Timmy drinking a Timmy's, cool. Ya slow it down Tim. I have 2.5 million miles over the road, its better to arrive a day or two late at your destination, you may not fall asleep at the wheel but your reaction time is longer when your tired. We would like to see more of your videos, so please stay safe.
hehehe, will do!
@@TruckHouseLife you doing good if you need anything in ab hit me up
@@TruckHouseLife would really like to meet you so if your down I'm near valley view and you'll be heading through there on route to edmonton
Agreed. What’s the hurry? Not like he has to keep a schedule for an employer.
Hey Tim, I run the Alaska Highway for a living running fuel to most of the gas stations you probably stopped at. You started at the Whitehorse Super Store, that's a customer of ours. And I could relate to the stops you have made. Cool, awesome.!
I hauled fuel in ND and Montana. I’d love to haul up there in AK and Canada.
Things happen for a reason and maybe the power steering going out was a sign you needed to rest. 15-17 hrs a day driving can take a toll on you….. mentally and physically. Enjoy the ride dude!
FACT!
In the US, Department of Motor vehicles will make you use a ELD if you advertise you drive 15-17 hrs a day quite often. haha. Truck Drivers in the US had to start using ELD's a year ago or so
Tim, you should post a map somewhere in your description or at the beginning of your videos that shows the route you have gone so far up to each episode
I actually have figured out the route as you were explaining it I think. At Dawson creek instead of taking the Alaskan Highway 97 to Prince George you are actually taking hwy 2/hwy43 to hwy 40 to hwy 16 to jasper cutting off alit of miles. I think I have the numbers right maybe they are not highways though
hmmmm...
yup! can't tell it all though;)
@@TruckHouseLife As I was trying to follow along on a map all I can say is the Trip seems to go on forever and you’re not even to the US yet
@@daveg4353 Absolutely correct :)
I'm sure glad you know how to fix your own truck, must save you a ton of money. And you're right, you could have been out in the middle of nowhere!! Good luck and safe travels!
Yup, skills come in handy some times;) hahaha
Great video! Having that time alone to process & think & lay your eyes on something fresh, is so good for the body & soul. I’m loving your adventure! Thanks for bringing us along. 🌲♥️🌲
Yup I love long silent road trips:)
HANK 3! I've seen him live 7 times. Such a badass concert
He should be listen to
Wayne Hancock also!
Hank did a remake of one of his songs.
Nice!
right on
Your comment on road trips pretty much nailed it
That’s why I long hauled the entire US Midwest and most of Canada
It’s a great way to figure out your life all that time on the blacktop
Gotta love Nappa my go too parts store……
9:35 If you're road tripping through Canada you'll find that Tim Horton's is almost indispensable. Great place for coffee, free wifi and 2nd breakfast. Excellent Apple Fritters. And beautiful as they are... you want to avoid Jasper and Banff in the summer time. Yoho and Kootenay are just as beautiful and aren't swarming with people.
Good to know haha
Having lived in Alaska for over 24 years & driving the AlCan many times. I so enjoy following you on your road trips. Liard Hot Springs! Yes! So nice at the end of a long driving day! Thank you for sharing your adventures.😊
thanks!
Take care of that back. Mine is shot. Have had several fusion surgeries and on 4th spinal nuerostimulator implant which helps kill some of the pain. Stretch stetch and stretch. Thanks for the video!
Hahaha so interesting hearing an outsiders perspective on my country! Love from Alberta!!
lol right on:)
Hard to believe no one in Hinton stocked that power steering hose.
Best part about being stuck in a truck in a random city, is being stuck in a random city in a truck with a house on it. Hope all is well!
FACT!
breakdowns and vehicle trouble go hand in hand with road trips, especially long ones. I did a month long road trip in the early 90's in an old jeep. Fun coming down out of the rockies and have the back brakes go out.
so true
Road trip! Welcome to Canada!!👍😎🇨🇦
Already out;)
Damn Timmy, I guess it wouldn't be Truck House Life without a little drama, stay safe my friend!
FACT!
Jasper to Banff is one of the most beautiful scenic roads in the world! Enjoy!
Yup wait for it;)
@@TruckHouseLife I look forward to that Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway), on the next video....or the one after that.
....and I appreciate and enjoy your video style. Very fun to watch.
Awesome video as always Timmy. So far this road is so epic hopefully the rest of your road trip goes smoothly. Sending luck from South East Georgia USA.
At least you can fix it yourself! I'v seen other that don't have any clue.
true!
I like how you don't let things get the best of you. Keep keepin' on Timmy!
Creep on creepin on:)
You're right, the best part of any road trip is the thought processing of your life while your driving AND some Hank 3 helps too!!
Yup! my fav!
I just wish I was young enough to do the things you do. I love your truck and cabin, it’s awesome
A little Hank Williams III.. I love it!
OH cool! I just watched the vid when you stopped at Liard hotsprings in the winter...beautiful spot
Love your videos dude! It was cool to see you rocking some Hank III!
Thanks man
I'm glad you said that it's hard to imagine how far away Alaska is because 3 mins earlier I'd paused the vid & was looking at Anchorage-->Banff & felt stupid when I saw 36 hour drive.
If you get stuck in Northern California (like real north, up by the Oregon and Nevada borders) my parents have 1,000 acres you can stay! My grandpa is a mechanic he might be able to help you out otherwise my parents will let you stay and probably give you free beef or something! So sad I’m back in South Dakota I probably won’t catch you driving around anytime soon
Nice already outta there, too much smoke lol.
I think your truck was just making sure you got some rest. Take care, and safe journeys.
hmmmm good point;)
Alaska and Canada are so F’ing beautiful I can’t see any reason to leave other than for CZcams filming.
👍@7:44 I agree. That’s one of the reasons why I love love love road trips too. 💝
Timmy cranking some Hank Williams III. Gotta dig that on a road trip.
🤠🏴🇬🇧☝️awesome bro Dave in Cornwall👏👏👏yeh the bison been here years
Thanks man
Kudos to you for maintaining a mature attitude when faced with a mechanical breakdown 👏👍. Maybe you freaked out off camera but I was impressed with your rational approach to fixing the issue. You are so lucky or just have good karma for this to have happened where it did. Take care and we will be looking forward to your upcoming vlogs.
Yup jus trying to be calm;)
To fix that power steering pump line you could have just taken the fitting off the power steering pump shove the hose back through it and use a flare tool and reflect the end of the hose I'm pretty sure but I could be wrong
Seen you in Whitehorse. New to your channel. Keep rolling
Yup! Outta there quick, down in the states already:) and welcome!
If ever traveling the Alaska Hwy and Passing through Fort St John or Dawson Creek stop by for a Podcast
One Timmy to another...yes long road trips you really have time to think...think about alot of things I your life....I was traveling carpenterfor several years...Then later an OTR Refer truck driver....
fact, that's why I love long drives:)
Dude... your loyal fans are starting to worry about you. I keep expecting to see the follow up to all this with you back on the road.
I'm alive;)
You should see if you can find that power steering part but with steel tubing and nuts vs the aluminum tube which is more prone to fatiguing with movement, cracking, and then failing.
Southbound and down, brother! Heading out for Utah in a few days.
Yup! Maybe see ya on the road!
@@TruckHouseLife Moab is lit! Got the party started for ya.
Handy that Hinton is only a 1/2hr from jasper to visit your buddy
In 74 we saw airstreams with both axles ripped out and sitting on its belly
Timmy you got the Positive Karma your way with all happening & get'n the part ya need. Safe Travels, Always, Tommy :-)
Hopefully so!
Love my Tim's
lol
Road trips are the best time to think. I roadtrip
In my Chevy 1500 reg cab with a pop up truck camper on the back. My muffler fell on on the highway in Maryland and I had to climb under and kick it off so it wouldn’t drag, blew a brake line 40 miles in the woods in northern maine and luckily a campground owner nearby had a brake line flare kit. lost a brake line in the white mountains in New Hampshire and had to vice grip the brake hose and make it another 90 miles home. Blew a front wheel bearing 10 miles from home on the same trip. All part of the adventure and the best stories. I don’t even get mad when something breaks I just enjoy the challenge
Here in the UK we find it very difficult to conceive of the distances involved with travel in the US and Canada. To us 200 miles or a four hour journey is a really long way to drive, while you think nothing of driving for fifteen hours in a day. A fifteen hour drive for us is a physical impossibility, as we just don't have that much road in one direction!
my style just stop anywhere along the way side of the highway chill sweet bro
I like your shoes they look so comfy. Canada has some of the best off road camping ever...
you might get a hydraulic shop/tractor place maybe sometging like AK rubber to make you a hose?
Lug nut, fixed it;)
I am so excited to see the road trip threw liard and jasper I am from terrace bc and going to go up threw dease lake and liard then back threw jasper in two weeks so excited!!
Yup it's comin!
My Husband has a 99 F250 7.3. The same exact hose blew at same exact location on his. He lost steering and power brakes. It was a dealer item back then. Real pain to change too. Some crazy hose end design by Ford. Not your typical hose end. Good luck with it.
lol dang it
lol dang it
Take it easy Timmy...
Noooo;)
Well atleast you had old Hank the 3rd to keep company. My old military buddy from west Virginia got me hook on Hank III back In 2008, not to many people listen him. Well depends where you live I guess. But sweet rig man. Just found your channel and had some time so going through watching some of your videos.
Hahaha 🤣 I seen you cruising through Dawson Creek 🤟
yup!
The pump shaft is lubricated by the fluid, no fluid, only residual lubrication. You are very lucky you were so close. If you can help it, maybe not use NAPA parts when oem is right there. Good luck with that pump.
Yup got lucky for sure!
Broken down in Hinton! I was there 4 years ago ... they have a very nice mtb park there!!
Safe travels!!👍
Not sure if you're talking about the same place... just a few minutes down the road from Hinton are the Wildhorse Lakes camping facilities. A wee bit rustic but the scenery is hard to beat.
Yup lol, maybe next time!
The Canadian highway illustrates how big British Columbia/Canada is. How American to think that highway illustrates how far Alaska is from everything LOL The USA was adamant about getting Alaska so they could have a military base in that location. That is what i learned in the Canadian school system.
When I seen the title I couldn't imagine what could have happened as you weren't towing a trailer hehehe. Thank goodness it happened where it did but bummer it put you back a day, you need to get an extra line and fluid for spare as there is obviously a continuing problem with that power steering set up. My lower back was aching just watching the miles you have been covering. Looking forward to your next vid. Thanks Timmy.
Already outta there!
Parts is parts but they’re hard to find everywhere even in the big city currently. 👍👊😎
FACT!
It's never a real road trip without a little dramatic make the story better later when you tell it !!! Find a bar and perform some songs for some drinksTimmy !!!
Right?! A story I'll have for sure;)
It's a hard part to find(?). Maybe when you think of it order a spare to have on hand? Just a thought. Rock on Dude! Good be along for the ride!
Yup got a spare now;)
It was lucky you were close to town, it was probably the rough road that caused the hose to pop off. Anyway, you can now catch up on some sleep.
Fancy there being a fish & chip shop out there, I thought it was only us Brits that them.
soooo lucky!
Hey Tim. Love the road trip videos, especially in beautiful terrain like that. Look forward to more, keep em' coming!!!
if you get a chance again, the sunrise soaks in Liard are amazing
Yup maybe on the way back!
Tim Horton’s is the BEST!! Want them here in the US!! 👍👍👍
lol
Thumbs up for Hank III
right?!
Wow! More familiar territory and expensive Canadian diesel fuel. LOL! TIm Horton's is gross. Yuck. Avoiding Prince George is always a good idea. LOL! I used to live in Dawson Creek (mile zero). Hinton, Alberta...oh boy, aren't you lucky!?! ha! ha! ha! I hope the trip gets better. Thanks for taking all of us along with you.
Yup, actually the states is more expensive now lol
I miss Tim Horton's so much, its crazy we don't have it here in Australia. Have a Maple Donut and Tim Bits for me!!
really lol?
Man I love your 7.3! Awesome rig!
Love you taking us along on your kickass adventures! Thanks!!
Thanks 👍
Awesome video man love the truck n camper makes me miss my crew cab 97 great vehicle always love your videos have fun in Canada if your ever on vancouver island give me a shout
so again you are proving how great it is to have your house on your truck! no need for a hotel
Boaters usually handle adversity with a bit of calmness.Or portage 😋
You are blessed to have broke down near a town, thank God.
right?!
I did that drive a few years back but in the opposite direction. One of the coolest experiences of my life. Spent a night at the Liard hot springs. Saw phenomenal northern lights, basically the whole sky lit up. Really cool to see the place again.
Nice!
That was the biggest beaver I've ever seen! 🦫
Right?!
glad you are safe, so far so good! Yah be with you!
I made my Alaska motorcycle trip on a BMW K75RT back in '06, and clearly remember sailing into a left curve (at a slightly sporty speed) then finding myself in the middle of a buffalo herd. None were on the road, several on the shoulder either side. Close enough to smell 'em. Adrenaline induced memories seem to be the most vivid. After that I paid more attention to the Milepost warnings about wildlife crossing areas. Long days on the road were standard for me because I couldn't sleep when the sky stayed blue all thru the night. Crossed the boarder at Sumas, made it to Anchorage 5 days later. THE Adventure of my life. Most folks have no clue of the size of the North American continent.
nice!
My buddy retired , hopped on his BMW moto and drove 12,000 miles in a month Alaska and back . Retirement gift to himself. He said it was rainer that he thought it be. Tent camped most of the time. Makes my back hurt thinking about that (I drive and XR650 and XT600). His seat cost as much as 3/4 of my moto cost ..perhaps thats his secret. I like a 25 mile ride on gravel (sometimes sideways)
When I drove that in 2002, the roads were shit all the way to Alberta then it was good from there to Montana
Timmy! I’m headed to Hinton tonight, hope I might see you along the way! Safe travels.
Long outta there haha!
@@TruckHouseLife I kinda thought that on my way there🤦🏻♂️😂I was thinking it was probably uploaded a week plus afterwards. Hope you enjoyed Alberta man! Safe travels.
PMA Timmy. ❤️these videos
Thanks!
Hey, we passed each other…you were headed down, as we were headed up to AK (to be clear, we did notice your rig and knew it was you we passed).
nice!
Is that a picture of the dude!?!? Hell yeah man!
yup!
@@TruckHouseLife For the record the in a van Farley cut out is mint lol 👌🏻
Rocking the hank 3 😁 😎 👌
yup!
Safe travels friend!!
Thank you!
Ya man I hear you on the attributes of a long road trip. I just did 1000 miles yesterday cause a very sad thing happened last week and had to just sit and decompress. Long road trips really feel like they heal wounds nicely.
Yup love long quiet drives:)
Yeah sorry we didn't let you in the first time and about the road conditions.
lol
It's way more enjoyable to watch you drive this route than to do it myself. Made it in two days from whitefish Montana trading off drivers
lol
It's crazy how many bugs there are in Alaska. No wonder Russell has to wear a bug net when he goes outside.
It's kinda funny that you have to stop for Bisen crossing the road in Alaska and we have to stop for Canadian Geese in The USA .I wonder what they've got to stop for in Canada ?
Probably turtles 🐢 lol
LOVE YOUR 4×4 CABIN !
lol
Not going to attempt a JB Weld fix??? HAHAHA!
Now I can add power steering hoses, and fluid, to my spares box before heading out on my long adventures.
Not this time;) got a spare now too haha
Timmy's coffee good. Donuts good. Meals ?? 🇨🇦
Hank III ! Nice
So much junk food. Nothing like home food. You sure going on a long road trip. Another amazing video. Regards
fact lol
From a retired Trucker, I delivered a load one time not knowing how I got there, I drove atleast over a hour after I got loaded, delivered it safely, Now that will wake you up !! 😳🌴🍊🐊🌺😊👋
geeez lol
Whew glad you close to a town! Nice scenery!
Yup got lucky!
Enjoy the journey! Make life long memories!
Definitely am!
Are you gonna be uploading any other videos soon I'm up to date on them all great videos brother hope everything is well wish you all the best
Love it! Canada is so awesome.
yup!
I do love the sound of that diesel.

Saw you here in Whistler and wanted to say hi!
nice! maybe catch ya next time! come knock on the door if ya see me round.
All good. I can show you some less known, less touristy places
