Gotta say, I'm not even into sound design, but I'm totally blown away. Incredible tool and fun for just about any musician. And the Cosmos sample tagger is unreal and will make you want to totally index your old samples. Endless possibilities truly. Pretty deep but yet not inaccessible or too hard to use. Brilliant!

I often work across different DAWs and I never realised how useful a universal sampler could be until I got my hands on this… at $10, how can you not!!!
Cheers, I just bought this cause I needed some basic functionality like one-shot triggering of samples and a bit of pitching here and there for my purely computer-based keyboard live setup. CR8's interface is so easy to understand, it really is a blast and fills exactly that gap, thank you!

That's really good, Waves, and I'm not even a fan. Although this is fantastic and the pricing is really good right now I'd like to point out one thing I really, really missed: the possibility of setting and mapping multiple slices in a SAME audio layer. This is pretty standard and although I kinda understand why CR8 avoided this it's still a pretty essential feature imo. Any how, it's an excellent sampler.

Bought it today for 9.99$ without really watching any videos, I saw the potential just by looking at the UI screenshots. After seeing this video, damn, it's really powerful and usable! Love it

I hope in the future you'll add support for more than 8 samples, round robins etc. so it can start competing with Kontakt - CR8 seems more user friendly. Hmm I'm guessing the name CR8 suggests that a CR500 or CRPRO or whatever is coming at some point :P
@@GTSongwriter Yeah pretty much (though some of the pitch-shifting algorithms in CR8 are worth a look and might not be replicable in Kontakt, as far as I know) It is quite fun to use to create characterful instruments, not so great for realistic ones. I would say the sounds it comes with make it worth the price, even if you own kontakt already, they're all quite fun and quirky.
It would be cool if the samples being auditioned in cosmos be automatically pitch mapped when the "Suggest Root Key" button is enabled. So that one would not be limited to specific sample pitches when auditioning for new sounds.
That would mean delayed auditioning when clicking every sample because the program would have to load that sample in the RAM plus the extra processing to map the accordingly to the key. That would drive other users nuts and make them lose their patience. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt as an optional flip-of-a-button switch.

I can’t wait for waves to put out a Drum sampler like bfd but something more intuitive and a bit more presets for reggae. Even 5 different playing styles. I.e sly and robbie, roots raddicks, black slate, Bob Marley, etc with lots of variety of fills/rolls .🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
CR8 is a really good sampler. The features are configured to be easy to use and I love them. But I'm a little disappointed that I can't draw the LFO drawing tool delicately. I hope you can improve that part a little bit.
The trick he's doing with adding sustain to the 808 is something I did many man years ago with Maschine. That's why the legato function (are you listening, Akai?) is so important. Along with 808s, you can use the same trick on any one shot with decent enough length. Maschine has been able to do this for a very long time but Akai is lacking the legato feature so you can't do infinite sustain like you can on Maschine.
Thanks for making this is an excellent demo, and sweet plugin. it's got the essentials, in a slick interface, with extras that help you out. really is nice. comes with a cool AI sample finder.
Great content, but the background tracks are very distracting. The sampler concept is a game changer for me, because it hides complex technologie behind a user friendly intiutive interface.
Even at full price this is only €35. I don't think there is any other sampler out there that has as many features as this for that price. I suspect they are running this as a 'loss leader' to draw people to their website to spend on more products. It's worked a treat on me as in my opinion this plugin alone moves Waves well ahead of the competition.
It’s incredible! . Especially with Cosmo. Waves could have crushed all samplers by going all out with a auto slice function and extensive sequencer and per layer modulators. Missed opportunity imo.

Did you guys abandon this project? Are there any updates planned for additional or improved functions. I have been requesting a normalize function since this launched and the ability to iterate samples in a folder without opening cosmos
You can modulate the playhead with the speed and offset rotary depending on current playback mode,...but can you modulate the sample markers and loop markers?
Could someone, please tell me if it's possible to use good drum sounds on this sampler? I've been trying to find a way to do that... ...this program changes the drum timbre, and the structure, and could never pass a Null Test with the original sound even correcting any latency issues. It may be cool for tonal and noisy things, but if you need a good sampler for drums, I couldn't find a way to use this program so far...

When you were finding that synth in cosmos, it sounded like you were playing the notes, are these just presets, not actual samples?
