My dad stayed in the stand on rifle opener one year when I shot my biggest buck at the time. I had never shot a deer with a body size like this one. It got hot that day so by the time he got out I already started breaking down the carcass. He still to this day tells me how badly he regrets that he did that, I'll never forget the look of disgust with himself when he got back to camp. Odly enough I think we all have moments like this, good video 👊

I know your dad regretted it but thats one of my biggest pet peeves. If your buddy shoots a big one especially one you have been after I don't care what you have going on you drop it and go help them. Maybe thats just me... have had several buddies not do that for me in the past.

@@usernamehere6061from my father’s generation and perspective I’m sure he wanted his son to do the work by himself “to toughen him up” per say and then after he thought about it and seen the deer and his son he regretted that decision not thinking it would be a buck and was probably thinking it was a little doe like shot the first thing you see type of deal. Just a different generation that’s why they was tougher than my generation and we are tougher than this generation.

Hindsight, you can only go with your gut at the time. Be thankful all the footage you have of you and Dave. That’s the real special part. Little did you know years later Dave was going to pass. You have those memories forever on film. Love watching these videos of when you guys were younger, cool stuff! Thanks for sharing

I would guess when the second shot went off, that the buck got up and ran for deeper cover. Whether that's the case or not, focus on all the good times with Dave. Moments of gratitude disrupt all of the negativity within. All we can do in life is learn, share our experiences with others, and grow together. I'm sure Dave is eternally grateful for being able to hunt with you and learn from you. I am also sure that his wish for you now would be for you to let go of this and continue your focus on sharing your passion for hunting with others. I appreciate you Dan! #BigBuckInTheTruck2024

I once was very hungry had had few groceries and less money. November. I was hunting, had a doe come in in a buck spot, I shot it and she fell 20yd from where I shot it. 15 minutes later here comes the giant I was after. He did a literal double take looking at the doe, went into thick stuff and I watched him stand there u til he got a little piece of my wind there, he went back past the doe and then strutted through the open over the hill in front of me out of range the whole time. Very. Large very mature animal. Kicked myself for that one. He was out of range where he stopped at the doe.

I have had a few instances where I made mistakes like that. It really made me sick to my stomach losing deer for being impatient or pushing deer when I knew I shouldn’t. But!!! I truly think later on in my hunting career it made me recover a lot more than I lost if I wouldn’t have experienced that. I truly believe that making mistakes makes you a better hunter if you learn from them. This is as real as it gets for a hunting show!

Mr. Infalt, and all of his fans and supporters, the title of this video go hand and hand with what I'm about to say! A couple years ago I bashed you about your appearance on the whitetail cribs channel and was a real jerk about it! I had no idea who you were and knew nothing about you, in turn I immediately judged you. I made a complete ass out of myself and would REALLY like to apologize to you!!! I also fully understand if you disrespectfully decline said apology! After watching your videos, I have quickly gained a lot of respect for you and thoroughly enjoy your content! I am a 53 YO blacktail and Roosevelt elk hunter, and a serious shed freak from the north Oregon coast and we share a lot of similarities. Anyway blah blah blah. Sincerely humbled and sorry 👍

I get what you’re saying, with coyotes putting on pressure I’m sure they would’ve jump that deer all if they didn’t already as well if you left it. It’s building memories with a good hunting buddy don’t second guess the decision.

I followed the whole trial... Its insane that they can railroad an ex president when really no crime was committed. If they can do that to him, what chance do any of us have against the corrupt liberal government? Makes me want to make sure I and everyone I know vote for him this time around... I think he needs a prison tattoo. What you think? MAGA on his shoulder?
