  • If you want to play »Jazz« on your Ukulele - it’s good to know some basic chord shapes and basic progressions. The »2-5-1«-Progression is one of the most common progressions in Jazz - and here you go with some chord shapes to play it in C Major.

    James Hill, Lyle Ritz, Glen Rose, Gerald Ross, Garam Jeon, are all great ukelele players who can play jazz, but Iso Herquist is the only jazz musician I've found who plays ukulele!

    Brilliant!! I watch your lessons all the time and play along, learning but still don’t understand a word.. Wish I’d actually listened in my German lessons at school instead of day dreaming about girls, guitars and rock n roll!!
    Excellent lesson pal! Thanks 🙏

    Yay!😊 Really glad I found your videos and especially your first video in English! Great lesson, the kind that lets you experiment with the chords you taught and get more familiar with closed voicings. Thank you sir!

    What a great video. Please do more jazz videos please. Can you show more 2-5-1 progressions up the neck and with different keys? Thank you. I just saw that you have more on your channel. Great.

    This was an awesome video. Is that a Low G tuned Tenor Ukulele?

  • @ZabDevin
    @ZabDevin Před 6 měsíci

    Great video. The G9 chord is actually a Dm6 or Bm7/b5 according to my chord app. I also notice that there is no G in your G9 chord. What am I missing?

    • @IsoHerquistsUkulele
      @IsoHerquistsUkulele  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The shape can be a G9, a Dm6 or a Bø - depending on the root played by the bass. It’s nothing special to drop the 5 or the root in a voicing.
