Divi 5 April Progress Update

- Every month, I update the community about our progress on Divi 5. Divi 5 is the next big version of Divi that will introduce a new foundation for the builder, focusing on improving performance, stability, scalability, and extendability. It won't come with many new features. It will, however, give our team and the development community the tools to push forward into the future. It will also make Divi much faster, among many other things!

Very glad to hear it will be an update from V4. One big complaint we have right now is that DIVI takes a LONG time to update in our shared hosting environment. We had to stop depending on WP Management tools (i.e. ManageWP and others) to do DIVI theme updates since it would leave 20% of our sites in a maintenance or broken state because the updates failed somewhere and there is NO way to see in a log where the update failed. I would HOPE that you attack that problem as well and provide some tools to log (trace) updates/upgrades so we can see failure points and push those back to development.
It would be nice to have a roadmap and an idea board for Divi 5. You guys should rely on the comunity to improve Divi. As for now, i wonder if the html output in Divi 5 will be better, with less bloat and "divception".
Good work...
Can't wait to get my hand on the new Divi 5 😉
I'm a Divi fan already many years...
Thanks divi team
💜 Thank you Nick & ET Team!
Will Divi 5 support better flexbox and grid settings?
Thanks for keeping us updated on Divi 5.0.
Thank you for the update. I look forward to continuing with Divi.
Watching this, I just realized Nick Roach looks like my nephew that they could be brothers. He is a software engineer as well. haha.
Thanks for the update guys. Exciting times
Thank you team!
For sure this is right direction! Very well thought out
Thanks Divi Team!
Great update!
I really hope Divi 5 fixes the flash of unstyled content (FOUC) present in every single divi website that i build, even in new ones with no plugins (and yes, i am aware of that snippet that hides all the content of the page until its files are fully loaded)
this is the most annoying part of DIVI, i also hope they fix that or tackle it somehow
i would even go one step further and say that if DIVI 5 doesn't fix this i'm outta here ... not sure if elementor has the same problem but i'll definitely find out if necessary.
This occurs when your page gets cached when styles are output in the footer, before they are cached into CSS files. Clearing your cache, or finding a caching plugin that respects the DONOTCACHE constant will solve the issue.
In Divi 5 I would definitely welcome better placement of individual modules on the page. This way I'm constantly trying to figure out why negative margin works somewhere and why it doesn't. I've also run into the problem that I create pages in 4k resolution, but then it doesn't look nice in the lower resolution. I would have expected better responsiveness in that regard.
Love Divi and have been using it for years. Looking forward to getting my hands on the new version!
However, I have always thought that it would fantastic if you guys were able to separate yourselves from WordPress. I realize that's borderline crazy talk, but how awesome would it be to use Divi (in your favorite IDE) and just be able to output the HTML or even integrate with other CMS's and such.
Exciting!
We would like to see more than one video per month :(
This is good progress and thanks for being upfront about the timeline etc.
Is there a planned AI component for Divi and if so when would we expect to see it?
Would love to see this too.
Yes, this is something we are working on right now It's one of the "exciting new features" I alluded to at the end of the video :)
Awesome
♥️
Divi 5 looks great. Do you plan to integrate AI as elementor AI is announcing? Could be very very interesting!
Yes, this is something we are working on now independently of the Divi 5 project.
Looking forward to see more AI usages, Free media and more Woocommerce Themes.
Also mor compatibility with Gutenberg?
Sorry if I've missed this piece of information, but is the actual user interface of the visual builder going to change significantly?
There may be some superficial changes, but nothing that alters the core workflow.
I’m having issues with Divi being mobile friendly. What am I missing?
Is Divi 5 going to be based on the block editor somehow or is it going to be it's own thing?
Divi 5 will be it's own thing. However, it will be built using many Gutenberg packages and in a way that makes it much more compatible with the block editor and the future of WordPress as a whole. This was an important consideration for us when choosing Divi 5's technology stack.
I just need a BCC field on Divi Contact Form. No but seriously, good job guys.
Can you improve the CSS styling for elements so I don't need the !important on !important CSS overwrite and make the code cleaner?
That would be amazing!
Will flexbox be added? hugely missing feature
Will there be much of a learning curve from D4 to D5?
No, it will function the same way. It will just be much faster, among other things.
did I understand correctly that if I bought a devi module from you, but the developer did not adapt it for divi 5, then it will stop working when the theme is updated? What should those people who bought modules for version 4, but their license expired, buy again?
Whats the best seo plugin for divi?
will divi 5 have a AAI content builder like Elementor?
Is Divi5 the start of a monthly fee strategy?
Divi 5 won't affect our pricing. Our only monthly fees are associated with other services, such as Divi Cloud.
I injected a configuration into Divi to test if it would work, and it worked smoothly, almost perfectly, practically 100% compatible with Divi. It's ready and compatible with Divi, and I think it's even better to use than the configuration of Divi itself.
It was so impressive to use on Divi that I don't understand why it hasn't been added to Divi already. I'm sure that if it were added to Divi 4, it would be by far the best function within Divi, probably the most loved one on Divi.
Nick, I'm so sure of the potential of what I'm talking about that I would bet my lifetime license that, in a poll asking Divi users whether or not they would like the function, in less than 20 days, it would reach 500k likes if Divi has 800k or 900k users.
If you don't hit 500k likes, you can cancel my license, but if you do hit 500k likes, you have to put the people who are creating these tools for Divi 4 to implement the functionality. As I said, it's ready, just inject it into Divi and make some adjustments, probably less than 30 days, and it will be working smoothly.
I'm talking about something that will make everyone look at Divi before choosing any other builder; it's amazing. And if I hit 500k likes, I want a lifetime license for all the products that Elegant Themes has out there, and you'll have to put it on the website that the idea was mine due to the challenge.
I was going to make a proposal for Divi-Pixel in exchange for a license, but I couldn't get in touch with them. There's also DiviEngine, who are working on the best tool for Divi, but they're in a rush. But if a developer releases the function, it wouldn't be fair for you to implement it later in Divi because it would be cowardice with the team that developed it. I'm sure that if Divi-Pixel put it in their plugin, it would be the best functionality of Divi-Pixel and Divi.
If you're interested in the challenge, just let me know, and I'll send you an email telling you what needs to be done.
Have in mind, one well-executed idea can be more valuable than a thousand poorly implemented ideas.
I would love to participate in beta
Please add a mobile menu that actually looks good.
Oh look, its WordPress Jesus
😆🤣😆
After dealing a client this week having a site designed with a standard theme that broke on an update - I hope you focus serving the agencies that use your products and not individuals. And that backwards compatibility remains top on the list. Otherwise clients WILL switch to website services and away from WordPress altogether.
Divi is getting more and more behind Elementor. (Missing Mega and Mobile Menu Builder, Missing Content AI, no Frontbuilder predefined sections) and u say Divi 5 will not give us more features and u say Divi 5 will only be public Beta this Year. So we will not get new features this year and near feature o_O This is really disappointing!
As stated at the end of the video, we are working on exciting features and services that are not part of the Divi 5 project that will benefit Elegant Themes members! As for the scope of the Divi 5 project, it's true that this is a huge project that won't add a bunch of new bells and whistles. That might not sound very exciting on the surface, but we are confident that this new foundation we are building is much more important. It's been 10 years since we launched Divi. A lot has changed, and we need to make sure we are ready for another decade of development.
@@elegantthemes I really hope this will be truth. I will wait till Divi 5 finally release and then make a decision which Builder I will use the next Years. Iam switching from VC and using Divi now for 3 years and did notice at the end its slowing down with new stuff/features. U say in another CZcams announcements(about 1 Year ago) its because u working hard on Divi 5 and all teams are forcing this. Now u say divi 5 will not have much new features, that confuse me... Hopefully Divi 5 will be come better in future and Divi 4 will really getting the new features u talking about. I like divi and dont want to switch again!
@@elegantthemes I also agree, I have been doing some sites using Eliminator, I absolutely love the Divi community and support, the header especially and how I can customize it, any suggestions? I hope there's more options for a more powerful way to edit headers, menus etc.
I just tried this designer and was extremely disappointed. The cost of DIVI at the moment is 100 euros + their “AI” is another 25 euros. But in fact, everything works crookedly and askew.
I wish I could block this guy from the CZcams ads roster. I don't know how you guys make your targeting, but the Divi CZcams ad is the most annoying thing I've ever been exposed to.
I was really excited to hear that! I bought Divi, the pioneer of this business, last year, but unfortunately I couldn't get used to using it. I really hope Divi 5 turns out to be flawless and I can start enjoying it!
Divi 5 will function and look the same just a lot faster so if you couldn't get use to it. This update will change nothing for you
@@ethanhaveron5617 Although it is a bit more complicated than the UX Builder and Elementor tools that I am used to using Divi, it basically works with a similar logic. What makes it difficult to use is that it is not stable and fast. I hope it gets better after these updates.
