The problem with referees is that they are inconsistent. As a referee, it is no good if there is a difference in the decisions made between the two teams.
Lauren May Hemp received a yellow card.
She committed a foul and is fine with that.
However, the problem is that the foul committed by a Chelsea player on Hemp in the same match did not result in a yellow card.
If you watch the video again, you can see that the foul the Chelsea player committed against Hemp is worse than the foul committed by Hemp.
I'll say it again.

Against a tough team she should have played the same eleven as last week and eas the likes of Cuthbert especially back into the game. Erin. The others still got some minutes last week. If she wanted experience she could have started Melanie rather than Erin. But we have a lot of games to go.

@@stausser6074 the game got harder for Chelsea after the red. City was already up so defending the three points meant that City would minimise their attack. Chelsea's stats were superior they just weren't clinical in the final third coupled with the way City defended and help from the crossbar a few times. With respect to the referee, The premier league is the same thing. We just haven't seen it happen to the same player twice in a game.

Personally, if I was the ref, I would have gone over and warned her that if she did that again, she'd get a yellow card, then continued play, but that ref was correctly applying the rules. As for another team time-wasting, that has no bearing on the rules, just how the referee in that game applied them.

It seems that we know more about Chelsea after this match. They can't score against 10 opposition players, they cant score against 9 opposition players, but they can score against 8 opposition players on the field. If I was Emma Hayes, I would be apoplectic with my team.

Making time for her team to move up the pitch is called time wasting! Obviously the rules don't mean anything to Man City! Saying that the ref's are clamping down on time wasting and decent then complain when they clamp down on time wasting and decent show that the commentators don't give a shit about the rules either! If you go down to 9 men against a team like Chelsea due to discipline you deserve to lose.
