Then you are a Inexperienced fishermen you should never get mad by losing fish or tackle you should thank the fish for a crazy fight. And you can always get new tackle

Nick, you cannot convince me that you went through all those obstacles and didn’t fall down... we’ve seen you bite the dirt to many times to believe it didn’t happen this time. Lmao
fedup whiteman He uses circle hooks. You just raise the rod and start reeling. The hook rotated into the fish’s jaw on it’s own. Now, may not have been sharp enough, though.
If you want big flatheads, fish deep brush piles, with live sunfish/bluegill/small mud cats. It would be easier to be right over them in your kayak if you had an anchor, so when you get a bite it would be less of a chance to get snagged.
Kudos on your determination to get past the water hazards. As one of said 'guys' I want to thank you for talking to us like we're there, because my wife and kids and I are all on the edge of our seats for every single one of your videos. You're a hero brother. Stay blessed 🙏
We should all appreciate the fact that he left the camera on purpose to get a nice view of him taking off in the kayak. To have to come back to get the camera lol. Nice work man 👌
I watch your shows over and over. Your editing skills have really come a long way. Congrats and keep it up! I guess this interweb thing may catch on after all! Thanx dude!
Deff a handy little boat seems pretty versatile for all types of fishing styles. Plus the bright green fins on those bows were really cool, I find amazing how the bow fins color patterns can change so dramatically from one Creek to the next. Bummer that u lost those two big fish right at shore , but I get the feeling you will get redemption next time u fish that spot. The quality and effort you put into your videos really shows and the respect for fishing and passion u have deff comes threw . Much respect , can't wait for the next video great work Nick
Thanks Ben I really appreciate it! It’s not a good fishing trip unless you lose at least one big one... or maybe those are just my fishing trips haha. Thanks for watching!
@@618Fishing I totally agree if I landed every fish I hooked it wouldn't be fun anymore. Loosing that big one is fishing and fir me it's what keeps me going back for more. Win some , loose some it's all fishing .and there's no such thing as a bad day on the water.
That's a beauty! I fished from my Old Town Stillwater canoe. It was a wonderful rig. Used both gas Merc 3.5 and Minn Kota trolling motors with an offset transom. Wonderful memories!
@@618Fishing I got a diablo kayak for a low price because it was damaged and I use it for saltwater fishing around pointe aux chenes. Kayaking is fun when you can catch things the same size of the boat and hook into monster fish in places boats cant go. Try going saltwater fishing for bull reds. You'll love it the pull the boat around forever and where I live we call them cajun sleigh rides.
Nick -as always, gorgeous video, smooth editing, great use of background music, fun narration. But (you could tell it was coming, couldn't ya?) the adventures are getting pretty redundant. Maybe it's time for some tiny lure challenges in small creeks? You know, the ones where you explain the lure is in the tree because you heard fish are up there. Yeah, creek fish are never big, but they're often beautiful. It's been too long since you took us out to completely unexpected deep pools in the woods. Revisit some of those beautiful spots, or find new ones. We're all rooting for you to keep up subscribers, so maybe that's why you're focusing on big fish. But throw us old followers a bone and take us out on a weird lure challenge. See ya later, buddy!
When you catch a spawning Bowfin, can you show its mouth? I have seen pictures where their mouths are blue-green. That would be so cool and interesting.

I've watched so many of your videos. And watched you catch so many bowfin. A lot of them had blue mouths. I thought maybe it was from their diet. But it turns out, those are spawning males! So cool!

Just got back from my local spillway. Between me and the wife we landed 3 common carp all between 25 and 28 inch 2 channel cats 1 26 inch and 3 freshwater drum. Man i love carp. Love the vids. Tight lines.
Octopus hooks work like a charm too👌🏾. I use them for saltwater flounder fishing but when you move up the Cape Fear river into the Creeks they work great on Reddrum and Catfish also.
for catching bowfin specifically I use razor eagleclaw size twos on a double trouble rig. Use live bait and put that item on a slip bobber and have that net ready.

That was an awesome video. Thank you for the inspiration. I have to go spillway fishing when all of this is over. I love the use of the drone. Congratulations on the double hook up. Stay safe brother.
That's a nice rig, I like that. Especially the way the motor folds up in front of you. I have a scadden frameless pontoon with a electric motor on the back but it's hard to get to once you're in the boat, I steer it with an extension handle (or just dipping a paddle into the water on either side). Looking forward to seeing you out in it! Good video as always, thanks.
Not to long ago I was watching one of your vids and got excited about trying to catch a big catfish. I went fishing and caught a 23lb flathead catfish!!! Thanks 618fishing for making these wonderful vids!
Bowfin! Haven't caught one in years. They are extremely difficult to set the hook. They will eat about anything. More of a garbage fish than a carp though.
Man i love that kayak, nice bowfin! We used to catch em when i lived in Louisiana,we would catch 7-10lbs back to back in one spot, but we used wire leaders cause they would cut the line when we first started catching them..the put up a good fight
Oh ya that Asian carp is great bait for catfish I couldn’t even tell u how many blue cats over twenty pounds I have caught this year on carp and for flathead keep using those live green sunfish u will definitely hook in to a big one if u keep at em with those baits. also great content I love I watching ur vids

Nick, Been watching since the beginning. Love the videos brother. I had a Yak'n tip for you. Take a pool noodle, cut small sections off and zip tie them to your rods, right above the handle. That way if and when a tree branch or fish pulls them in you'll be able to locate them.
