After eye surgery to corrected my vision, my Dr. stressed the importance of not rubbing my eyes. Since then, I have made a conscience decision to avoid doing so. But, I've not heard anyone else mention it. Your video should serve as a PSA that rubbing our eyes should be avoided. Thank u!

I believe I got keratoconus from rubbing my eyes due to allergies. I just had crosslinking done in april in my right eye and struggling to type this as I got my left eye done over a week and a half ago. Please stop rubbing your eyes. I'm told keratoconus can also be inherited however no one in my family has it.

Goodness I've had DRYYYYYYY eyes for years. I've used water, oils, artificial tears, it gets even worse when it's cold. Thank you for the tips for dry eyes ❤

can rubbing ur eyes cause droopy eyes? in the shower yesterday I was washing my eyelids with baby shampoo ( I have blepharitis and dry eye) and I think I did it way too hard and now my eyelids look more droopy now, I’m not sure if this is ptosis or more inflammation from the heat and rubbing ? thank you

Three responses. Firstly, in reaction to your video on migraines I find using a laptop or smartphone causes my migraines. Not instantly but many hour later, which mystified me as to cause, until I limited laptop and smartphone use dramatically and only used with blue light blocking dark glasses. Secondly, I got my first and floater immediately after rubbing my hay-fever itchy eye whilst hiking. Thirdly, I have a strange visual distortion of an area of 3D depth when I am looking at a flat surface such as a sidewalk. It is like a bubble of water but of 3D depth. It is only in one part of the eye's visual field and it moves if I move my eye. It does not bother me otherwise. Its just like a raindrop on a clear glass window, through which the glass looks more 3D. Hard to explain fully. Interesting though. I love your videos. So clear and frank and uncomplicated and cheerful and insightful.

Great video idea! My mom used to rub her eyes so hard, it made a specific sound. Like kneading a damp dough ball. Ugh. She had year round allergies that peaked mid August early September

1. Ceratoconus isn't caused by rubbing the eyes, however it can worsten it and I agree to the rest, about creatoconus you said.
2. You massage out your Meiboms glands. Thats good if you have dry eyes.
3. Rubbing out lashes, sand and other stuff out of your eyes instantly is better, than keeping it several hours in the eye, until you'll get to see a doctor, risking to get your cornea scretched much more during that time.
4. if you gently rub and do not do it every day like crazy, you'll be save with that.

I did watch one of your videos on floaters. Suddenly I am see floaters mostly comes and goes. Like fine black pepper like one or two. Normally in sun n in light. .. am 43 years with no issues but on perimenapause. Is screen watching bad for eyes. Can you tell me what is good for good vision . Am

I’m having fears of going blind because of my eye rubbing. I don’t rub my eyes when I have contacts on, but when my contacts are off and I’m rubbing eyes, I’m worried about going blind.
I Def am such a harsh rubber...literally have caused blur version from it and causes darkness under my eyes...wishbinwould have been more gentle to my eyes
I tend to rub alot in my sleep, which I have no control over , how can I combat this
Have you ever tried using a sleep mask? That might help!

what do i do if i have eye lashes in my eye. rubbing is the only to get it out. if i don.t rub my eyes the eye lash will stay in my eye

I do rub my eyes unconsciously while I sleep and I wake up and don't remember. Sometimes I catch myself rubbing at night. Tried drops to lube and nasal saline rinse. Any ideas how I can stop. Adult gloves ? Lol
lol same. when my friend was visiting. i fell a sleep and my friend was still watching the movie. he told me when im a sleep i,ll sometimes wake up by rubbing my eyes and fall back to sleep and i won.t rember that.
