I love the Bee Gee's, excellent songwriter's and vocalist's...but better than the Beatles? Come on, come back down to Earth. Robin had one vocal "sound"/timbre, a very unique one, but nothing like the depth of McCartney's voice. Listen to the different voices he could do effortlessly: screaming rock ala' "She's A Woman", dulcet balladering ala' "Hey Jude,", Elvis rock & roll ala' "Lady Madonna", etc. I could go on & on. Maurice was not a strong solo vocalist, excellent harmony singer, but not a lead vocalist. George Harrison was an excellent lead vocalist by the time "Abbey Road" came around. I love Barry Gibb's chest voice so much but the falsetto was so overdone he himself admits it's hard to get behind. Sounds like "crying babies" was a standard criticism during the Fever years. No one could joke at ANY of Lennon's vocalizations, the guy was a great rock singer and he could sing sweetly too, "Julia", "Beautiful Boy", etc. So sorry mate, the Bee Gee's, as great as they were, are NOT superior singers to the Beatles. The Bee Gee's themselves would admit that. When they did the "Sgt. Pepper" movie they all said how huge an influence the Beatles were. Facts.
Robins hauntingly beautiful and unique voice. I love the Bee Gees. But beautiful Robin was my favorite. He was from their beginning. I love all the Gibbs brothers. The acapella Harmony always gets me. I always enjoyed the medleys where the three of them stand around One mic. I think that's always the best part of the concerts. It definitely displays their Harmony and talent and often, thanks to Maurice, there humor. I love and miss the Bee Gees. All my love to Barry and the Gibb family as a whole.

They take me back to the days when they first come out on the Radio. I miss the BEE GEES VERY MUCH. Music just isn't the same with out the whole group singing together. The BeeGees are irreplaceable! There has never been a sound like them. Not only was their music THE BEST, They are truly gentlemen. I grew up with their music all through the 70's & beyond. If you really watched & listened you could sense that each one brought something slightly different to the performance & yet they blended in truly perfect harmony & timing. They All had a great sense of humor which I still laugh. Even Andy brought something special, never to be equaled. His death is still a shock, almost unbelievable, I still miss him. Actually the same feelings for Maurice & Robin. Barry must feel an emptiness that's indescribable. All of them were the best looking guys...Whew! Love their hair etc. Better go for now. He was actually shy by his own admission and said he often felt insecure. I first heard the Bee Gees in 1967 (I'm the same age as the twins) and it was Robin's voice that made me a devoted fan. It is sad never to hear that ethereal voice again. Wish he had been given more recognition. People seem to get acclaim AFTER they die, which sucks! For a treat, have you heard this? I love music, but I've never been a real fan of any band or artist. One thing is sure though, in my playlists BeeGees are always present! How deep is your love, more than a woman, words etc. And now, just now I realised that my first record... is them again! Woman in love! My admiration for them is skyrocketing. Guilty is fabulous. Island in the stream and many many more... Gosh Led Zep Pink Floyd and BeeGees you guys deserve it fully!

This is very cool....I love to see them when they had the whole band, but these stripped down performances really show off their songwriting and their harmonies. Love live Barry and this amazing music. Will love these guys forever.

I miss the Bee Gees a lot! Their songs are very much a part of my growing up, of my life- the words, the rhythm, both pierce my soul, encapsulating the joys and pains of my youth. Thank you Bee Gees, for the memories.

Cat Napper - He was terribly thin here. I often wondered if he was anorexic. He looked unwell. In the early 70's when he weighed more he looked fabulous.

@@catnapper7509 - I think Robin had a lot of issues, strangely enough, even with self esteem, although he shouldn't have, and was often pushed aside because he wasn't the matinee idol type. He was actually shy by his own admission and said he often felt insecure. I first heard the Bee Gees in 1967 (I'm the same age as the twins) and it was Robin's voice that made me a devoted fan. It is sad never to hear that ethereal voice again. Wish he had been given more recognition. People seem to get acclaim AFTER they die, which sucks!

I am 73 yrs. young. The BGEES are the best of the best. Sorry Beatles. BUT THE Brothers (Bee Gees) have the harmonies down so completely perfect. That's it. I adore them to the bottom of my heart. I was able to see them live. oh my gosh I have no idea what yr. it was. I believe i was 28. I saw them in Seattle, Wa. Barry would you ever get back to me? Just to say hi. I love you all so very much!!!
