„techniques“ to get there? Cuz i feel like im doing something wrong…😅
@@Metalhead4life666 tried different techniques and tutorials. Even once I got it the first time, it was hard on my vocal cords and I did it for too long I'd go hoarse or lose my voice.
It's really hard to figure out by feel what's going on in there, and it took awhile before the information could be applied accurately (and in some cases safely)

Just a reminder to those of us learning from scratch that it's ok if this clip doesn't make sense. I had to go watch longer videos from different vocalists to work my head around the rough technique. Coming back here to this short is where I refined that technique, since now I really understood where he's coming from in his tips. We all learn differently, don't give up if it doesn't make sense at first

Your original how to scream video taught me how to start screaming years ago and I honed it so much and kinda sorta found my sound. The one you just released debunking the misinformation and walking through a bunch of stuff helped out a lot too. What a legend🖤❤️🤘🏻🤟🏻

@@I-DEPRESSIONIST Yes. The hut without the t sensation is the secret sauce to this whole concoction. Try to combine the door creak sensation with the note part quietly. The hut without the t can be represented by coughing. so say hu (and then cough.) when you try to cough, that is where you can feel the diaphragm, and that is what you use to sort of create the tightness. Not with the throat, but in between coughing and not coughing you will be able to MIX in the light door creak on top of the sung note, and that will get the vocal fry sensation. I practiced saying "Yo" and doing this combination. Once you have the sensation, What you'll realize is in order to project it, you use your voice to say "Yo" louder. while using door creak on top of note, fueled by a proper percentage of the diaphragm tightness (not vocal cord tightness), in order to actually get the projection. sort of combining everything, and then saying "Yo" while achieving the proper vocal fry sensation, and just pretend like your trying to get someone's attention.
I did this exactly and got the vocal fry scream nearly down in about 10 minutes. Of course it needs tons of practice, but once you have the right thing to practice you are completely set.

I’d recommend not doing inhales, it basically gives your throat a hickey and will hurt you a shit ton over a long period of time. Inhales are not safe.
@@MystifiedSky39 that's why I stopped, but I was feeling pretty safe because that didn't hurt me. But even if that doesn't hurt it can still be dangerous. 😔

Edit* I've since learned that chest and head fry are 2 different things. The chest fry sounds and feels much more powerful and for me, is more accessible. I'll keep working on head fry though because its great for higher fry screams, though it sounds much thinner.
Any tips on getting it into falsetto? I'm struggling to do that

@J falsetto it literally just your voice crack point and above
@@emeraldsvids I know what falsetto is, but just can't seem to bring the fry up into that range without it slipping into a really bad sounding fry with no beef to it. Seems like I can either do a chest fry or a head fry. Any tips?

What's funny is I have been able to do this at will with no thought for as long as I have been singing even though it's not my preferred style . But my friend has been trying like CRAZY for months , even with a good coach, and he just can't get it. Though what does come out is pretty damn funny . I do use a high register version though that is really handy for me when I can't quite get there clean . It's worth adding to your skill set even if you aren't doing the heavy stuff
