    Thanks for the video. Your enthusiasm is infectious! I'm dithering over upgrading from my XT2 which I bought in 2016, but which continues to be reliable and capable of great images. Maybe this is the push I need 👍🏼📷

      Aw thank you for this! I really appreciate it! I know it’s always difficult to decide when or not to upgrade. If you are happy with your setup then just stick with it. Or if you want another camera you could still use your XT2 next to it. One thing I would say is, i have noticed my photography and videography has definitely improved since I upgraded from my XT3. It was a fantastic camera (and still is as I kept it) but I wanted to do more with my photography and it definitely has changed a lot for me, especially with filming being able to do videography 🙃

    Great to see you both again, welcome back to the UK. Love my xh2, great for wildlife (birds of prey and puffins) high burst rate combined with the cf express card makes for an excellent combination. Have the xt5 too and have tried to set my buttons to match the xh2 as closely as I can and use the xt5 for macro and landscape. Probably should have gone for the xh2s but not a videographer… thank you both for another great video. Stay safe and warm. Terryx

      @@wildandfreevictoria It is definitely better than overly analytical because it's too easy to find those reviews and there's enough of that. I try not to look at photography as just specs and numbers and for the most part would rather show off what a camera or lens can do by just showing pictures. This is why I think I'd be a horrible reviewer 🤣

    I have an XT5, I love it, working with it in documentary photography has been a very good experience, I record video with it and it gives me more than I need. I work a lot on projects with ballet dancers and it covers my focus needs and its photo bursts are sufficient, although almost in dance I don't like shooting in bursts, and there I realize that its focus is quite good, although many want me to say that other brands are better, I always say that for my work it is more than enough. and I got you an xt2 that out of love I don't want to let it go, it's part of my story with fujifilm

    The one thing that the XH2 does better than the XT bodys is handles large glass like the Fujifilm 100-400mm, I have used this lens on both cameras and without a doubt the XH2 with the thicker body and grip is the way to go with big glass. I use the XH2 and the 100-400 for landscapes and wildlife, the frames per second are plenty and 40 mp gives you the ability to crop and process your photos giving you a large film to print.

    Lovely to see an enthusiastic and energetic photographer / videographer who is producing content that has inspired me to think about how I am going to record my retirement Cruise of a life time. My current X-T3, XF10-24 (Original), XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR and XF 55-200mm f3.5-4.8 R LM OIS have produced some fantastic pictures. I would say the X-T3 video is ok but I would like better. Back in the 80’s I Climbed mountains in the winter and summer and recorded my time in the RAF plus other adventures with a superb compact ish film camera. I carried a Nikon camera with 20, 35 and 180mm lenses, oh I wish still had these. I am thinking of buying both the H2 and the H2S and adding the new 35 f/1.4 and the 150-600 lenses. These additions are costly and I am have reservations about weight and bulk at my age. The 35mm lens has always been my favourite focal length so I am also considering a Leica M11 with the Leica Summilux M 35mm F/1.4 ASPH FLE Lens and use my iPhone 15 for video in conjunction with my existing Fuji kit for when I need that extra focal length. The enjoyment I get from photography has been with me for 50 plus years enjoy your journey.

      As someone who went from the XT3 to XH2s, the video capabilities are greatly improved! If you are looking for a companion to the XH2s, I would suggest the XT5. You would get the 40 MP sensor but it would be lighter/smaller than the XH2.

    Hello Victoria 🙋🏻‍♀️
    your Slovenia bear vid was in my YT stream list so i ended up chk’g out your channel with this xh2 review to start
    Fuji/Nikon shooter gal here and was interested in your thoughts. Happy to see your about reviewing thru actual shooting wonderful subjects and not brick walls for corner to corner sharpness😂🙄
    your issue with the astrophotography (if you have not already figured it out??)
    I am thinking is with a couple settings that need to be turned off for night time shooting- i also turn off when shooting indoors - studio w/ strobes.
    Go to the wrench menu: SCREEN SET-Up
    scroll to page 2 of 4
    go down to: preview exp/wb manual mode and turn it off
    then go down next choice: Natural Live View - turn it on
    So now you turn OFF the electrical VF and use the camera like a Dslr
    you will not see the; wysiwyg image as you do when turned on - for regular everyday ‘see as it looks’ now when in shooting default
    just remember to go back & turn on wysiwyg feature to see images in vf as normally used when
    that should clear up all fuzziness in your VF for Astro (hopefully)
    Note: BTW, im on FW vers 3.03 in the event the pgs don’t match up, but should im think’g
    hope this fixes and brings you ease of astro clicks!!!
    Regards & sub’d

    Took my XH2 out today to the Zoo, after 6 years of a XH1 it was dammed shocking how far the autofocus has come on. Animal recognition with eye tracking, even still tracking them with their backs turned. Got a lot to relearn in terms of anticipation, framing and tweeking those settings, going forwards so far in time in tech is a bit of a lovely shock. Still love the light touch shutter button however.

    One question though : do you still have an xt-5 or "just" the xh2 and xh2s?

    Love your channel. Found it a couple of months ago and really enjoy your content. Question for you now that you have the 2H and 2Hs. If you had a wildlife shoot coming up, and it was something of importance, which 1 would you choose? I like the X-T5 but the buffer just doesn't work for action wildlife, in my opinion. I've reached a point of analysis paralysis.

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you very much! And that is a great question! I think if I was at a wildlife hide or somewhere i’m not moving around too much I would take the XH2 but if I was moving and shooting fast moving wildlife then I was take the XH2 as it is very fast - especially for things like puffins and I also love the filming quality of the XH2 with a telephoto lens. I know what you mean about analysis paralysis! It would be great if I could have one camera to do it all but that would probably cost me over £6k! 😫

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thank you! So I do change the settings a lot depending on what I am doing i.e increasing the tracking sensitivity or AF speed when vlogging in comparison to Self portrait work but I usually use this: AF Mode: Area, AF-C: Tracking sensitivity +1 and AF Speed -4 (but I do increase this for vlogging) but for cinematic the low AF speed is a bit softer and then I choose if I toggle between the eye detection or not, again depending on the situation. I hope this helps 🙂

    Great review! For someone who does like 85% landscape, 15% wildlife (some video but mostly photography) do you think this is a good buy over the XH2S? I’d prefer the XH2S to be honest, but that $500 difference is nothing to scoff at. Do you think the higher burst speed! AF, and better wildlife video specs make a big deal in my case? Of course this is kind of a personal choice and you can’t read my mind, but I’d love to hear your thoughts! Love your videos!!

    I have both bodies and they indeed complement each other very well. Just photography for me, no video. The s being much better for wildlife, the high pixel count body getting greater details and better cropping possibilities if the lens can deliver. But the autofocus is MUCH slower than the on the s.
    Both produce equally great images, but just like you, I tend to grab the xh2 more often when taking only one camera.

      You are most welcome! Glad you have both and enjoy them too. The XH2s is a much faster paced camera which I do love. A great comparison from practice, I'm also considering the XT-5 or X-H2. As I would use the Smallrig grip on the XT-5, the weight advantage is not relevant. The fully articulated screen is already an advantage over the XT series. But I will probably make the decision when I have both cameras in my hand.

      Thank you for watching and leaving a kind comment! There is definitely a difference between the XH2 and XH2s, especially when cropping in, the XH2 is very sharp and detailed - the XH2s is great too, but there is a bit more quality for stills with the XH2, but the XH2s is very good for fast paced photography.
