    Guys, this goes for any country you're visiting: please be wary of overly friendly taxi people approaching you at stations offering rides. It's so easy to get scammed (overcharged) by them if you don't know the normal fare/rate. If you didn't have a chance to check it online, just ask one or two locals at the station what the normal rate is before getting in a cab. And whenever possible, take Uber instead. I know that wasn't an option.

    • @JordanandEmily
      @JordanandEmily Před rokem +3

      Definitely should have asked another local, you're right. He was very keen to get us away from the locals and into his car as quickly as possible, which should have been a warning sign!

I think it wasn't legal taxi I didn't saw any taxi sign on the roof of the car, I think it is "pirate taxi" and that's why driver was nervous on the serbian border, because police can hold him and seize his car in case that he doesn't have taxi licence.

    As a Serbian I really dont understand coruption in Romanian police for border crossing. Serbia is not in EU , but if any cop wants money from you, you can tell that to other personal on border check in that moment and report him.

      Your driver was dumb and ignorant or he had something to hide that made him nervous. The Romania-Serbia border crossing is quick and easy. Much less tense than crossing into Hungary, for instance, which is another EU country...
