    1. Afronation! Afronation!! Afronation!!! ......founded by a Nigerian, no Ghanaian input and it has promoted Ghana for many years
    2. Nigeria is one of the few entertainment and culture capitals of the world, lifting Africa up in this category (Music, Movies, Fashion, Food, etc). Ghana does not rank even within Africa
    3. Nigeria is not hoping to sustain its economy with tourism, uncontrolled tourism even erodes culture; but Nigeria intends to build it's economy based on tech & innovation, science, agric, entertainment & culture, banking & financial service, Education and so on.
    Today, US and Europe line up for quotas of Nigerian doctors and health workers, the Middle east line up for Nigerian engineers.
    4. Nigeria is the only wholly-Black economy in Africa. An economy fully owned and run by black Africans. Black superpower in the making
    Ghana should stay in their lane and give Nigeria some due respect; there are two countries between us and many more countries around. All of them and the rest of Africa respect Nigeria; only Ghana chose the path of envy, competition and rivalry to challenge Nigeria non-stop.

    The Nigeria most people know is Lagos, and it has no security issues. Nigeria is a state-by-state experience, not a national one. Many states are doing things that, even Lagosians are not aware of. For example, google Calabar carnivals, and see what Cross River State does for a whole month in December. December is a period of mass return (internal tourism) in Nigeria. This implies that Lagos would be less congested and more suitable for an Afronation event during that period.

  • @genuinediasporan6661
    @genuinediasporan6661 Před rokem +23

    That Lagos is not safe is more a campaign of calumny and defamation of Lagos. Lagos is a state in Nigeria,not the entire Nigeria. There are security issues everywhere in the world. People get knifed in London almost every month. I live in the UK. Every time I went out, I watched my back. I took my children to Lagos for the first time in 25 years. They enjoyed themselves and even planned to relocate. The difference between Accra and Lagos is simply the energy. The energy is not the same,not security. Lagos is the safest state in Nigeria.

    Afronation, is owned by Nigerians. The organizers took it to Ghana because the Lagos state govenment at that time was not ready to support the organizers, so they moved it to Ghana. Ever since it has been happening in Ghana, Nigerians never complained, they never talked bad about it. Nigerians would fly to Accra to join the celebration. What Ghanaians don't know about this highlife is that they are trying to evolve their music backward.. There was a time in America when jazz and rock and roll were the order of the day. Then came disco, r and b, and then hip-hop. The problem with Ghana music is that they have not been able to evolve their music from highlife.
    Ghana tried to evolve Highlife by funding it with hip-hop to form hiplife. The problem with hiplife was that it was not exportable. It was just a local domestication of hip-hop. Some Ghanaian artists branched into dancehall. Between dancehall and hiplife there was no originality and so the music was not exportable,
    Nigerians on the other hand chose to evolve their traditional music in a more original manner. So they took elements of hip-hop and pop and fused them with traditional Nigerian music to give an authentically modern but uniquely African brand of music. The language of the music was the widely spoken pidgin English which in itself was a unique spinoff from the Engish language.
    Afrobeats will continue to dominate for decades to come because Nigerians have mastered the art of taking out specific elements of any genre and fusing them with afrobeats to give something even better that the genre they borrowed from.
    The only way forward for Ghanaians is to first of all find ways to evolve their traditional highlife music in a way that is authentic. and they need to create a whole pop culture to drive their music.

    Nigeria music, Nigerian movies, Nigerian art, Nigerian fashion, Nigerian food, Nigerian culture etc. There is one major reason why we continue to excel and advance, it is because we have the numbers and are passionate of who we are, resulting in strong powers of cultural influence. It is Nigerians that push Nigerian music the most, the distribution outlets promote the music due to popularity which includes those that have been influenced by Nigerians. We Nigerians make great efforts to promote our food, push our music, showcase our culture through dressing, and never miss the opportunity to share with the curious.
    Tourism will be next once the so called security issues are sorted, and watch out for local industrial enterprise that will take the world by storm in the next decade. I think Africa as a whole would do well if we stop defining ourselves by country with borders and draw on collective strengths as we showcase regional development. Imagine if West Africa was seen as one Country or région in Africa where Lagos, Accra and Abuja would just be cities in the region. It would certainly enhance unity of strength. Food for thought

      There are so many bad things going on in Ghana but they always covered them with their twi langauge and pretending that there is nothing bad happening in Ghana, Ghana is safe bla bla bla. Lol...
      So much killing is going on in Ghana but what they do best is to come on social media to talk trash about Nigeria/Nigerians.

    Thank you for all the talking and putting heads together but to me i don't see Nigerian music standing in the way of that of Ghanaian. If Nigerian music industry is doing better Ghana music industry should also put more effort too. We love Ghana music as well because we're all brothers and sisters. People mostly the youths gravitate towards the latest, most trending and vibrant music that's it. I think we should all aspire to make it great in the world in our different capacities rather than comparison otherwise envy and war of attrition sets in which we should all avoid. One love 💕

    Afro nation is even a Nigerian festival that they try to move from one country to another. Ghanaian president signed a deal with them to keep it for 5 years so as to boost Ghana's tourism. Again, it's a Nigerian show so what's even wrong with you people? There's no country that doesn't have security issues. The difference is that Nigerians are very vocal about their problems compared to other African countries that like to keep theirs hidden. Why not just continue with your year of return? Isn't that tourism too? Relying on tourism to boost economy is just weird when you have resources like cocoa and gold.

      😂😂😂 you most be a joker man, Nigeria has far more castles than Ghana, Ghana is a small country compared to Nigeria. Maybe you think Nigeria is only Lagos. I don't blame you. The security issue you are talking about is in few places in Nigeria. Ghana has 16 states while Nigeria has 36 states and all the states are like a different country, the issue of insecurity are main in about 5 states out of this 36 states and all are in the North

    • @albah289
      @albah289 Před rokem +1

      Nigeria can easily take over the tourism hype from Ghana without stress, everything Ghana have to offer Nigeria has it and even more. Ghana should just try to make use of this opportunity now to cement tourism in Ghana because if Nigeria shift focus to tourism then Ghana tourism will be in serious danger

    • @williamhanson4154
      @williamhanson4154 Před rokem

      @@albah289 That is not true. I am a Ghanaian and stayed and worked in Nigeria from 1980 to 1986 before I left to US. Because of the nature of my work I traveled to all the states in Nigeria. I nearly married there if I have stayed. It is easy to say it and done. First the security problem is very important. In the 80s, you will see dead bodies in the streets when going to work. One experience I had and I will never forget was in Lagos. Because of my job,I will be out of Lagos for three months. The very night I returned thieves raided our community. The next door neighbor who was a bank manager was killed with his wife. I went under my bed. They broke my door but since they did not see anyone in the room they left. Also,the country should have historical sites. Nigeria have some but they don't pay attention to it. Another problem is the fight between Christians and Muslims. You have to overcome that. Lastly, some places are very dirty and you will see people shifting at the roadsides. If you can stop the things I mentioned above you can compete. Anyway, I enjoyed my stayed in Nigeria and made a lot of good friends. Despite that I have been away from there almost 36 years,I still speak to those who are alive.

    My Ghana bredas, you keep making excuses for your artists and that is why they will keep on dwindling in the market place. If you put out good music, people will feel it whether you are from Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania or Nigeria. No amount of policy 'from the top' [Government aid?] will change the situation. Also, there's a pervasive amount of envious energy that seeps out from your messaging. It's obvious. Relax and address the matter with unadulterated LOVE and your artists will gradually begin to shine. But as long as you keep looking over at your big bro in Lagos and bad mouthing their security situation in an effort to make yourself look or feel better, nothing will improve for your artists. What you still haven't grasped is the simple fact that Nigerians are generally about love and keeping it real and it shows in movies & music which has been embraced by the mainstream international community.
