The danger for Trump in his hush money trial

- When it comes to the four criminal trials of Donald Trump, the Manhattan case has often been described as “the runt of the litter.” That’s because the particular charges against Trump aren’t as weighty, in that they don’t deal with a vast effort to undermine democracy or jeopardizing national security like the other charges against the former president.
But as the trial has gotten underway, we’ve been reintroduced to the cast of characters in the case. And I think it's possible that the details of the Manhattan case could remind people what they disliked about Trump during his presidency. The complex legal issues aside, it’s by far the most scandalous and salacious case, involving a porn star and secret hush money payments.
Senior National Investigations Editor Rosalind Helderman talks with The Campaign Moment co-host Aaron Blake about what we’ve seen in the first days of the hush money trial and how it might impact Trump’s 2024 campaign.

This is an Election Interference Trial and NOT about "hush" money 🤬
Get the wording and true scope correct.
Everyone does this, saying this case is the 'least significant' case. Instead, everyone should focus on the fact that ONE man has FOUR separate trials covering EIGHTY SEVEN felonies!!
Of all the trials, this one is utter BS! 34 counts of nothing! A trial about no crime! And Pecker said Trump was worry about Melania and Ivanka. Mixed motives! And he said how they didn’t published half of the stories they bought. And it’s not a crime to influence an election by hiding embarrassing stories.
As for the business records, Trump had nothing to do with any of the invoices (12 in total), they were sent by Cohen to Trump company accountants, and he wrote in it “payment for legal services rendered”. He was the personal attorney for Trump. And he was never charged by Alvin Bragg about these alleged “falsifications”. So Trump had nothing to do with these invoices. And ironically Cohen wasn’t charged about it. Trump also had nothing to do with how the transactions that were recorded on a personal ledger. (12 counts). Employees inside the company recorded the transactions as “legal services” based on what Cohen gave them. And now we are left with 9 checks out of 11 checks which Trump only signed to pay Michael Cohen who was his personal attorney. We don’t have any crimes committed by Trump here. This is a nonsensical case.
What a ridiculous case by Alvin Bragg!
It's a little worrisome when a reporter has trouble recalling one scandal because there were so many other scandals." So much winning" has turned into "so many scandals".
Up to the year 2015 Donald Trump never received so much as a parking ticket what changed?
Most presidents' scandals are a tragedy, Donaldict's are a statistic
@@herballycorrect untrue, Trump's were prosecuted for racist renting practices, stiffing contractors, Trump University, bankrupt businesses.
The fact is an unfit corrupt lawless person became the Republican nominee, partly because he would be profitable for people like Pecker and other billionaires.
You're just ignoring the facts to construct a false narrative. In reality Trump used aggressive legal tactics to deter prosecutions, stalling cases and most of the public didn't care, but his home state knew what Trump was.
Thank you, Mr. Blake and Ms. Helderman. I will certainly tune in for another episode.
Another poll question should be: "Is this a crime when Donald Trump does it?" His fans maintain a double standard.
Thank you, what an awesome comment. 😄
Agree ask is this a crime if Joe Biden did it?

I don't understand in Trump's hush money case it might be unethical but why is it a crime!
🎉🎉
Ohhh, I feel so sorry for Trump - really???
