- This is how I paint a realistic Boxer Dog with brown and black fur using the pastel technique. This portrait was a commission for a client from USA. She ordered an Artwork of her Boxer named Jake, she said to me "He was a goofy guy but very protective of me. This portrait shows how he would watch over me always." The size of the portrait is around 40x45cm and it’s made on Pastelmat Board using soft pastels, pastel sponges and pastel pencils.
If you’re interested in learning the techniques and skills I’ve shown in this video I have an online course available that teaches you step by step how to create a realistic animal portrait.

I have watched this video over and over. It is such a beautiful portrait! The orange/brown fur at the top of the head looks like velvet!

I don't know why this makes me so emotional. my boxer is in the lounge, probably upsidedown happy as can be.
