@@FluffishPuppy I like that when idols get older, they aren’t brushed to the side like in other companies. From what I know, BoA is now the creative director of SM and she has had a few comebacks in the past 3-4 years. Then SNSD with solo activities and Taeyeon and Hyoyeon with Girls on top. There’s a reason why SM is still so relevant today

@@jayqwuan yeah honestly I feel like the future big 3 or 4 (maybe even 5) will change a lot in the next few years. YG will falls to crumbs bc they mismanage their artists and don’t do anything in a timely matter so they’ll end up either becoming a mock of a company or just a modeling company (a good place for idols to go to get fame and recognition but then mainly use it for brand endorsements). JYP will also likely be a laughing stock if their next group sounds nugu like Xdinary heroes and Nmixx did (no hate to them I love them it’s just that the songs did NOT sound like they came from a multi-million dollar rich ass company). Hybe will continue being a monopoly and probably be the top 2 if not the biggest of all of them. And then FNC, RBW who is currently expanding quite rapidly and/or IST entertainment (recent merge of Cre.Ker and Play M) will take the remaining spot(s). But SM will stay relevant because they still keep their artists for long periods of time and while they still have their flaws, they do well at keeping their fans engaged and giving high (mostly) high quality songs.

Well, blame the toxic fans for making 3rd and now generation idol that they are on their tip toe doing anything. You don't smile, you get hate or judge.
Not to be this person but they also have carefully crafted personas. And many 2nd gen groups also didn't really live singed in their days (ofcourse it went from 60% of groups live singing in 2013 to maybe 10% of groups live singing nowadays but always)
i also feel like 2nd gen groups feel more "genuine" now compared to newer groups because they've gotten older and have been in the industry for so long. just wait until 3rd gen grow older and we'll most likely see them let loose like 2nd gen has, esp as they have less and less restrictions over time
@@ficklepicklessExactly, not to mention some 3rd gen idols have already dropped the rules, like members of Red Velvet or Mamamoo's Hwasa. They've established their position in the industry and they can do things that would get them into huge scandals if they'd been rookies.
2nd gen groups were just as proper in their rookie days as 4th gen groups are now. And let's not forget that 2gen is already in their 2nd or 3rd contract, and those contracts are usually less restrictive.

a lot of them are funny but some of these are legitimately really creative and fun ideas for an ending fairy. ending shots where they do something more creative than just stare at the camera while maybe doing a finger heart are always the best to watch

back then the cameraman will zoom out and put the whole group, who usually posing at the end of their choreography, in one frame so every member will be seen. Now its only focus on one member.

to be honest ending fairy concept are indeed only works for 2nd gens who are all full of comedic energy.
yes, that ending fairy concept is actually meant to be all serious, but being hilarious like the 2nd gen is the only way to make the concept interesting to watch. Not pretending to be all cool, hard to breath pose when we all know they could breath normally.
I don't why it's become a thing, I always jump to the another video when the song ends everytime I watch live performance on music show.
I don't think it's possible to breathe normally after singing and dancing for real, so I wouldn't say they are pretending, at least not the ones with hard choreographies who actually sing.
