    Really great tips! I was recently given some advice about stopping potential fights by using a sheet of paper. So b instead of trying to separate them you just stick the paper in between. It's quick and easy! I'm working on introducing a green cheek to my black capped and I really like your tip about a table with separate spots to avoid territorial behavior. Definitely going to try this!

If my first bird is out every day for most of the day do you recommend still having that much out time? I’d be unsure about my first bird crawling on the other birds cage. Also functioning around the house with the first bird while the second watches from the cage, would that be ok?

Her current bird most of the time attacks the newer bird (both quakers) the newer bird is a kind of a special needs bird and isn't as lively as her current bird. Occasionally her current bird preens the newer bird but for the most part kind of attacks the newer bird. What would you recommend in this case to try and have them bond if it's possible st this point? Thank you.

    I'm toying the idea of getting an English Budgie as a companion for my 2 year old Green Cheek, separate cages naturally, plus the English is twice the size of a regular budgie. Your tips are definitely worthy. Though I don't want to have a second green cheek, especially since there will be an age difference, plus want to avoid breeding issues.

    • @zacktory161
      @zacktory161 Před 2 lety

      Thats not a good idea, if your green cheeck conure is on a bad mood he will attack or kill the budgie, please never keep only one bird, and get another conure from the same age and species, different gender, if you dont want them to breed dont get a nesting hide, and they are not going to lay eggs.

    i have a quaker parrot and i am looking into getting a budgie. i dont know how old my quaker is, my family rescued him before i was even born, but now hes fallen into being my pet. his past owners were extremely abusive and he has been traumatized by them. the pet keeper that had him in her shop, was sobbing so hard when we bought him, because she was the only person Pudge (bird) has liked since the trauma, and she didnt except anyone to want him. now, hes very territorial, and i can feed him and give him water just fine, and he likes to climb on me and sit on me, but he does not like my hands at all. and, whenever any other person is around, he goes absolutely crazy. im and my family are very used to this, since he's always been like this, but how would he react to another bird? in the past, we had a cockatoo at the same time as the quaker, but unfortunately he passed. i dont rememeber how the acted with each other because i was very young, but i do remember that the cockatoo really liked me. anyways, sorry for the long read! i hope to get some advice :)

I’ve caught them trying to meet, now it’s on a regular basis. I put my green cheek Conure on my shoulder, and my Sun Conure on my lap. They never fluff up, become aggressive, or do they display any negative be. The day my Green jumped next to my sun on a communal cage they weren’t attacking. I always put my sun on a neutral cage when I get ready for work in the morning. One morning my Greenflew off the cage and climbed up on the perch with my Sun. Not sure how long they were together, but I freaked out and pulled them apart. Does this mean they won’t fight if they meet? So I have 2 parakeets and a cockatiel they are out together a lot but I’ve noticed my girl omelet wants to preen my cockatiel Zazu but if she gets to close he hissed I want to try and work things out so he will stop hissing and I stop worrying about them being to close he doesn’t mind them next to him or being around him only when my parakeets try to preen him I know my parakeets won’t attack it’s obvious but they are also a decent size smaller than my Cockatiel so got any advice to help with this? Or is this one of those cases they just need time because all 3 for the last month come out all at once morning till bed time

      It sounds like the birds are still making adjustments because by what you said a few months ago it's only been a few months since they were introduced. My sister had a cockatiel and by species they are easy going, generally. A parakeet is often more active or hyperactive. His hissing is just telling her to back off. He wants his space. Perhaps as more months go by he will come to enjoy the preening. As long as they don't attack each other, but learn to respect each other's space.

    I have a male green cheek conure which is 5 months old and a female half moon conure (orange fronted conure) which is 4 and a half months old. I got them both at the same day about a month ago, put them in one big cage, but the male one bit the female, at their first night in their new home, too hard that it started bleeding. I was forced to pull the female out to help her, she was so scared, I cleaned the bleeding spot with water and had to put her in a box for the rest of the night. Next day morning I woke up earlier so I could have more time searching for cages. I finally bought one, same size as the first one and she stays in her new cage at the moment. Unfortunately she remains scared while getting out of her cage, but she makes few progresses every day

      @@aeyeshashaikh4546 Now, 1 year later, they are like best friends! Sometimes they might want to attack each other when they steal food form one another, but generally for stupid reasons. It's definitely not like they will fight to their deaths. They are prinning their feathers every day, they talk, they play together (but when I'm playing with them the male one will oust the female one for my attention 😂).

    • @elylazpro
      @elylazpro Před 11 měsíci

      @@aeyeshashaikh4546 My opinion is that you should keep it but in a separate cage, quite near to your old bird's cage. If your old bird is afraid by the new one each time it sees it or if your new bird wants to attack the old one, even when both of them are in their cages or at least one is in its cage, then you should also keep them in separate rooms if possible. Birds, as animals, can socialize while eating together (millet for example). Thus, they can and will (I'm hopeful) be alright when they are out of their cages. Even when the get along, do not move them in the same cage, just move the cages next to each other.

      hi! if they've been aggressive towards each other for a while now, that may just be how it will be between them. you could follow the tips i mentioned in the video and monitor for any good changes but if they're still consistently aggressive towards each other, then they most likely have made up their minds and i wouldn't try to force their relationship
