  • Welcome to our Baahubali: The Beginning Movie Reaction! After watching RRR with you guys the next logical step was watching this masterpiece! Thank you for suggesting it to us. We hope you enjoy our reaction as much as we enjoyed watching this.
Directed by SS Rajamouli who’s work we were first introduced to during the fantastic RRR film. This time we came to watch Baahubali: The Beginning a movie lots of you were suggesting in the comments of our RRR reaction.
We hope you enjoy our reactions thoughts and discussion. This film was filled with some incredible visual effects, powerful performances, and a very interesting way to structure a movie. We’ve seen flashbacks done before but the way they utilized it here allowed for an original way of telling the story.

I was in school when this movie came, it was biggest hit in whole Indian audience. And part 2 came when I was in junior college. And that time everyone used to say or ask one question, " Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? " This question was a meme, a joke, a serious question everywhere, even on TV shows! People had to wait so long for the answer. And makers of Baahubali were so good in maintaining the suspense for that whole time. Not a single hint was leaked till the release of second part.

I guess you guys thought that why katappa didn't recognise Bahubali during fight and why after fight. This is due to the mud stuck on bahubali's face. So when he turned back suddenly, the mud got cleared due to the rain water. And that's how katappa got to know that he's none other than Bahubali himself. 👍🏼

For those 2-3 years, “Why Katappa Killed Baahubali” was the national question, probably one of the best promotional line the makers got even without doing anything, and that hype perfectly set up the buzz for Baahubali 2. The hype was soo much that the makers included a hashtag #WKKB(Why Katappa Killed Baahubali) in the trailer of The Conclusion. And without a doubt Baahubali 2 became the biggest hit Indian Cinema has ever seen & by a huge margin(almost 3-4 times the previous biggest hit).

    2. They also created a special song using this language.
    3. When shiva is entering the kingdom he crosses (air, fire , water ,etc) this is the reference of lord shiva crossing 5 senses.

Just because it is easily available in the country where you reside does not mean the entire world has access to that specific version. We explained why we could not film it using a VPN (insane buffering) therefore a streaming service used in a different country was not a solution especially for those who watch our Watch Along on patreon since those need to be synced. If there is even a tiny bit of buffering it renders the copy useless to us.

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali series was a sensation and is a benchmark of Indian cinema. Both films were and are still the highest grossing films in India. "Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali"? was the National question and was viral across the World with memes. SS Rajamouli followed up with RRR and created another benchmark for Indian cinema. @@OfficialMediaKnights Might I suggest that you watch Sardar Udham next? It is the best companion film to RRR. Won many awards in 2021, including for best actor. And it portrays real events during British rule of India, events from 1919 to 1945. It is unlike any other Indian movie: no dance numbers, nothing over the top, completely grounded and very well researched period piece. Almost a documentary.
While in RRR, the British are portrayed as 1-dimensional villains, Sardar Udham presents a much more nuanced view of it. And yet, the evil of the British Empire is felt much more clearly in Sardar Udham than it is in RRR. So it is a great companion movie to RRR that shows the entire range of Indian cinema when trying to portray similar topic of British Colonial rule of India.

i dont know how to describe it. As the movie released in 2015, the question was more than a meme or a slogan
People on TV Shows were making jokes and almost all the people were talking about it. I think Baahubali made the most buzz in Indian Cinema, even more than RRR
I think the movies ,that I asure you, every indian has watched are Baahubali 1&2

I totally love that sort of carried away into fantasy... I watched it with my best friend and we were speechless... eventually I said "that was magical" about Hamsa Naava and it's also so important to the plot! Ties right back in because right afterward the tallest pole of the boat breaks off (is that the mast? I'm not a sailor) much like how right after Panchadara Bomma misunderstanding strikes. But after Hamsa Naava it shows how even a princess can get culture shocked by such a massive empire.
It's also important that the matriarch had no idea one of her sons was going to fall in love like that and... anyway the misunderstandings are well scripted. Not sure if Hamsa Naava or Panchadara Bomma is my favorite music video.

Your reaction on Bahubali DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. Totally in love with your channel. Please always keep the same energy and interest in lores. Kattapa is basically Ned Stark of this universe bound by duties 😂 I think someone must have already explained it but still the reason Katappa didn't realize its Mahendra is because there was so much mud on his face which washed off by rain right as he was about to kill him. The story in the past is about Mahendra's father Amrendra. You're right when you say its the best flashback and quite new strategy (the tent one) used in war. Loved your "RRR" reaction, and this was just as fun- and loved how you again repeatedly called out the work of KK Senthil Kumar (cinematography) and MM Keeravani (music). And regarding your discussion at 45:07 - Rana Daggubati (who played the evil brother) just talked recently about how SS Rajamouli took out a massive loan at a *very* high interest rate to make this, and when it was released they were worried that it wouldn't be successful enough for them to continue with the second part. Imagine if they never made the conclusion and answered the question of why Kattappa killed Bahubali!!! Movie didn't came in 2016
It was postponed to 2017 due to the VFX and budget for the 2nd part is even more
But the budget for these 2 movies are not near to half of the Avengers movie budget
1st part was made with just 28 Million $ and the 2nd part was made with 37 Million $
and 1st part collected 650 crores INR (which is 121.333 Million $) So 1st part got 4.33 times the profit of the budget
For 2nd part movie collected 1810 Crores INR (which is 267.8 Million $) So 2nd part got 7.24 times the profit of the budget
And the AVENGERS 1 made with a budget of 225 Million $
So these 2 Baahubali movies are made with 3.46 times less than what AVENGERS 1 was made
