I know that some anime watchers are cringe, especially online, but getting the chance to socialise and let our "inner weebs" out at conventions is a good thing. I'm not a weeb myself, or at least I don't watch nearly as much anime as I used to, but my weeb side comes out when I find someone else who watches anime.
But if we are talking Japan as a whole... It's a place I love, but I don't consider myself a weeb at all.
I don't personally get the chance to talk anime much in real life, aside from a couple of my mates, so conventions are important to me. Sadly, I don't get much of them in Australia.
And honestly, if anime is gonna bring these people together and share some smiles, laughs and good times... Well damn, that's great, isn't it?
Again, cringe aside. And there are some assholes online, and those people I actively avoid, or talk shit about.
As someone who plays the piano and... Okay, I play a lot of anime songs... I've always wanted to gain the confidence to play in public, at an event like a convention.
I just wanna makes others smile with my music, that's all.
