Indeed I am neither into soccer nor World Cup. However, I stayed in front of the TV only for watching this YSL tribute show (I remember it was claimed the biggest fashion show ever) at the closing ceremony. What a fantastic show 💃🏻
As for us at the Stade de France that day it was truly a rare treat and a once in a lifetime experience as we await the final match between Brazil and France in which France won 3-0, our holiday in France during that time was truly worth it.
@@dennis12dec May I know if you joined the French went celebration for the victory in the streets right after the Final? I am sure the atmosphere was incredible over there back then.
@@tomlau9495 Yes we went to the celebrations the next day and the Champs Elysee was so packed with people as the "Les Bleus" paraded on an open top bus holding the World Cup trophy 🏆 the atmosphere was so great as one Paris resident said it was reminiscent of the Liberation of Paris in 1944, we're able to watch the Bastille Day Parade which was very special before we left France days later. As for the Yves Saint Laurent fashion show it was truly unforgettable as we've never been to a fashion show and he brought his collections to a wider global audience and to the common people.

When we entered the Stade de France in July 12, 1998 we have no idea what is going on as the football pitch was covered it was actually an Yves Saint Laurent 40th Anniversary fashion show with 300 gorgeous models strutting down to Maurice Ravel's "Bolero" before the France vs. Brazil match, this is the most unforgettable moment as we never been to a fashion show and this is a rare treat, Haute Couture or High Fashion is always a great part of French culture.

Sim , nós primórdios da TV à cabo , era diferente de hoje o aparelho e a instalação e a mensalidade eram bem caros e só havia 2 transmissoras o globosat e a directv!
Eu achava que uma cerimônia de encerramento de Copa do Mundo deveria mostrar um pouco da cultura do próximo país anfitrião, nesse caso Coreia do Sul-Japão.
