It’s Jamie’s voice and that beautiful poem too: “Come and let us live my Deare, Let us love and never feare, (…), Then let amorous kisses dwell On our lips, begin and tell, A Thousand, and a Hundred, score A Hundred, and a Thousand more.” Tears are flowing even before we see him in the archway.
"Come and let us live my dear, Let us love and never fear, Then let amorous kisses dwell, On our lips, begin to tell, A thousand, and a hundred, score An hundred, and a thousand more.." I've cried so hard in this scene. God..
When she saw him under that archway, my heart just sank. How is it possible that I could feel as she feels in that moment. This show and the acting is just brilliant.
Agreed! When she saw him as a vision looking back at her, it made me tear up a little too. I have a long distance relationship with my gf in the Philippines and this reminded of when I sometimes envision her at my home. 😭
And this is when I started to cry. And right after that the finale... Oh my God. Just to think about how much time has passed and her home is in ruins and she sees Jamie for a moment. Ugh, I'm going to start crying again
I binged all of it, and I kind of feel like I'm missing out. Like, I guess it would have much more impact watching this and the finale, and then having to wait for Claire to return. They thought this through. It would invoke feelings of longing, not only for Claire, but for those watching too...knowing Jamie is close yet still so far away.
I wonder how she manages without her glasses when she comes back in time again. (wow, back in time -again! sometimes i forget how badass she is, what a legend. lol)

Throughout all seasons...this is definitely the saddest scene for me. Going to the place that was your home once and seeing it as a wreck :( and the part where claire sees jamie after twenty years, standing up like he didn't die 200 years ago...like he is still alive, he still loves her, he still waits for her. Like he says her to come home, to his arms again :( even thinking about it makes me wanna cry.
It’s a double Broken heart for all three of them (Brianna even a three time heartbreak), it’s a classic loose loose situation💔 Claire loves her husband and wants to go back immediately, but also don’t want to leave her much adored daughter. Jamie misses both of his girls, is alone with the unknown fade of his beloved wife and child (he had no idea about the gender) worries constantly and burns in pain, Brianna who despite her hardships with her mother loves her with all of her heart, the death of her adored adoptive father and the open question’s about her biological father. It’s good they traveled back in the past and reunited as family 💔 no one deserves living with a Brocken heart 🥺
To me, this was about the heaviest scene through the whole series. How could Claire not but crumble at returning here...? I'm a piper and my wife was an actress....we both could have just sobbed. This is TV, aye....but that's how to write! Braw talent. All the way around.
My most favourite heartbreaking scene... Jamie in the archway... the words in the background... just gut-wrenching... beautiful cinematography... beautiful story ❤️
What an emotional scene! I think that the hair and makeup people did a great job of both making Claire look contemporary (of 1968) and older without relying on "wrinkle" appliances to the face and gobs of powder, haha.

Also Hopetoun house, which is used as the Duke of Sandringham residence, a HUGE palace, very beautiful and the staff are very knowledgeable about everything Outlander. I also went on a drive and walk in the Highlands and visited a lock(which was beautiful!). When I pass very old buildings like these I always wonder how many families lived there, were there always happy or sad. Did the walls see tragedy or joy. And always feel sad if the building is run down.
Rewatching this clip now, makes me cry. I lost my dad a month ago, and both of my parents loved watching Outlander. He even calls her Sassenach, even if he didn’t know what that meant. It’s heartbreaking to live day by day with all those things and places that remind you of your lost loved one.
I lost people who were dear to me...in this episode it managed to portray exactly how i feel several times..it is like their voices repeat inside my head over and over again. The people who were dear to me left me an exquisite present that can only be given by death.
One of my favorite scenes in the entire series, to date... To see Lallybroch in ruins- it had to have shaken Claire to her bones. And you can see it did... Beautifully portrayed.
