My fiancee and i are getting married at the end of August and money is tight but ive been honestly thinking of hiring a harpest to play some lord of the rings at least through dinner. I believe your videos have made up my mind for me.

Actually, this is how I envision 'Aniron' would be played in the Tolkien universe - on a harp, by an elf. It has a more authentic feel, IMO.

Hi! I love that you have the sheet music and the videos available--so helpful! I'm trying to learn Aniron on my lever harp and --a beginner question here--I'm unsure when/where to use the accidentals. I.e. in the 4th measure, it's indicated to have a middle C sharp. Wouldn't that have been set before playing the piece? Thanks!
hey there! So in the fourth measure of the lever harp version there is a diamond head middle C# indicating the lever change, you can't set it earlier because of the C natural in the left hand in measure 3 :)

Hi Samantha, I was wondering if you had any suggestions for purchasing a first harp? I have never played, but always wanted to and am thinking of finally making the purchase. I would probably start out with a lap harp, which I know isn’t what you play, but I was wondering if you still might have any suggestions? Thanks :)
Hello! That's so exciting that you want to learn the harp!
If there are any music stores in your area that rent harps, that can be a good place to start as you can decide a little later how much you want to invest, but if you just want to buy, a good "cheap" option is the Harpsicle Harps, but if you want something with a little bit better sound I do like the Dusty Strings Ravenna.

Do you have to tune all of those strings? (I’m a bass player, I don’t know much about the harp! Lol)
Yep! Depending on how precise I'm being it can take 5-20 minutes!

Do you have to tune them every day/weekly? Or is it more like tuning a piano where once every few months-year is enough?
@@Methylglyoxal Two years late - but anyway, here's your answer. You tune harps once every few days (I tune every third day), but the exact frequency depends on wether you are a professional or hobby musician, wether you moved your harp recently (temperature and humidity affect the tuning) and how lazy you are.
