Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

As a retired farmer and retired 40 year volunteer at our local Crisis Center I was very pleased to hear the positive discussion of mental health issues. Keep up the good work.
He was paid to plug this company. Don’t think for one second that did this on his own.
He's getting good at reading the the cue cards
Wow, thats very arrogant of you to say about someone that you dont even know. I can assure you that Zach does not and will not push anything that he doesnt believe in or support. He is very much the type of person that would care deeply about mental health issues in this world. Unlike every other employer in this world.@HAWKSTA24
He made money reading an ad from a horrible company! He wouldn't be talking about it without that check! @epaulzine
It is so nice to see Onyx in the videos more and seeing him run more equipment. Good job buddy!
So that’s why it’s going to snow in MN this weekend, you took your snowblower and push blade off
This is accurate. I'm sorry
@@MillennialFarmer Thanks man I have to cancel a Dr appointment. 😁 Sadly wheelchairs and snow don't mix well.
Chgo Church engineer removed plow blade from...p/u@@MillennialFarmer
@douglascampbell9809 does John Deere make a 4wd wheel chair? 🚜🚜
@@mikewithers299 Now that would be interesting.
Zach, thank you for talking about mental heath. It is an important item and we all need to realize someone close to you/us may need some support. Share the love - share the support.
One added bonus to homeschooling, you've got extra help once Onyx is done. Wished I had that option as a kid
Its good seeing you and Onyx working together. Great memories is made this way. He is a hard worker.
Zack, how does it feel having Onyx old enough to continue increasing in the tasks he can help with on the farm? As a viewer, it has been pretty cool to see his progression over the years of the channel. Grandpa is probably pretty proud too!
Thank you for sharing your experience with mental health issues. I see a grief counselor since I lost my husband last year and I couldn’t imagine not having someone to help me through this difficult time in my life.
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
I will keep you in my prayers.
Blessings 🙏🏻
Oh cry me a river and quit praying for a hug
My condolences. I faced a similar situation but with an unexpected divorce. Counseling and time does help.
3:07 Only a farmer would say that he lives 500 feet from his house lol, thanks for the videos Zach!
I love it, when you us technical terms like 'muddy gush'!
I hope I didn't confuse anyone!
@@MillennialFarmernope! Clear as mud to me 💩
Ahh, good old Minnesota mud!
It is always good to see people pushing the fact you can get help if you need. It very important for farmers as they can have hard times with poor conditions. Thanks Zach!
Grow the fuck up would ya
I have been struggeling with really bad mental health for about 25 years now.... And it’s absolutley nothing wrong with asking for help from time to time. But remember, a cup of coffee and spending some time with a friend and talk about how you are feeling can make a huge difference. It can actually save your life. ❤️ ( Yes, thats’s my own experience, multiple times...)
I absolutely agree. Sometimes just sharing a problem with a trustworthy friend makes all the difference in the world
Soda in McDonald's, Culver's, DQ.... Denny's, IHOP, Village Inn❤😊
Mental health is important. I’m glad you addressed it.
He was paid to plug this company. The reason I know this is the same reason you know it to be true. He has never discussed mental health until now when he has been conveniently compensated.
look up the history of better help & you will never support them again
Love the old MinniMo. Simple turn of the key and it purrs like a kitten. No need for the new muffler. It sounds just right. 😊
I was not alone when I noticed that also.
Onyx is learning well. Soon he'll be like the actor that plays the Millennial Farmer and he will set that hitch right in place on the first take!! 😂😂
No, seriously, Great days work Zach and Onyx!!
Id love to see Jim & Onyx work together on a project. Jim's old school and Onyx new school, I get the impression Onyx doesn't like to get his hands to dirty ( works smart not hard ) That video would be hilarious !! 😅
Hey that actor that plays Onyx in these videos sure has got that hands in the pocket pose off to a professional standard.
The actor of Onyx has a great acting job in the future. I agree.
Modeling future too!
Rock Revival jeans and Hey Dudes.
The Fashion Farmer!
It looks like Onex is getting better running a scoop shovel. It is a rite of passage to be a farmer.
I know it is a proud day for a father when his children help him with what ever task needs to be done. I have my own proud days. One is when I was to be helping my 30+ year old son cut up some trees. I jerked a muscle while trying to start my saw. He started it for me, then put me to work.
I notice the Moline fires off quicker than any of the new ones.
It’s also a gas motor
They are already planting corn in areas of Central Illinois. Someone even said they heard one of the big boys putting some kind of hardy soybean in. Everyone is going nuts with field work.
Champaign IL ❤ I-74 / I- 57 US 45
It's great when your kids get old enough and strong enough to help. It gives me hope to see you and your family working together.
Thank you for your heartfelt comments on mental health. I am sure someone somewhere needed to hear that.
Oh for fuck sakes you’re weak
The Moline sounds pretty cool with a broken muffler I don't know if I'd wanna change that lol.
Everyone needs to get their brain relieved occasionally. Thanks for your testimony.
After a day when it seemed we were going backward I see Zach saying he didn’t get as much done as he thought he would! Actually made me feel better! Farm on!!!
Every time you start the Moline that sound makes my day.
No wonder why my dad enjoys your videos!
Onyx is sure becoming a big contributor! Not justa tractor driver.
if you cant do the work you cant drive the tractor
@@nevets4190 Yep! Gotta earn the driver's seat! 👍 When the farm works hard for you, you work hard for the farm.
Onyx drives deer, Deere's, "stock" cars, and 'bout anything else that needs driven on this channel and "Between The Rows"....and I'm certain Zach and Becky and his sisters are proud of him!
Hearing the MM was the treat of my day. Thank you
Great to see you & Onyx working together.
Very well spoken, Mr. Johnson. It takes courage to speak openly about sensitive issues such as mental health. Using your platform to spread the word speaks volumes about your character as a man and a farmer.
I saw the tractor thumbnail, i thought it was Larson farms. I was happy to hear your voice. You and Larson are great people to watch.

It’s always very important to “go ahead “when backing out of the shed.
I see what you did there. Now I'll think of this every time 😂
@@MillennialFarmer lol. Well a Canadian farmer needs to give you American farmers a hard time some how. And I always hear you guys say I’m gonna go ahead and do this or that. “. So when you said that when backing out of the shed I couldn’t resist. Lol. Cheers.
Zach, you've hit home on the mental health section. I have been seeing a therapist for the past two years and I can honestly say that it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Anyone who is battling mental health issues should know that they don't have to battle alone. There is help available and NO ONE should be ashamed to reach out to a therapist. Thank you for bringing this issue to the forefront!
That boy is gonna be taller than you before you know it.
It's soo nice to see him being interested to help you around cos nowadays kids get addicted to video games on a concerning level.
Good to see your son taking an interest and actually doing.
Zack, thanks for sharing that you and Becky have used a professional to assist you two with mental/emotional challenges over the years. I have been a police/fire chaplain and have been on too many suicides over the years. I applaud you for encouraging folks to make the effort to talk to someone before they get too far down the 'rat hole' of life. Blessings to you, Becky and your children.
You nailed it with the mental health talk. The hardest thing people have to deal with is admitting they need help. The second hardest thing(s) is walking in the door, making that phone call or text for help. Mental Health is real and can't be overlooked. Good luck everyone. Remember you're worth it! Thank you for talking about it.
Thank you for your support for mental health, I am sure you saved a life today.
Mental health is Very important
Its nice that he mentioned the mental health of farmers. In the UK there was a big push to highlight mental health last year where the youtube farmer olly blogs drove a combine from John o'groates to lands end for charity which is about 900 miles.
Good to see Onyx being involved with day to day farm activities......👍
The sock cracked me up. So many similar experiences here. Also it's a good thing you have Onyx there keeping you working.
That boy of yours is growing up - extra pair of strong hands is gonna be great. Nothing brings on youngsters like responsibility
"Achieving those goals.... anybody else ever run into anything like that?"
Nope. Never.
...... 🤣🤣🤣
I have a list of decades that qualify..... If I could find the list...
Very happy you addressed mental health! Shows leadership and courage.
...love that you said "children's socks," not kid's socks. (one a my peeves)
You just taught me something about mental health ie overwhelmed...
Dont'cha wish that all your equipment would start up as easily and the Moline. Something to be said about old technology. 😎😎
I REALLY appreciate you sharing your world of farming. When i was 5,6, and 7 yo, my granpa had 70 acres, i tractor (red lol) one, maybe 2 trailers, 3 or 4 cows, 1 or 2 pigs...4 or 5 dogs and a bunch o chickens. AND he drove dump truck for th county. It wasn't easy then either. That was almost 65 years ago. I'll be 70 in in 6 mo.
...im building a gazebo in my bk yd... i have 1 wheelbarrow and one dog.😅
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Alot of people focus on physical health. Not enough shared about Mental Health? Leave it to a, Farmer, to, Share the Field. Thinking, in a Tractor. Gives prospective. My dog Chief, is Anna's Brother. We be Realated. Unconditional ❤
Thank-You for talking about mental health Zach! It’s something that needs to be talked about more and like You says there is nothing wrong in asking for help if anyone needs it! Thanks Zach!👍👍
Light rail or a tram… I’m glad I didn’t have a beverage in my mouth when you dropped that line! 👍
Good comment on mental health , much needed .
My wife and I are over 50 years married , we have a counsellor that helps us and keeps us communicating between us , Peter
After 50 years you think you would know how to talk to each other 😂
I will keep your marriage in my prayers.
Mental health is a great topic however Better Help is a malicious company. It's brutal he is taking their money.
@@rickjames8279can you elaborate on what makes better health so bad?
We been married 45 and just use grunts and hand signals now.
Millennial Farmer videos are my betterhelp
Thanks bro for mental health talk, the emotional dimension is so insane yet unknown. glad your striving to improve and grow healthy minds towards the objective.
Dig out the sleds, winters coming back.
This is a excellent video and thank you about talking about better help, I hope people reach out for help the farmers are the backbone of this country.
Really appreciate you bringing up the mental health issue. My wife struggles with several mental health issues which is leading to her divorcing me. It has in turn affected my mental health. I currently go to therapy and their's no shame in it, like you said.
The word for how your day went is spuddle: “To be extremely busy whilst achieving absolutely nothing”
Great speech on Mental Health, thanks Zack ( from Canada )
Great seeing your son help out more
"Dont shoot my butt crack."

Thought that was what I heard! 😂😂😂
Don't show
You are so right, healthy mind healthy crop.
And most of all happy life.
Hey Zack, put a nice high heat painted muffler on that NICE old moline!
I can think of no lifestyle that would require mental health care than farming. Third generation farmers here and you can’t begin to understand the stress and suffering we endure! THANK YOU for sharing this critical information!
Still love the storm bent exhaust AND the dawgs. Thanks for sharing.
Love the edit on mental health! Sometimes we just need to know that someone is there. Thank you to the whole MNFarmer team!
Wow! This is very big workshop. I wait for next video. good day everyone & ❤❤❤
Ty for the mental health call out. Been good for a couple years but i had a pretty rough night last night. Trying to put the pieces back together but just hearing ya talk about it gave me a small reprieve. Thanks again
Thanks for another great video Zach and Becky and Onyx.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
Lots of maintenance items getting ready for spring and getting equipment ready for spring field work. Always takes longer than we think with interruptions from this and that. Oh well.
Thanks to onyx for pitching in with things around the shop. Nice to have an extra set of hands for this and that. Good helper there.
Rock picker time. Seems kind of different running one of those. We normally don’t run them here in Iowa. We never did have one. (Central Iowa).
Looking forward to seeing the new planter and new used tractor for the planter.
about it I guess. Thanks for everything. You all take care and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Make sure all the equipment is in cause you don’t want another mower gate on your hands. Like you did when you left the Deere mower out and it got snowed on.
Thanks for sharing Zach
That's really nice Zac thanks for sharing that message
Great message, stay healthy
So awesome to see Onyx on the videos. Farm work grows character. :)
please be careful when changing attachments as we just had a local farmer killed when his son put the bucket on the skid loader and raised it up and it fell off onto him always put doen pressure and physically make sure anything is attached.
Kudos Zach. Be positive, be healthy......
Awesome message about mental health support....!!!
great video. thank you
Good job, You took up a very important topic about mental health, my better half works out these issues whit farmers as clients.
Greetings from Finland👍
Way to go Onyx. Good help.
Great mental health message👍
Funny to hear the Moline start much quicker than a modern JD😅
Awesome video Zach. About time you cleaned that shop up some 🤣🤣. 🚜🚜🚜
God bless you buddy! Stay safe
Another awesome video Zach keep up the great work
Zach, Your power source could be a possibility.....if there is a fluctuation in amps to your elevator system could cause a "lag". Possibly, install a SURGE PROTECTION ON THE PRIMARY PANELS FOR THE ELEVATOR
Love you addressing mental health!! Please keep it up.
Keep up the good work Zach
Good job taking Better Help and mental health awareness.
My kids leave socks in strange places also.
Transitions and distributors can be a royal pain depending on the weather for the day. Metal expands and flexes when heated and contracts and shifts when cold or could have condensation that became ice blocking flow so you might be able to find the issue when it gets could again. Also our old Oliver being a diesel sounds almost identical idling as the moline does on cold starting
❤ From the state of Maryland. Thanks
Thanks for the show guys 🍻 🇦🇺
I appreciate your honesty about mental health.
Thank you very much for the comments on mental health it’s extremely important, well done👍
Snow coming big time
Love your video today. It's great to see how your son helps you. Very informative and interesting.
Looks like you are going to need those snow shovels in the next couple of weeks
