someone was enough adoration for you to put in the effort. As an immigrant, I can tell you that when you come home after a long day and you see your grandma’s gormesabzi on the counter, it quells the feeling of home sickness and nutritiously- and deliciously- fills you up.

There are double snacks that we adopt, such as honey-cream, tahini-molasses olive-cheese, these also show your level of intimacy with someone as a nickname. And of course, never forget Turkish tea, which is indispensable for a Turkish breakfast, our local drink.Turks love to drink tea, everyone in each house drinks more than 5 glasses per person.tea is the water of the Turks,This confirms that we are the country that consumes the most tea in the world.
