12:14 "Thats some immigrant mentality"? Um, not really. He's not an immigrant, he made that film Police Story in his native Hong Kong. It's just the way he is in all his movies. A man of pure dedication! 😄
That's not her point though.
You really really missed the point 😂
It's just an analogy lol
She never said he was.
" I dont even have balls and I felt that" I'm dying :) 🤣😂🤣
A Lady like HER shouldn't use slang ! thank you , that's sad
@@nizaru100 Go back to your nursing home.
Die Hard is 100% a Christmas movie for so many reasons (flying to see family for Christmas, Christmas party, "welcome to the party pal", etc etc) :)
"Takes place at a Christmas party..."
"Oh, that's why they say its a Christmas movie..."
No... That is a part of it. But not only is the Christmas setting/theme throughout the whole film, but at it's core it is a movie about bringing a family together during Christmas... Realizing that family is what is important. The true Christmas spirit!!
It just also happens to have lots of guns and explosions. ;-)
Me screaming “The Last Dragon “ like they could really hear me 😂😅😢
You got that gloooooow! Shiiiiiiiine oooooon!
I kept thinking They Call Me Bruce...lol
Me too. When I Saw Sho Nuff, I knew what it was.
Yes!! Nobody i meet ever knows about Bruce Leroy!!
Love everyone is this comment thread. Cuz I thought I was gonna be the only one who knew what this movie was. I’m 22 and I’ve been watching this movie pretty much since I was born. Love it so much. Can quote the whole thing!
The disrespect to my dudes Sho’Nuff and Bruce Leroy is painful
That hurt my soul.
If was the 'Showin' Off' for me! I ascended!😂💀 But cried at the same time that this ABSOLUTE CLASSIC got zero recognition (c'mon Sharon!)😂
I’m crushed that nobody knows Akira OR The Last Dragon
Akira is the movie that got me hooked on anime
THE LAST DRAGON!!!!
Seriously!!
This film captured the imagination of a generation. Yeah, we knew then the visual effects were immature. But getting them at that level of quality in a low budget kung-fu film (giving superhero vibes) was pretty cool.
Facts!
The last dragon is one of the greatest movies of all time. I will die on this hill. It's only rival is Big Trouble in little China.
EDIT: DUDE you dropped in Akira? SO good.
... and Izzy got it! 🥰
Kudos for including Police Story & Akira.
I know the answer to the Robocop question about the face. It's (lore-wise) Not real skin. The "face" we see under the helmet is not made of flesh, it's like an animatronic. They kept Murphy's features to "honor him" and give him an approachable an human aspect. Frank Miller at his best
Is there a part 2 to this? Because you can't forget to include one of the best movies to come out of the 80's. Queen with the music, swordfighting from a nearly blind Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery as an egyptian for some reason. Highlander was epic!
Agree one of my favs
"I didn't know Snape was in Die Hard" sorry but it's more Hans Gruber was in Harry Potter
Predator, Bloodsport, Robocop, Running Man, The Last Dragon, Die Hard, Big Trouble In Little China are some of my favorite movies that I can watch over and over again. I also own most of them and do!
The man that played the Predator was Kevin Peter Hall, who was 7'2" tall, a full foot taller than Arnold. Originally, it was supposed to be Jean Claude Van damme in a kind of bug costume (there's some test footage of it), and he quit because the costume was hard to move in and it obscured his face. Fun fact: Stallone actually hates guns, but is most famous for his roles in movies where his characters use them.
Was very happy to see both The Last Dragon and Big Trouble In Little China on here.
It just ain't Christmas until Hans gets chucked off Nakatomi Tower and Ralphie shoots his eye out.
IKR
In the original predator Van Damme was supposed to originally be the predator but he turned it down because he didn’t like that no one would see his face or that it would be obvious that it was him.
Also Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat was inspired by Van Damme from Bloodsport. He also refused to be recorded for the character. The split punch is Johnny Cage’s signature move.
But his "alien" costume was a horrible design. Glad they went with what they did!
Oh the disrespect to Akira... Totally unwarranted. Akira is iconic and influenced a HUGE chunk of modern dystopian fiction movies.
The disrespect for "The Last Dragon"
Have never heard of it, & I grew up in that time lol
It's what happens when you get people who only think of cartoons as children's entertainment, unfortunately.
Great movie!! So was The Last Dragon
Galaxy Express 999 is great too
It’s not christmas until Hans falls off of Nakatomi Plaza
"They're AWESOME!!!" I love how disrespected Joe felt at their total ignorance of the Shogun of Harlem. On behalf of a generation, thank you Joe.
"Sho Nuff!"
The Last Dragon made my happy childhood days in the 80's 😂
To this day, I say "Chill out, chopsticks!".
Same! Seeing that on HBO back then...whew. Memories.
In the last segment, the guy who got stabbed in the head was James Hong from Everything Everywhere All At Once.
He is also Mr. Ping's voice in Kung Fu Panda i do believe, i might be wrong though
He’s also the blind Ping Pong guru in Balls of Fury.
The Last Dragon was awesome! Gotta get the Glow! 😍🤛👊💛
Die Hard is a Christmas movie!
100%
Its a Christmas tradtion every year my mom and I watch it
Yes it is! Just like Lethal Weapon!
Man reliving my whole childhood through this video
The fact that Izzy not only knew, but was the only one to know Akira! I think I love you.
The Last Dragón the Best movie of marital arts ever!!!
My parents watch this movie most of the time
I'm so happy The Last Dragon got some love. It is one of my favorite movies.
Both Izzy's are FIRE, man... :)
Aaah. Remember showing Akira to my Dad when he was about 70. He had visited Japan several times so got the neo-noir fututurescape vibe immediately. He said it "got a bit weird at the end though!" . A bit? Makes me wonder what he saw over there.
Surprised he didn’t say anything about Big Trouble Little China and how it influenced (or inspired) characters in Mortal Kombat
Fun Fact: The line that Mrs. Weasley used to end Bellatrix in Deathly Hollows pt. 2 ("not my daughter, you B!TÇH!") was inspired by the line from Alien (Get away from her, you B!TÇH!")
Im 52,i have and still do watch those action movies.
everyone judges akira movie by seeing that bike scene 😂 but this movie is mindfu**king
0:30 if she's talking about the Predator franchise, Prey is on Hulu and it's amazing and it's always been a person in a suit in every movie. The only CG they do is for the camoflage and that's something they've always needed to do even in the first one.
Yes, these bring back so many memories my childhood. That is why I think God every day. I'm a child of the 80s we had some of the best of everything.
when they said " SLAY QUEEN" for the Aliens scene. i was like Lol ACTURALLY, Sigourney Weaver IS acturally slaying a QUEEN alien XD
With the bits of trivia they said about several movies, I was surprised they didn't tell them how Die Hard was Alan Rickman's first theatrical release movie role. He'd done a few short roles in TV series and a made for TV movie. It's kinda remarkable that one of the most iconic bad guys from the 80's was in his first movie role.
It was also his first American movie debut.
Arnold appears
Everyone: *TERMINATOR*
Should have included Lethal Weapon. And Akira is so influential that one character in the John Wick movies has the same name
I love Big Trouble in Little China! My favorite camp of all time. It was hilarious
“I don’t even have balls and I felt that.” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣
now i want a full react on Jackie Chan.
Police Story is one of my favorite movies ever, and that doesn't even start to describe his skills and commitment.
I love that famous Han Solo shooting stance that Robocop used.
All my dad would play when I was 12 and under, (early mid 2000's) would be Arnold, Sylvester, van Damme, Bruce Lee, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mel gibson, Danny glover, etc.
That’s my husband🤦🏼
I don’t watch Akira and even I knew how revolutionary it is for anime films then. I’m not liking the disrespect for the film.
The Akira slide was referenced in so many shows and movies and the movie itself has been cited as a major influence for numerous movies for DECADES. Even now!
There’s a reason why it became a legacy.
Also the Matrix wouldn't have existed without it so Sharon is being a fossil yet again
Big trouble, overboard, escape from L.A./ New York basically any Kurt Russell movie from the eighties wasa straight up fever dream and I love them all.
It’s Not Christmas Until Hans Gruber Falls Off the Nakatomi Tower
80s action movies are on a level of its own. Hokey but awesome, weird but stylish, cheesy but cool af! I loved The Last Dragon!
I remember watching Robocop at the drive-in!
Die Hard is totally a Christmas movie, I will die on this hill!
Of course it is. Ignore those who say otherwise.
One and Two. Change my mind!
Kinda suprised that Blade Runner wasn't one of the films shown for this video due to it's iconic status.
That's more of a dramatic sci-fi film, than an action sci-fi film.
I hope they went back after shooting and just had a movie marathon with all these
The Last Dragon is a classic movie in it's own right
A little surprised that it wasn’t mentioned that The Last Dragon was produced by Motown founder Berry Gordy and that the soundtrack included several Motown acts, including the number 3 hit “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge.
You didn't have the best line from Predator in there, where one guy says to Jessie Ventura's character "You're bleeding" and Jessie responds "I ain't got time to bleed."
Nope..."Get to de choppa!"-lol
@@harrymiram5562 That's probably the most famous one, still think "I ain't got time to bleed" beats it but that's a matter of opinion ;)
I absolutely love the Jillian and Izzy combo. Those 2 are by far my favorites in the whole channel.
I will sing the praises of Big Trouble In Little China and The Last Dragon until I die
Sho Nuff is the greatest character of all time.
“Akira” is a masterpiece!!!!
"You're hit man, you're bleeding"
"I ain't got time to bleed"
"Oh, yeah? have you got time to duck?"
I love that scene in Predator.
It's a Christmas movie. I will DIE on this hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But Hans will plummet off it.
@@derekstein6193 just..... 🤜🏻🤛🏼 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was a really cool episode. Also loved seeing Sharon and Izzy Iman together. I’ve never seen that pairing before 🙂
R.I.P. Carl Weathers
I’m in for the watch them all movie marathon, also DIE HARD is and always will be a Christmas movie!
"that some immigrant mentality.." 12:02 🤣🤣
THE DISRESPECT TO AKIRA!!!!!
Predator cute? Well he was a hearttrobe among other predators.😂
Haha yeah
I want to see more of this!
“Here’s Sub-Zero! Now, Plain Zero!” Arnold should’ve saved it for the first original Mortal Kombat movie.
I kind of wish they had included examples referencing scenes from Akira like Nope
Alan Rickman aka Snape and Hans was tricked by Die Hard's director during the final scene when Hans falls to his death. Alan's face shows that he was really scared. Because Alan was scared of heights. Director lied to Alan that planned fall wasn't that high.
You should have informed the women that Peter Weller aka Robocop is besides acting, a Professor, PhD in Art History at Syracuse University. Peter recently voiced his character, Alex Murphy aka Robocop for a video game named Robocop: Rogue City set to be released November 2, 2023.
They indeed brought the Predator back in the movie Prey... Which is an awesome movie
Love Last Dragon. I knew them all except Akira. Did not even know it existed.
Really? One of the best anime movies of all time. It didn’t inspire me to watch more anime, but it stood alone at the peak of the 80’s anime movies.
My favorite producer Joe... I could be wrong but I believe you forgot to include the most important part of The Last Dragon... BERRY GORDY's The Last Dragon.
Jean Claude Van Dame's split and punch from Blood Sport became the basis for the character moves of Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat video game. However, Van Dame was not available or they couldn't get him for the actual shooting of the game, so another martial artist was used.
Big trouble in little china is awesome if you like b movie also fun fact lo pan is played by James hong which most remember from everything everywhere all at once
The really insane thing about Predator is that two of the stars became Governors, and a third ran and lost.
And John-Claude Van Damme originally played the predator.
My little brother wore the 'Last Dragon"VHS cassette tape out , Every day he would play that over and over again , but to be fair he also played Purple Rain to death and Barney.
Is it sad that I named every one of these instantly? Gen-X!!!
As fellow Gen Xer, this was our childhood 🤘🏻
Izzy I would absolutely love to binge watch all these classics with you. I own most of them.
BloodSport is my ISHHHHH!!!!! Thanks to my dad every 80s kung-fu karate etc I have seen
So many Amazing Movies in the 80's, so glad I grew up then, either a Movie Theater or a Drive-in... So awesome!!!! 💯💯
Bloodsport is probably one of my favorite movies from Van Damme bedside universal soldiers with with Dolph London funny thing if you seen what he did this is where they based the character Johnny Cage off of for mortal combat
apparently if you went by Frank Dux(The real guy Van Damme played)'s description of what happened, the kumite had more participants than the entire population of Earth
Dolph Lundgren...
The Last Dragon is my favorite movie from my childhood!!
The Last Dragon 🐲 one hurt😂😂
6:12 Jennifer Lawrence made it possible for Sigourney Weaver to play a strong woman in an action movie.
Truth !!
It's crazy to me that americans know only jackie chan for rush hour..He has alot of classic movies
Facts. I always enjoyed his movies same as Jet Li.
I know right. But sadly, not really a fan of his newer ones though. I still watch them but there is something missing. You know. Like maybe 2016 and such. Not sure of the years but just some of the recent ones. I understand that he is now older and taken a mentor role or fatherly role but at least don't make it so generic. Gives off a bitter old man sometimes. Like the one about his character and daughter was a reporter wasn't bad. But the way the story was a little bit too long. It was not terrible They could have shorter it a bit. But saw a trailer where he is a commander I think. Looks exciting.
I know him for a lot more movies but I just mention Rush Hour just because it’s my favourite comedy action film 🤣
Jackie & Chris have amazing chemistry
@@liizzsetHe has a new movie with John Cena looks like a decent one
So many don't realize the significant of akira. Before akira anime was mostly fighting like dragonball, big robots, aliens invading, space pirates and detective shows. After akira anime got weird.I've watched anime since 1978 and saw so many over the years. From old Astros and gigantor, through capt harlock, the original robotech m across series, go lion, both voltrobs, space battleship yamato, mazinger z, Dragon ball, and mAny more in the 80s. But when Akira came out so much changed. I watched it at a walk in theater the month it was released in america. There were like 20 people in the whole theater all anime fans. We all ended up set to in the middle rows and we got to know each other and chatted about anime manga comic bookx graphic novels we exchanged numbers and kept in touch. That was a group I'd go to comic shops with or even went to a convention.akira did that. Brought a bunch a kids together from all over San diego county for our love of anime.
Wait so your group until Akira never watched Thundercats what about Ninja The Wonder Boy which was a "movie" but was just from an entire series of anime from japan and heavilly stripped ? ? I mean yeah both has vibes but is neither Akira nor Dragonball, they did involve space/time so to speak.
Lets be serious unless you grew up in Japan you missed tons of anime and many anime that was specifically made for foreign nations if grew up in Japan
@@demonic7610 yes. even in the 70's and 80's anime was already not just a genre, but a medium that encompasses many genres. from the OG magical shoujo like Creamy Mami, to Weird Science/ET types like Urusei Yatsura, to quasi-sci-fi like Doraemon, to Aesop's Fable-ish like Ikkyu-san, to family sitcom like Sazae-san, to romcom like Maison Ikkoku, to young romance stories like Orange Road, to political sci-fi like Gundam Zeta, to full on cyberpunk dystopia like Dominion Tank Police, to really well made but very much pornographic Urotsukidoji... the spectrum is no less as wide as the entirety of Hollywood, and the quality of many of these shows are really good, just look at what Studio Ghibli was producing back in the 80's... it's not just another Disney Princess movie for the x decade in a row... or "cartoons are for kids" Tom and Jerry/Looney Tunes (not that they're not great, but that's all those old fogies at the studios will greenlight).
I love videos like this, because everyone is like "Omg Its this actor from this movie, I didnt know they were in this!!!" When most of the clips they're seeing are the actors original roles or first gigs and the ones that they know them for came way later 😂
I'm over here at the top of my lungs singing " You are the Last Dragon. You possess the power of the glow!" To this day I don't know why The Last Dragon wasn't more popular. Do you see the abs on Bruce Leroy? And a Berry Gordy soundtrack? The Last Dragon inspired me to take karate. That lasted for all of 1 summer lol. To this day if I asked my mom, who's the master? She'd automatically say "SHO'NUFF" Its such an iconic line. OH and that Busta Rhymes video, Dangerous, was inspired by this movie. Busta really looked like Sho'nuff. That video made me happy. Like somebody else knows this movie!
I got the DVD! They do not know what they're missing or messing with!
U got that GLOW!!
_The Last Dragon_ is to "Black" to know for the majority of the _FBE Reactors,_ just like _The Wiz_ and the _R&B_ topic videos.
Sadly _Friday, Tupac, Biggie_ and _Nelly_ is about the "Blackest" the majority of _FBE Reactors_ go back, even Sharon.
Kudos on showcasing The Last Dragon!! Made me smile!!
Y'all seriously need to watch some more action movies..and you left out Chuck Norris? Criminal.
Only one I didn't know was Akira since I don't watch anime.
As a child of the 80s, I gotta say well done React for picking these 80s action movies. Seen 'em all! 👍
It ain't Christmas till Hans falls
When you watch so many Jackie Chan movies and they all start to run together. At first glance I said Rumble in the Bronx, forgetting about Police Story.
Same here.
Same here. I first thought it was Armour of God. That was the only one I didn't get.
How could you give a "So Close" mistake when they said Alien and not Aliens, but not give a mistake when they said "Mad Ma the original" when talking about Mad Max 2 or The Road Warrior?
Die Hard is absolutely a Christmas movie. I watch it every Christmas while wrapping presents.
It is 100% an easter movie.
@@SoyAntonioGaming It's a New Years movie aCtUaLlY.
@@SoyAntonioGaming It's set during the Christmas holidays at a Christmas party. There's Christmas music in it. One could argue the theme of the film is about family - you know those people you spend time with at Christmas. Also, "Now I have a machine gun. HO HO HO."
I appreciate your very wrong opinion but it's 1000% a Christmas movie.
@@LeeHarrison89 I can guarantee it is more of an Easter movie than Christmas. U just didn't see the Easter Eggs because they were already hidden all over the building. Ask Bruce Willis
@@SoyAntonioGaming Haha the great Nakatomi Plaza Egg Hunt. Mr Willis just took it very seriously.
This wasn't bad. Watched most of these movies before and saw clips of them from the rest. Also, they should do this topic again but with popular Chinese action movies. Well popular movies for both Eastern and Western movies. Like Rumble in the Bronx or Kung Fu Hustle.
2:02 The reason the Palm thrust to the gut was so impactful, is because its the Tanaka's special strike called the Dimuk(Hope I spelled that correctly). In order to prove he was representing the Tanaka, JCVD had to do their special strike on a stack of bricks, JCVD palm thrusted the top brick, but it was the brick in the middle that got all the impact with no damage to the other bricks. That foreshadowed this scene, JCVD did the Dimuk, the mans insides felt the entirety of the blow, he had a hard time breathing so he used his arms to do a vacuum action to get air in amd out of his lungs so he can attempt to do one last attack on JCVD, then we get the Split Legged Low Blow.
Frank Dukes, JCVD's character was the insperstion for Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat, when the movie of Mortal Kombat was in the works, JCVD was approched to be Johnny Cage in the movie, however he had to decline the role because he was already contracted to do be Guile in Mortal Kombat's fighting game competitor Street Fighter, Street Fighter The Movie beat Mortal Kombat to the punch.
Good news for Mortal Kombat recently though, it finally came around full circle in Mortal Kombat 1, the latest fighting game from Mortal Kombat has a dowloadable skin for Johnny Cage, and it is none other than JCVD, you get to look like JCVD as Johnny Cage with JCVD's voice.
