There’s no need to stick to a weekly upload schedule in my experience. Just make videos at the rate you feel comfortable with and if you feel like you’re forcing it then slow it down. Your viewers (including me) are here for the quality, not quantity 😊😊

I started watching this channel in college as a print associate at Office Depot at about 10,000 viewers. I would watch new episodes each week on my lunch breaks and now, 7 years later, I’m a director at my dream job still watching these on my lunch breaks. This channel was the one thing that has remained consistent in the last few years on CZcams, glad to have been a part of it since day 1!

I don’t think CZcams favours regular weekly uploads anymore. Most of the channels I’ve seen who continue to grow this year are channels that upload a once a really high value video once a month or so. Also I can’t believe it’s been another year! Congratulations Company Man, your videos are a breath of fresh air. I always seem to be watching your videos when I put in my contact lenses and you’ve come with me through multiple apartments at this point haha

There's a lot of channels that are great background sound. This one is good to listen to. I like the strange, dark, and mysterious ones (hint at a creator there). Fascinating Horror, Brief Case, Ravens Eye, etc, etc.
Can't speak for everyone else, but I come here because even if I don't know the company you're showcasing, I trust this channel enough to believe that I will either learn something, or I will become curious about something. You are a self-effacing, humble educator. I won't tell you to lose your humility, because it keeps you trying harder. However, you need to know that you're hitting the right note, and I like what you're giving us. Thank you for this video. I like the deviation from purely company related content. Getting a peak inside your process intrigues me.
There's also AMC (American Motor Company) Braniff Airlines. Also I feel like talking about MLMs on CZcams will get him a monetization strike because there's no way to talk about them without talking about how they target women

Been watching since 2020....and I enjoy the content. Sure, some companies aren't going to knock everyone's socks off. But lots of the videos are relevant and to the point. I like that. So congrats on 7 years and 1.7 million subs as well as 372 videos!! Hard work for sure as I know what it's like to edit/program/script videos...from back in the late 80's/early 90's when I used to hang around the local cable access station. You know the rule...eventually they put you to work. Haha. So keep on doing what you do. No worries on a weekly schedule.
Company declines are also occurring all the time. I think I love hearing about the decline of companies I don’t even know about too. Anyway, thank you so much for all this content. Your channel has helped me learn so much but also provided me so much joy. Thank you!!

As someone who used to be an assistant for a CZcamsr, I can’t even imagine doing this all yourself. You’ve always had my respect for what you do (especially because you keep your identity a secret and I love that). First of all, thank you for diligently providing us with Company Man episodes for seven years. I'm a long time viewer of your channel and we look forward to it every week. It must be very difficult searching for and researching new subjects on a continual basis for so long. One comment on interest/ratings. The regional retail businesses IMHO have less general appeal to a wide nationwide audience. Bojangles and In N Out Burger, although interesting to those in their areas of influence may not be as "interesting" to those who have never heard of the business, have likely not visited one and may not ever be in the area where they are present. "Failing businesses" are likely more well known throughout the nation and may have a higher quantitative interest level because of name recognition. Again, great job. I do understand that this cannot go on at the current frequency forever but you're doing a great job, just the same. Thank you again.

I've been following you for about 4 years and I love your videos and the way you present the data on business. I learn a lot. I follow another channel that travel presents data "The World According to Briggs". He always says that followers tend to respond to negative videos vs positive ones. I think ppl may be numb to "consumer information" possibly due to all of the inflation talk. We are rebounding! Keep going. Switch it up. Do you just don't stop 😊
I've been watching your channel since I was 11 years old, I'm 16 now. Something I love about your channel is how you slowly started showing your personality and humor more and more over time. The first video I discovered by you was the original one about Toys R Us. Me and my brother loved Toys R Us and were understandably upset that it was closing. Your video helped me understand why it was closing which was very helpful. After that one we began watching your older ones and loved them. Over the years I've watched some of your videos many, many times because they are so well done. I love the humor you link into your videos while still keeping it professonal. My favorite series you make is Bigger Than You Know. I remember watching the videos about the chocolate companies and being shocked at what they make. Now I pay attention to who makes what products. Your videos have helped me learn about business vocabulary and concepts, which is helpful and I'm sure will come in handy even more in the future. Company Man, I've been following your channel throughout the years since 2019 and I can confidently say that I've always admired how consistent you've been with not only your video quality but your weekly upload schedule. Most channels skip a cadence occurrence or two, and sometimes altogether take breaks but it amazes me how you've stuck to it so consistently and continue to today. Don't let the numbers in recent times discourage you (easier said than done). Keep it up and the long run is what matters! One suggestion I had was perhaps you could expand your focus to companies that may not be known to a Western audience but have huge stakes elsewhere in the globe? (e.g. Tencent in China, TSMC in Taiwan, etc.)

I used to do a weekly webcomic so I completely understand--I think an irregular schedule is totally fine! I agree that forcing creative things is never good. I can't guess why you've had fewer views--I will say that I sometimes save up "talkier" videos for when I am doing specific chores. That is why I am so behind on this one! I think you are right that videos about decline's grab interest more, but I also especially enjoy ones where I learn that one huge company actually owns another one (maybe the bigger than you know series)--anything with a surprise/reveal. There are about 5 CZcams channels that I immediately click on when I see they’ve made a new video. Yours is one of them. Always consistent, fat trimmed off, only as long as it needs to be, and always entertaining. I love learning about all this stuff! Its fascinating! Thank YOU!
The first video I found was “The Rise and Fall and Rise Again of Under Armour” about two years ago. I was fascinated by it. I immediately subscribed and I remember telling a friend about it so they would watch it. You gained at least 2 subscribers from that video and your videos have became a topic of discussion between us. Don’t be discouraged. Numbers can fluctuate. If you need a break one week, take it but rest knowing we will all be here waiting for you when you are ready. PS… I love the rise and fall and rise again episodes but now that I say that I like them all. I’ve watched every single one since and watched ones from before I subscribed. I want you to know that my partner and I (who watch your videos together over casual dinners) were STRESSING for the first half of the video that you were leaving CZcams as so many creators have chosen to do lately. We’re both so glad you’re going to continue making content! Changing your upload frequency is totally reasonable, especially if it will help you creatively. I can’t speak for everyone, but less frequent videos with more passion and interest is more appealing than weekly videos that you aren’t happy making. I was here for the first video! One of the first hundred subs… I literally looked forward to your videos when I worked at a soul crushing job. I quit and moved onto a new company, became a wife, mom, and a mom AGAIN! Lol so much change in 7 years. My husband likes watching too.

Firstly, love your work. I’ve been enjoying it for about 4 years now. Well written, well mapped out, well executed. Here are a couple of thoughts, Start looking a little wider than good old U.S and Canada. Companies are getting more global every day. I thought you didn’t do enough “why they’re hated” content. Monsanto was my favorite. (BTW have any of them tried to sue you?) Ask your international viewers for suggestions… there would be heaps. Think big oil, big insurance, big bank, big mining, big sugar, big tech giant, big shipping. I am from Australia so may I suggest James Hardie Industries? Who are the most enduring /oldest companies? What has contributed to their longevity? What are “shell companies”? How do they work? What do you think the next company game changer will be? AI perhaps? Who could be the next Kodak? What is a hostile takeover? Which ones have been notable? What is the future of aerospace? Will companies reach space before the rest of us? What are the risks vs the rewards? Are there examples of government companies outperforming private ones? Who are the biggest three companies we probably never heard of? Are there examples of franchise companies that have come from outside the U.S that have taken a foothold in their market? Who are the largest sole owner companies and what do they do? Well any way… there’s a few thoughts. I’ll always keep watching your content. If you go once a fortnight that’s fine too. You have to have a life and you only get one right?
Your voice brings such a nostalgic layback vibes to this channel. It certainly goes along with most of the companies history and origins that you do stories on which makes this channel very special and unique. Especially stories on companies that are no longer around anymore or slowly fading away.. we emotionally tap back into our childhood memories of those stores like radio shack, circuit city, etc..and think of those days living a simpler life..less stress, chaos in the world, and responsibility 😊Thank you! I was visiting my friend in North Carolina this past weekend, I know we're both subscribed to your channel, so I brought up your last video on Bojangles as we drove past one. He found out I had never been, so he made sure to make me try some before I left. Not bad! Anywho, thanks for another great year of videos! Keep em comin! Ive been here for 6 years. I'm so proud of you and all your hard work. I have realized youtube really doesn't give notifications like it use to. So I do manually check for videos for most of my creators. Even with notifications on so i dont think its the topics and more so its allowing most of us to have to remember to check. Also I would love longer videos on companies that have enough history to be used or updates on companies you have covered that may be having a downturn after you covered them. Thank you for your videos, and congratulations for the 7-year anniversary!! It shocked me a bit to hear that 7 years ago was 2017. I noticed for my own decision to watch or not to watch your vids if the topic is a company I did not know. Being a south-east Asian person living in northern Europe for many years, it is usually involved US businesses that never ventured abroad. Would you mind sharing the demographics of your audience, country-wise? I'd like to suggest topics surrounding the success and failure of international expansion to entice international audience. If your viewers are mostly in the US (I'm guessing this is the case), it can be tailored to be about US companies expanding out and foreign companies' effort to expand into the US. Regardless, I am with other commenters that said we are here for quality not quantity :)

First of all, thank you for diligently providing us with Company Man episodes for seven years. I'm a long time viewer of your channel and we look forward to it every week. It must be very difficult searching for and researching new subjects on a continual basis for so long.
One comment on interest/ratings. The regional retail businesses IMHO have less general appeal to a wide nationwide audience. Bojangles and In N Out Burger, although interesting to those in their areas of influence may not be as "interesting" to those who have never heard of the business, have likely not visited one and may not ever be in the area where they are present.
"Failing businesses" are likely more well known throughout the nation and may have a higher quantitative interest level because of name recognition.
Again, great job. I do understand that this cannot go on at the current frequency forever but you're doing a great job, just the same. Thank you again.

I've been following you for about 4 years and I love your videos and the way you present the data on business. I learn a lot. I follow another channel that travel presents data "The World According to Briggs". He always says that followers tend to respond to negative videos vs positive ones. I think ppl may be numb to "consumer information" possibly due to all of the inflation talk. We are rebounding! Keep going. Switch it up. Do you just don't stop 😊

I've been watching your channel since I was 11 years old, I'm 16 now. Something I love about your channel is how you slowly started showing your personality and humor more and more over time. The first video I discovered by you was the original one about Toys R Us. Me and my brother loved Toys R Us and were understandably upset that it was closing. Your video helped me understand why it was closing which was very helpful. After that one we began watching your older ones and loved them. Over the years I've watched some of your videos many, many times because they are so well done. I love the humor you link into your videos while still keeping it professonal. My favorite series you make is Bigger Than You Know. I remember watching the videos about the chocolate companies and being shocked at what they make. Now I pay attention to who makes what products. Your videos have helped me learn about business vocabulary and concepts, which is helpful and I'm sure will come in handy even more in the future. Thank you for all the videos over the years, I'll keep watching them. Also we have the same name!
Company Man, I've been following your channel throughout the years since 2019 and I can confidently say that I've always admired how consistent you've been with not only your video quality but your weekly upload schedule. Most channels skip a cadence occurrence or two, and sometimes altogether take breaks but it amazes me how you've stuck to it so consistently and continue to today. Don't let the numbers in recent times discourage you (easier said than done). Keep it up and the long run is what matters! One suggestion I had was perhaps you could expand your focus to companies that may not be known to a Western audience but have huge stakes elsewhere in the globe? (e.g. Tencent in China, TSMC in Taiwan, etc.)

I used to do a weekly webcomic so I completely understand--I think an irregular schedule is totally fine! I agree that forcing creative things is never good. I can't guess why you've had fewer views--I will say that I sometimes save up "talkier" videos for when I am doing specific chores. That is why I am so behind on this one! I think you are right that videos about decline's grab interest more, but I also especially enjoy ones where I learn that one huge company actually owns another one (maybe the bigger than you know series)--anything with a surprise/reveal. Thank you for all your awesome content!

The first video I found was “The Rise and Fall and Rise Again of Under Armour” about two years ago. I was fascinated by it. I immediately subscribed and I remember telling a friend about it so they would watch it. You gained at least 2 subscribers from that video and your videos have became a topic of discussion between us. Don’t be discouraged. Numbers can fluctuate. If you need a break one week, take it but rest knowing we will all be here waiting for you when you are ready. PS… I love the rise and fall and rise again episodes but now that I say that I like them all. I’ve watched every single one since and watched ones from before I subscribed. They are thought provoking, educational and sometimes a trip down memory lane. Thank you for all of your hard work!!! Please don’t ever give up ❤ and congratulations 🎉Cheers to many more to come!!!

We’re both so glad you’re going to continue making content! Changing your upload frequency is totally reasonable, especially if it will help you creatively. I can’t speak for everyone, but less frequent videos with more passion and interest is more appealing than weekly videos that you aren’t happy making. I was here for the first video! One of the first hundred subs… I literally looked forward to your videos when I worked at a soul crushing job. I quit and moved onto a new company, became a wife, mom, and a mom AGAIN! Lol so much change in 7 years. My husband likes watching too.
When I worked at Menard 3 years ago, I told one of my coworkers about your channel and then every week we would talk about your videos to pass the time on slow days and it was great! It was especially fun to watch your video on Menards and how accurate it was! Thanks for making great content and helping me form a friendship :)
Firstly, love your work. I’ve been enjoying it for about 4 years now. Well written, well mapped out, well executed. Here are a couple of thoughts,
Start looking a little wider than good old U.S and Canada. Companies are getting more global every day.
I thought you didn’t do enough “why they’re hated” content. Monsanto was my favorite. (BTW have any of them tried to sue you?)
Ask your international viewers for suggestions… there would be heaps. Think big oil, big insurance, big bank, big mining, big sugar, big tech giant, big shipping. I am from Australia so may I suggest James Hardie Industries?
Who are the most enduring /oldest companies? What has contributed to their longevity?
What are “shell companies”? How do they work?
What do you think the next company game changer will be? AI perhaps? Who could be the next Kodak?
What is a hostile takeover? Which ones have been notable?
What is the future of aerospace? Will companies reach space before the rest of us? What are the risks vs the rewards?
Are there examples of government companies outperforming private ones?
Who are the biggest three companies we probably never heard of?
Are there examples of franchise companies that have come from outside the U.S that have taken a foothold in their market?
Who are the largest sole owner companies and what do they do?
Well any way… there’s a few thoughts.
I’ll always keep watching your content. If you go once a fortnight that’s fine too. You have to have a life and you only get one right?

Your voice brings such a nostalgic layback vibes to this channel. It certainly goes along with most of the companies history and origins that you do stories on which makes this channel very special and unique.
Especially stories on companies that are no longer around anymore or slowly fading away.. we emotionally tap back into our childhood memories of those stores like radio shack, circuit city, etc..and think of those days living a simpler life..less stress, chaos in the world, and responsibility 😊Thank you! I was visiting my friend in North Carolina this past weekend, I know we're both subscribed to your channel, so I brought up your last video on Bojangles as we drove past one. He found out I had never been, so he made sure to make me try some before I left. Not bad! Anywho, thanks for another great year of videos! Keep em comin! I LOVE this channel, it's a GREAT channel because it brings GREAT memories going to the places that you covered! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY too! How does your parents help you with your channel? Did you just hint at doing a Myspace video? SEEMS like you hinted at a Myspace video.
The videos are uploaded on Wednesday and I watch them on Thursday morning with coffee. This has been my routine for about 4 years.

I love your regional videos. As a Midwesterner, when you did Culver’s I did a big ol happy dance. I’d love to see more of those. Some suggestions from my neck of the woods:
Hyvee, Casey’s, Kum & Go (Maverick), and Kwik Star/Kwik Trip would be interesting for people outside the upper Midwest but have those businesses near them.
Congratulations, my adult sons and I all enjoy your videos. It makes me laugh when they come over and I hear your voice from one of their devices, just show they have good taste. No reason for weekly, do it at your pace. Your quality, humor, and genuine portrayal of the information is what your viewers want. Thank you for what you do.

Ive been here for 6 years. I'm so proud of you and all your hard work. I have realized youtube really doesn't give notifications like it use to. So I do manually check for videos for most of my creators. Even with notifications on so i dont think its the topics and more so its allowing most of us to have to remember to check. Also I would love longer videos on companies that have enough history to be used or updates on companies you have covered that may be having a downturn after you covered them. Also the goodwill video I would love to see since many say not to donate to them so I would love your take. Thank you so much I have learned so much from your content and appreciate you.

I'm in a nostalgic phase, so your videos I mostly watch are ones that brings me back to the past (Toys R Us, KMart, AOL, MTV, etc). I do sometimes check out more up-to-date content, but I tend to focus on brands that are no longer here or have greatly dimished. Happy seven years!

It shocked me a bit to hear that 7 years ago was 2017.
I noticed for my own decision to watch or not to watch your vids if the topic is a company I did not know. Being a south-east Asian person living in northern Europe for many years, it is usually involved US businesses that never ventured abroad. Would you mind sharing the demographics of your audience, country-wise? I'd like to suggest topics surrounding the success and failure of international expansion to entice international audience. If your viewers are mostly in the US (I'm guessing this is the case), it can be tailored to be about US companies expanding out and foreign companies' effort to expand into the US.
Regardless, I am with other commenters that said we are here for quality not quantity :)
